as the title says :( my cat is about 6 or 5 months old and I just recently got him about a month ago. This is the first time i've seen him pant like this. I've played with him in the past with a cat wand and he never panted like a dog until now. should I be worried?
Hi and thank you in advanced. We were in the process of retraining our 8yr old cat to be solely an indoor cat as we have a kitten. Unfortunately she made a mad dash for freedom and we didn't see her for some time. She eventually dragged herself home a quarter of her weight covered in concrete like saliva, mud, and poop. Long story short, she has a massive hole in her tongue. At first the vet didn't want to do anything but on a checkup they decided to try and repair it. They failed. She is now booked into having a 3rd surgery to remove necrotic tissue and flap (she almost has a forked tongue). We are feeding her via an esophageal feeding tube 4 x a day. The dribble is horrendous and constant. She is so unhappy and anxious. My question is basically will she always dribble? If worst case scenario occurs can she live without a tongue or partial tongue? The injury is supposedly from a baited fishing hook aimed at cats.
