Rectal mucus after vaginal sex from untreated prolapse??

I (F25) have had a minor (?) rectal prolapse since I was around 13 and have been too embarrassed to get it treated, and been experiencing yellow sticky mucus in my stool/when I wipe— sometimes even without a bowel movement. Now, I’ve noticed that same foul smelling mucus when I clean up after sex (which I now have to rush to do as I’m petrified the other person will see/smell it) and I’m worried that vaginal sex could somehow be exposing the prolapse and expelling the mucus? Bodies are gross.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does this sound like an issue relating to prolapse or could it be a gut health concern? Course of action?

Do you have experiences with vaginal prolapse or tumors/growths that weighed down on your uterus and vagina?

Please don't tell me this is normal aging, because I don't want to just accept that I must tolerate this. My vaginal opening has changed greatly in appearance over the past few years. This is after significant life changes and health issues. I suspect that I either have tumors/growths that push down on my vagina and cause the opening to be under heavy pressure, or that anorexia, reliance on stimulants and simultaneously carrying very heavy things resulted in a type of semi prolapse due to gravity and weakened abdomen etc muscles to prevent all the pressure of gravity from affecting my vagina. My vaginal opening always looks swollen underneath the labia minora. and has deep indentations around both sides of the opening, and the opening looks like something is coming out. Idk how to characterize it. I also now become swollen around my vagina and painful if I put a finger or anything Inside my vagina. And I frequently feel a tension, overstimulation and sense of congestion in my vagina and uterus area that I think is a warning sign of early development of pain/something wrong. I have had horrible endometriosis type symptoms on and off for over a decade, the past year and a half I've had very little symptoms which I credit to yoga, learning to expand my lower belly and bring more space and movement I to my lower abdomen and womb area, and relaxation/lowered stress and tension. Let me say too that to go poo I usually have to push on the spot between vagina and anus otherwise the poo is like stuck in a weird pocket and won't come out. I didn't have these problems just a few years ago. I know I have a disease but am not sure what it is, I think solving it has to do with exercise and overall health to strengthen muscles and support my immune system. If this sounds familiar to anyone I'd love to learn what caused your symptoms, what factors contributed to it worsening and getting better, how you treated it, etc. Blessings

Birth: the gift that keeps on giving (vaginal prolapse)

I was just diagnosed with a vaginal prolapse by my gynecologist. I’d been INSISTING something is wrong after experiencing incontinence and pain with sex. I could also see somewhat of a bulge in my vagina opening (for lack of a better word). I had an inverted, prolapsed uterus at birth which is most likely what caused the sagging (basically collapse) of my vaginal wall. Sex feels as though nothing will fit in there like there is no room. The doctor labeled this as “common” and “a normal issue” that women experience. I feel like I don’t agree? Why aren’t these things taken more seriously? My life has been significantly impacted by the issues I experienced at birth and now postpartum. Her remedy is a cream that is meant to “rejuvenate” the tissues. She also recommended PT. Does anyone have any experience with these issues or similar?

How worried should a person who has never given birth be worried about post-hysterectomy vaginal prolapse or cuff tearing?

For background I’m 24F and I don’t have any diagnosed uterine disorders. I do have heavy bleeding sometimes and I typically have painful period cramps, though.

I’d like a hysterectomy because I’m childfree, the monthly bleeding is pointless for me, having a uterus is only a liability, and I’m very dysphoric about possessing an organ that evolved to gestate human life. I’m also questioning my gender identity, though I don’t mind being perceived as female by society and I’m not dysphoric about my figure, voice, genitalia, or sex hormone ratios.

If I’m able to obtain an elective hysterectomy, how worried should I be about cuff tearing, vaginal prolapse down the line, loss of orgasm intensity and sexual pleasure, sexual dysfunction, difficulties self-lubricating, and decreased sex hormone production/early menopause?

Note: I’ve already had my tubes removed for sterilization, and what I’d ideally like to be uterus-free as well. I’m also not seeking ablation because that wouldn’t address the issue of me not wanting any uterine tissues in my body whatsoever, endometrium can grow back, and I read a journal article about how ablation-induced scarring can make cancer difficult to catch should cancer develop.

