A list of puns related to "Buffy Summers"
Growing up my favorite TV leads were: Buffy, the Halliwell Sisters and Xena.
but for some reason of the leads I feel the most protective of Buffy. Every time she has a heartbreaking moment (ie: Dead Things, The Prom etc.) I just wanna do what Willow did for Buffy and let her sob on my lap .
Buffy Summers just means so much more to me. I know it's weird cause she's a fictional character but Sarah Michelle Gellar's performances as the character is important to me.
I'm new to this sub so I'm sorry if this question has been asked already. But I've been wondering what if Conner had met Buffy? Because Conner has already met Faith and Willow. But I don't recall him ever meeting Buffy. I'm curious as to what his reaction would be and vice versa. Because it has been stated within the show that Buffy was the love of Angel's life. And yes I know that Angel was in love with Cordelia too but their relationship never really took off. It died before it ever even got the chance to go anywhere. (Which is obviously due to the fact that Joss Whedon is a douchebag who was horrible to Charisma Carpenter and just completely destroyed Cordelia's character but I digress). Anyway, what do you think Conner's reaction would be if he met Buffy?
forgive me for being 20 years too late to this topic, but I've only recently gotten into the show. i haven't seen angel or read the comics, but please feel free to reference them in the replies in case they add any additional context.
everyone always talks about bangel, "go fish", "beer bad", and the various slurs thrown around in the show as slut shaming, but I've yet to see much discussion about how spuffy is, too.
setting aside the toxicity of the relationship (spike assaulted and harassed her and buffy verbally beat him down unprovoked), buffy's whole "comparing-sex-with-spike-to-an-addiction" arc in season 6 was really problematic. I'm still shocked by the fact that everyone (especially xander, but he has a track record) throws it in her face and looks down on her for it.
i get that wh*don didn't like spike's popularity, and that is very much reflected in how spuffy is portrayed and spike's subsequent actions, but every time buffy wants to express her sexuality, she's violently shut down by the barriers of a male director.
why can't hate sex or fwb just be okay? the poor girl is basically living in hell. i really hate that female pleasure/sexuality is so looked down upon in this show.
is it just me? is there context I'm missing? bc it just feels all different kinds of levels of fked up.
edit: my bad, i completely forgot about riley. i do still think her character is unnecessarily beat up (internally and from disapproval from others) about her spike situation
Buffy dusts a vampire just in time for Jessica to get the wrong impression. Buffy has been cursed and sees Jessica as Faith. Both are posed to kill one another.
Buffy has some of the worst luck on her birthday, but which one takes the cake?
I am particularly biased. I canβt think of any superhero created during the late 20th century that is still so influential and who may, in 50 years, be as iconic as Batman or Spider-Man.
Iβm looking for an in depth character study here. What about Buffy Summers stands out in terms of the characterβs arc and the narrative of the story (both film/tv series and only canonical)?
I have to be quick but Iβm really hoping for some well developed responses.
For me what stands out:
-the reluctant hero who longs for a return of innocence. -the characters integration of the masculine/feminine -SMGs performance particularly in seasons 1-5. -Supporting characters who juxtapose Buffyβs heroism, altruism and compassion (Willows insecure and power hungry, Xander is oafish, Faith is traumatized and borderline, Wesleyβs half baked authority, Gilesβ somewhat paternalistic moral center, Anya, Cordelia Spike and Angelβs redemption arcs etc.) -character irony (short, petite, cheerleader mall rat who demons fear)
What episodes really stand out to you with regards to Ms. Summers? What makes her great?
In doing my polls about Buffy and Angelβs summers, I realized that so many of them are spent with the protagonist away from home.
After S1, Buffy is in LA with her dad. After S2, Buffy has run away to LA. After S5, Buffy is dead.
After S2, Angel is mourning Buffy in Sri Lanka. After S3, Angel is trapped at the bottom of the ocean.
Basically, of the 10 βsummersβ across both shows, half of them are spent with the protagonist away from home. Iβm really sad we didnβt get to see more of The Scooby Gang and Angel Investigations operating without their leader.
Itβs also worth pointing out that Post S5/S2, both Buffy and Angel were βout of commission.β That summer would have been the perfect time for a villain to launch an attack on Sunnydale/LA.

Two plucky chosen who dust monsters while quipping, but who will have the final line.
Things Buffy Summers should have absolutely gone to therapy for:
- Being betrayed by and then having to stake her childhood friend
- Watching her cousin get killed by Der Kindestod as a child
-How almost every single sexual encounter sheβs had resulted in abandonment and/or violence
- Guilt over so many deaths: Kendra, Jesse, Tara, Jenny, Cassie, Dr. Gregory, Mr. Platt, Allan Finch, all of Angelusβ present-day victims, the Potential Slayers who died under her care, and a lot of other people
- Stabbing Faith in order to save a dying Angel when she was only 18
- Dying at the hands of The Master when she was only 16
- The attempted rapes perpetuated on her by (Hyena-possessed) Xander and Spike
- Faith stealing her body and subsequently using it for sex with her boyfriend
- Giles stripping her of her Slayer powers without her consent and then being forced to save her mother from a crazed vampire
- Her Motherβs death/Finding her motherβs dead body in her living room
- Having her mind/memories manipulated by the Monks of Dagon
-Her boyfriend losing his soul and becoming a murderer immediately after losing her virginity to him
-Killing Angel to save the world
-The two separate times she was manipulated into believing she had killed an innocent person(Ted and Katrina, respectively)
-Faithβs betrayal
-Her fatherβs abandonment
Please feel free to add any that I might have missed