[CW anatomical terms and yucky condition] Chance of vaginal prolapse after hysto?

All I wanted was a simple percentage or something for how common this is, but Google is of absolutely no help whatsoever. All I've found was a long article that then stated "so the chance of vaginal prolapse after hysto is........... higher than the chance without hysto". Damn. I had no idea. Super helpful.

If anyone has info about how common it is, please let me know!

I'm also curious if there are any preventative measures that can be taken? If this is a problem big enough to worry about, wouldn't there be some kind of procedure, if medically possible, to attach the top of the vaginal canal to something so it won't fall out?

Vaginal Birth Uterine Prolapse - Give Me Hope!

I had a relatively uneventful pregnancy, was active and lifted weights up until 34 weeks.

I was induced at 40+4 on 4/2 and given Cytotec and Pitocin. My water broke after being on 4 units of Pitocin and I dilated very quickly (something like 3cm to 10 cm in 15mins). I pushed for 1.5hrs and a vacuum and episiotomy was needed to get his head through my vaginal opening. My son was born on 4/3/21 at 1:11pm.

I felt great the first 2 weeks postpartum. Was taking short walks with the baby and struggling through the BF learning curve. All of a sudden a few days ago I realized I had a uterine prolapse and I was blindsided by it. I went to the doctor who diagnosed an incomplete uterine prolapse. They didn't offer much help besides that I'm still healing and they often see this in the early postpartum weeks. I have a second checkup (5 weeks) shortly in which I'm trying to get into Pelvic Floor Therapy.

Can someone talk me off the ledge and tell me that my life will not be ruled by my sloppy uterus and that PFT is helpful? I just want to take my baby boy for a walk and not be reminded that my insides are falling out, let alone return to exercising in the future.

Vaginal prolapse a week after Pyrometra surgery

My cat had emergency surgery for pyometra just over a week ago, today we noticed a red bump under her anus and took her back to the vet. We were told it was a vaginal prolapse. They attempted to push it back in but it kept popping back out. Now she is having another procedure to have a stitch to hold it in place.. my question is, is this common after having pyometra removal? I was under the impression she had a hysterectomy, would a "vaginal" prolapse involve her uterus (which she no longer has) or am I misunderstanding.

Also is this an understandable complication?

Dealing with vaginal prolapse while stuck in appointment “holding pattern”

A few weeks ago, I had a vaginal vault prolapse and it’s really starting to take a toll on my mental health. I felt blamed for it by the doc who saw me. On top of that there’s no gynecology or specialty appointments available until summer (and I’m still waiting a determination on whether they’ll even accept me due to the pandemic), so the recommendation from the doc was just keep pushing the prolapse back in so I can pee and to hold it in place when I try to poop.

My whole abdomen feels tight, achy and full. The outside is tender and raw feeling. I constantly feel like I have to urinate and defecate, but I’m really struggling to use the toilet and actually go (but I also have urinary incontinence now.) I’m uncomfortably bloated.

I just don’t understand what I’m supposed to do other than wait and suffer. I’m relatively young, low risk factors, no kids, and I feel like my life has completely been altered by this. For anyone else who’s been in a similar holding pattern without medical treatment, how did you cope?

Help please! Bladder prolapse? Vaginal canal

This might be a bit dumb, but is the vaginal canal shaped like a straight "tube." Hear me out..

I'm in my early 20s and I have never found my cervix. I've never given birth. I was curious so decided to examine myself and couldn't insert my middle finger far enough. After the pelvic bone I found I was obstructed by a bulging sensation after my second nuckle. I always thought it was normal. Now I fear it might be a prolapse.

My question is: is it normal to feel a tight squishy muscle inside the vagina? or is it supposed to feel more like a fleshy "tube" right up to the cervix?

Thankyou.

P.S, it's 3am and I've given myself anxiety.

Have any women dealt with torn tissue around the urethra or urethral prolapse related to sexual trauma, vaginal dryness, and/or recurrent yeast infections?

I’m 27F. I’ve been with my current partner since December. He is my first uncircumcised partner and is the most “endowed” partner I have been with. He cleans around his foreskin daily and doesn’t use any harsh soaps. He also isn’t overly big, but he is longer and more girthy than other men I have been with.

About 2 months ago we began having issues in the bedroom. I noticed that I was feeling dryer during sex and things started hurting. It was like a burning and throbbing sensation. Then I noticed that I was potentially getting tears around the bottom of my vagina area. I googled it and believe it’s called the “forchette.”

I take two salt based medication and live in a dry state so my health across many different body parts has suffered over dryness. We also like to smoke cannabis before becoming intimate since it revs up his drive and enhances pleasure for me.

We suspected that dryness and angles were causing the tears and tried to adjust and go slower, use more lube. One issue is that my partner doesn’t go down after ejaculation. He can easily go 4-8 times consecutively and still be erect.

Last Saturday we were intimate and went 4 rounds. Everything felt fine the first theee. We used plenty of plain no additive silicone lube, went slow to start, etc. But then he wanted to go again and I said okay. I wasn’t really in the mood because I’m a one, maybe two, and done kind of girl. But I still enjoy being with him and was hoping it would be the last round. This is when things were hurting. I didn’t say anything because it wasn’t hurting that bad but definitely enough to not feel good. Afterwards I had burning and was throbbing from pain (again maybe a level 3 out of 4).

When I went to clean up and check on myself I noticed that a thin strip of tissue around my urethra was flayed and hanging off to the side. I also had more tearing around the forchette. My stomach dropped seeing the skin hanging there. I freaked out and showed my partner and then he freaked out. I don’t spend a lot of time looking at my urethra but I don’t think it’s normally like that or has been. We basically googled and decided I would call my gyno Monday since I’ve had issues for months.

Come Monday my gyno couldn’t see me and directed me to urgent care. Urgent care took swabs to test for yeast because I seemed to have a bad case of it and I believe urinalysis for UTI. Told me to follow up with my gyno because they aren’t equipped for this but could at least rule out need for

Vaginal prolapse during pregnancy?

34F. Live in midwest. Second viable (so far) pregnancy. First was born nov 2018. This pregnancy resulted in a traumatic precipitous birth and postpartum (still present) urinary incontinence despite trying therapies. I’ve had two miscarriages since that living child and doc prescribed progesterone suppositories for this pregnancy. It is a white oval shaped pill (labeled p4). I insert with finger twice daily.

My family has history of miscarriage, DVTs and blood clotting disorder (factor v hetero), and ehlers danlos.

I started progesterone shortly after ovulation. First two weeks were fine, insert similar to tampon, no problems. But over the last two weeks, the space in my vagina is getting smaller and smaller. It almost feels like I have two very narrow vaginas because I have to find a tunnel to insert the pill! This is new - something I’ve never felt before. I do t feel any symptoms externally or physically other than it being a tight space when inserting the pill.

There’s definitely something large and hard in there. Feels fleshy and I can’t easily move it. Maybe just increased blood flow and swelling??

Would love any advice! I did also message my OB. I’m worried as today it was super tight and weird feeling. Like there’s a long, hard, fleshy tube inside my vagina! What is this?!

I have no other diagnoses to report. Take no meds except progesterone and prenatal. Allergic to cephalexin meds. Light to moderate exercise, high end of average weight (not into overweight). 5’11” tall. Caucasian. Doc once mentioned some mild marfan characteristics but never been tested. Not sure what’s helpful!

This scares me! My mom always said my Nana’a uterus fell and was bulging from her vagina and she had to go to the emergency room and have a hysterectomy! I don’t know if this is all true or not but it’s the first story that popped into my head.. I’m also overweight which when I googled it, google said being overweight can cause this issue as well.. so I was just like.. nah.. but I really miss my cup! I just want to know if I’m being crazy or maybe there’s a better cup option out there that I don’t have to use my vagina muscles quite so much for. Ughhhh help me out! I hate tampons and pads!

Vaginal prolapse at 13w

I don't think I need to say based on the title, but, TW for some graphic content. Last night during my shower I felt a strange bump in my vagina, and took a look. It looked like a thumb-sized light pink balloon was poking out. I was able to push it back in, but I was instantly worried that my uterus was falling out and that maybe somehow my fetus was getting squished and maybe killed in the process. I was just in shock. Normally this kind of thing would cause panic and anxiety for me, but I was just completely stoic as I told my husband and got him to look up the number for my OB on-call.

The on call doctor was in surgery, so I waited while my husband and I googled. I got myself convinced, based on the strange anatomy I've sometimes felt (I complained to my husband a couple weeks ago "It feels like I have two vaginas") that this wasn't the uterus, but possibly my bladder. It would explain why I occasionally get episodes of needing to pee just after I've peed, which I had just put down as pregnancy weirdness.

But then when I finally get a call from the doctor, she immediately thinks it's my cervix popping out. I couldn't get from her why she thought it was that vs any other structure (can be rectal, bladder, urethra, the vagina itself). But she assured me several times that the fetus would be fine. She did not recommend going to the ER. I wasn't really planning on an ER trip anyway (the roads are covered in washboard ice where I live now, no thanks) unless I thought it could save my fetus.

But if it really was my cervix like the doctor said, I wasn't convinced that my fetus wasn't somehow getting squished to death by a freaking hole in my pelvic muscles. Of all things. After 16 months of work, and $30K+ for IVF treatment (including meds + surgery), after everything this body has already been through (four surgeries. septic shock. almost dying. almost losing my first child. third degree tear. one psychotic episode and one case of post-anesthesia delirium).

To lose our one chance at a second child because of weak pelvic muscles, was too much to comprehend. Husband and I just sat there on the couch, not sure what to do. He gave me a number, 99.9% sure that everything is fine. I didn't like that 0.1%. I would swim across an ocean to get rid of that 0.1%. But then I felt the tiniest little kick from my uterus. Maybe it was gas bubbles. I didn't care. I had to take it as a sign. And go to bed. My super power is sleeping (I can always fall asleep, even on the

Vaginal Prolapse, probably

When I (29,f) was coughing recently, I noticed a weird sensation like a blob near the entrance. Ignored it. Now I have my period, and I felt the mass - I literally can't tell if it's from the top or bottom, it just feels like a fleshy length that keeps going (uterine?)

Yes, I am definitely going to the gyno (waiting until after my period because there's only so much embarrassment I can take), but right now I'm freaking out. Never been pregnant, never had pelvic floor issues...

Discouraged barely covers my feelings. I have so many other health issues, and I didn't even know this was a thing that could happen. It's got me in a dark place.

Man seeking advice on vaginal prolapse and its effects on everything

Hello All

I’ve just started dating a lady a few weeks ago who has told me fairly early on (date 3) that she suffered a traumatic childbirth with her first child. She had a ‘4 degree tear’ and then the doctor made a mess of the stitching it up and she had to have several corrective procedures in the months that followed. She also suffered from a prolapse. I’m a bit sketchy on the details as I was unable to fully understand what she was telling me.

This all happened about 11 years ago and she has also had another child via caesarean around 8 years ago.

We met a couple of weeks ago via Online Dating and we got along really well, we’re really attracted to each other and have started making out but taking things at a respectable pace. About a week later she told me about what had happened to her and tried to end it before we had even really started. She said something along the lines of ‘ I can’t be the kind of girlfriend you’re looking for’. I told her not to be silly and it was so early on in the relationship that neither of us really knew anything.

I don’t know the extent of the issues because I don’t know how to go about pursuing the subject. We’ve had 5 dates now. We have just kissed and cuddled and it’s still early days however there does seem to be the elephant in the room now.

I don’t know what to expect when we end up having sex. If indeed we do end up having sex.

Have any of you had any experience of this? Everything else is really cool but we’ve not moved thing to the next level sexually yet. Will it be physically different ? Will it all work in the same way? I know everyone’s different.

Thanks in advance...

UPDATE

I just want to give you an update. On Friday night the time felt right and we ended up in her bedroom and made love for the first time and it was truly amazing.

We took it really slow, she took the lead and had an explosive night!

She had a lovely soft and moist pussy which looked, tasted and felt amazing. Visually she had a very small amount of pubic hair as a landing strip but was completely clean and smooth (which I love). She had the most sensitive clit on a woman I have ever been with and she was so unbelievably into sex with me that I felt I was celebrating my Birthday and Christmas with a hot girl all the same time. Everything works for her, it’s sensitive and feels great. We both had an exhausting Friday night.

Thanks for all your advice on this thread. I read it, absorbed it and took it on board.

Pushing felt relieving and burning. But it was so different than my epidural birth with my daughter where I couldn't really feel where or how to push. My husband and doula were amazing and I couldn't have done it without them. My little men were born about 15 min apart baby B was a little traumatic, cord prolapse meant he came out with some extra assistance and was a little pale and floppy. Initial APGAR 4 but the 5 min was 8. Both are sleepy little old men. If anyone is wondering if they can do an unmedicated birth, you certainly can! Thanks for all the amazing support. Vaginal Wall Prolapse and Working Out

Hi! I had my first baby 10 weeks ago, and would like to start getting back into shape. Before I became pregnant I weighed roughly 130 lbs (give or take a few depending on the day), and I am 5'4. I gained 50 lbs during the pregnancy, weighing in at 182 on the day of. Since I gave birth I haven't exercised at all except for long walks with the baby. I am down to 149 but the bulk of that weight loss happened in the first 2 weeks. I also think breastfeeding is helping slowly but surely knock the weight off. Here is my dilemma, before getting pregnant, I stayed in shape by playing on two recreational soccer teams and doing yoga once or twice a week. I think I gained weight so quickly during the pregnancy because I was just so exhausted and quit my teams and slept all day. My plan was to start playing again this spring in order to start getting back in shape, but my doctor informed me that I have a mild/moderate prolapsed vaginal wall (my bladder is sagging into the wall a bit), and that I shouldn't be running for the next 6 months.

I really want to start getting into shape again, but I really suck at 'exercising.' Going to the gym just bores me; I need to be participating in an activity. My doctor said yoga and pilates were good exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and any advice to give? Are there any cardio heavy activities that I could possibly do? Do you have any recommendations for what worked for you to get your pelvic floor back in shape? Thanks!

Vaginal prolapse?

I pretty sure my vagina just prolapsed. Has anyone experienced this? I'm really scared, and will see my doctor first thing in the morning, but right now I really need someone to tell me this isn't the end of the world. What about sex? What about having kids? Someone please, please talk to me.

Edit: An update for anyone who's curious. I saw my GP, who thinks it's actually my bladder that's prolapsed (it bulges into the vagina when this happens, apparently). He's referred me to a gynaecologist.

I've realized in hindsight that some people were likely picturing something much more dramatic than it actually is. It's a comparatively mild prolapse - it's a large bulge inside the birth canal that basically blocks it off. It protrudes externally only slightly. Prolapsed apparently occur in degrees, and mine isn't that bad (though damage to your lady bits to any degree is still pretty freaky). I'm hoping mine can be fixed with kegels, but that may be wishful thinking. Ill need to the gyno about where to go from here.

[Sex life after surgery] anyone had corrective surgery for a vaginal prolapse?

Hi all,

I suspect i may have a vaginal prolapse, probably since having my daughter 2 years ago but i only really noticed it lately that there seemed to be a hole in my vaginal wall between it and the anus.

I have had issues with bowel movements and using tampons since but i had never heard of that and didnt think too much until i discovered the hole recently.

I am planning to go to my doctor to get checked but am on period at mo so want to wait till its finished.

I only recently (last few weeks) had a smear test so i would have thought if there was a problem my doctor would have picked it up when she did that but maybe not!

Fron what ive read surgery is probably going to be the solution if im right about it which is making me scared to go and get checked if im honest!

Im only 28 and would like another child and you know a sex life lol and i suppose im just afraid that surgery could cause more problems when it comes to sex. At the mo i only have constipation issues (bms seem to get stuck for days sometimes until i manually put pressure on from inside vagina), have to use smaller tampons as seem to have less room in there than use to and def cant leave one in if need to poop it gets pushed out. And the feeling of a hole in there if i feel it with my finger. Not terribly bad problems in the scheme of things really if surgery might make it worse....

Does anyone have any success stories with this type of surgery?? Perhaps it will give me more courage to know if im right that surgery would fix things! Especially if theres anyone here based in ireland as our medicial system is "special" and doesnt always offer treatments that seem to be standard elsewhere, especially when it comes to gynacoligical issues (for example i have pcos and was offered no treatment unless i wanted to get pregnant immediately, diagnosed 3 years ago and not once offered any treatment as wasnt planning children immediately).

Any stories extremly welcomed ☺

It didn't hurt, but it was definitely not like anything Ive ever seen before on my body. I stood up and it felt kind of uncomfortable (like i had a dry tampon in) but still not painful. I googled, not knowing what else to do, "vagina is falling out", and I saw all sorts of things about vaginal prolapse.

I looked again with a mirror while lying down and things appear to be "normal" but then again I don't usually look at myself from that angle so I'm not sure what is and is not normal. It freaked me out a bit, my SO and I have been actively trying to conceive for the past 7 months so anything surrounding my reproduction system puts me on high alert.

Constipation? Vaginal prolapse!

Ladies, just a little heads up for those who might be suffering from constipation or urinary problems and can't seem to shake the problem:

do a little check for vaginal prolapse. It's as easy as sticking two fingers up your vagina and bearing down. If you feel bulges coming in, it's a good idea to go to your doctor/gynaecologist and have them do a little test.

Apparently vaginal prolapses can cause constipation (just like constipation can apparently cause vaginal prolapse).

I'm off in a few weeks to go have a hammock or two sewn in, but this morning's revelation has hopefully put an end to a few years of strange problems I had that kept coming and going.

Follow up on vaginal prolapse/constipation post

Since after the initial diagnosis I've been to the gynaecologist for further tests, I thought I'd do a follow up on this post.

For me, it turned out not to be too weak pelvic floor muscles, but quite the opposite. Hypertonic pelvic floor muscles. When you go and do some searches on the internet, this is usually seen as synonymous with vaginismus, but that is not necessarily so.

For myself, I am absolutely relieved that I'm not going to have to go and have an operation and some hammocks sewn in, because I love sex and any cutting in my vaginal wall sounds like a scary idea to me.

But on talking with the gynaecologist and going through the tests, it's quite clear to me that HPF may well be caused by enthusiastically exercising your pelvic floor muscles. Although I have never consciously done any kegels, due to how I was taught from as soon as I could walk to comport myself (back straight, shoulders back, stomach in, no slouching), a lot of my core muscles are in a constant state of hypertension, as this has become a completely subconscious action. Until I was made aware of it, I had no idea that my PFM and my abdominal muscles were constantly tightened up.

The reason I'm posting a follow-up is because the talk with the gynaecologist made it quite clear to me that although we are told to religiously do our kegels, there is also a very clear need for learning to relax those pelvic floor muscles as well and that is not something that is emphasised much at all!

Hypertonic pelvic floor muscles can be the cause of quite a few problems with the bladder and the guts, for instance not being able to pee properly, having pain while taking a pee that is not a UTI, not being able to empty your bladder entirely and also of bowel problems, such as intermittent constipation and diarrhoea, problems vacating the bowels entirely and abdominal cramps. It can even be mistakenly diagnosed as IBS!

So by all means, do your kegels, but make sure that you also take the time to learn to relax your pelvic floor muscles. Let that belly hang out and relax your abdominal muscles and check in with your core muscles once in a while to make sure that you're not subconsciously keeping them all tight!
