An suggestions? Ideas??
How do you deal with this?
So I am 3 weeks pp, beautiful daughter and Iβm so thankful for her but I had a somewhat traumatic birth in terms of not feeling supported by my care team.
I laboured for 9 hours and pushed for 3, and my epidural was done by the time I was pushing so I felt it ALL.
Ended up with a small second degree tear.
I know that my vagina and perineum will be swollen/different after birth, but I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this?
So I have extra skin, basically like if you think of your inner labia, but itβs from my anus to my vaginal opening. It doesnβt hurt at all, and itβs only on one side of my vagina.
I know Iβm only 3 week pp, and thereβs a lot of healing left for my body to do, but I just was wondering if anyone else experienced this? And if you did, did it stay that way since childbirth or did it βshrinkβ back up?
I'm French and I just saw a video of an american female youtuber who lived in France for 10 years. She recently did a video about perineum reeducation after giving birth and many American women commented that they didn't know it was possible. They just thought that after giving birth it's normal to pee yourself.
It was appalling for me. In France it's standard to have perineum physical therapy with your midwife up to three years after giving birth. It's also covered by the social security.
I thought I will share it on Reddit bc of the large American audience. Perineum physical therapy exists ! Sorry if everyone knew this and if my post is stupid.
Was recently diagnosed with severe hypertonic perineum and hyperactive bladder during an urodynamic exam. My urologist sent me to PF therapy and gave me a treatment for hyperactive bladder.
He told me "you can olny get better, because it's difficult to get worse than that" which kinda gave me hope.
I would like to know if PF therapy really worked for you, for this condition? How long did it take to start get relief ? I'd like to know your story about it
Thank you x
Hopefully I am in the right place, I have recently over the last three days had pretty bad pain in my Perineum area, and it has started to welt up and become inflamed. Every time I walk or sit it is borderline unbearable and I have been taking ibuprofen to just be able to move.
Is this prostatitis? I am able to urinate and it's not any more frequent than before this issue arose, but I am having trouble figuring out any other explaination for the pain and raised area. Kind of feels like sitting on a golf ball, and burning sensation when walking.
Any advice would be great! I haven't checked with my doctor yet, I wanted to see if it would go away with home remedies first (of which if there are any, do share)
Thanks!
Like the space between anus and scrotum, but a little further up the scrotum. If I press on this part during an erection, it feels hard like steel. When flaccid that area feels like normal muscle. Is this the BC muscle?
I donβt know if I have IC or prostatitis. Iβm a 25 yr old guy whoβs been dealing with these issues for 7 months now. My perineum aches so bad after urinating. Almost feels like I also have razor cuts in it. I also get this sense of urgency 24/7. The only thing that helps is a heating pad. Iβve tried stretching but it doesnβt seem to be working after 2 months. Any suggestions ?
Hi everyone, first time posting here and I have something for y'all to try that has helped me tremendously. Before I dive into it, I'd like to share what my journey dealing with this terrible condition has been like so that it can help you gauge where I am at and maybe you can take something helpful from it. If you just want to know about PMBPR scroll down to the tl;dr.
Just over four years ago I began to experience lower libido, yellow/urine in my semen and a weird sensation in my lower abdomen/bladder post-ejaculation. It lasted a few months before I experienced an event which I believe was the trigger to PFD. The event occurred while I was erect and my penis was pressed down on, which was felt as a quick jolt of pain and spasm. After the event my erections were becoming more painful and I had a never-ending urge to urinate and constant bladder pain - constant. I went to all sorts of doctors and had a whole bunch of tests done on me, all to no avail. The symptoms however seemed to change on their own, the agony nevertheless remained the same.
The first major change was about 15 months after the event, when the urge to urinate went away and all that I was left with was with bladder and penile pain. This wasn't a good thing though; things were just getting worse. Till this day I still don't get an "urge" to go, I've had to rewire my mind to understand when I need to really urinate around the pain. There were many times when the pain was so bad that I figured it meant I had to go, only to end up barely urinating anything at all. So I guess it was the next 15 months that followed where I was simply coping with this sudden change of not having an urge, all the while still seeing doctors out of desperation. The mental toll by then had been devastating, I was becoming all around numb, detached, consumed by this condition, feeling unreal like I was stuck in some twisted dream. I was taking matters into my own hands as I had given up on doctors, until everything started to click once I found out about pelvic floor related issues. I started to see a PF therapist but I wasn't getting much results. And despite it all making sense, it just didn't, because how was I supposed to accept that doing some simple stretches was going to magically fix this? Especially my lower-abdomen/bladder pain. I was extremely confused. My mind was so out of it by then that I couldn't even fathom this stuff. If I had discovered this closer to the onset of my condition, it would have bee
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi, i have ED, penis numb, burning pain, and the most unconfortable defecation problema. When i have near to go to the WC, my perineum puts to much tigh and so Painfull.
This is normal?
My neighbors are nuts and boy is my beard itchy.
Hey I just realized my perineum muscle is too tight.Like all my tightness is on perineum muscle. Is it a trigger point ?Anyone else also feels like this? What should I do to relax it.?Pls help
Sometimes I can feel strong inflammation and pressure in my perineum area specially after walking for a while. I have Grade 1/2 bilateral varicocele.
Back in september I started doing a full carnivore diet regime trying to fix hf once for all (stretching/strengthening did nothing) and within the first month my inflammation on this area did not change at all, but other physical symptoms did change for the better (my body stopped feeling tight and I became more flexible without the need to actively stretch) then came October and here was the first time I noticed a reduction in my perineum area inflammation.
Since then, improvement have been stable even after having dropped the carnivore diet. Consuming fast foods have shown to increase inflammation on this area, but overall its so much better than where it was.
Soooo, what I think caused this positive change? Having dropped vegetable oils out of my diet. This is the only change that has remained untouched since last September and I recommend to everyone suffering from this ballony perineum ailment.
Positive changes since the reduction of perineum inflammation:
Has anyone had relief from pain in their perineal region (area between scrotum and anus), and in the groin areas to the sides of the perineum (down in between inner thighs, not in the upper groin area near your belly, to the sides of the base of the penis), after getting a successful varicocele embolization?
This type of pain features prominently in my varicocele pain, and I've only heard Urologists mention testicular pain radiating to the kidney region associated with varicoceles.
What about relief of lower leg pain (e.g. left hamstring and calf), and base of the penis pain, after an embolization?
Wishing you all healing and a full recovery gents,
Maybe thats no the same case for all people here, but based in my case, i have a therory that can be the problem in a lot of us.
First, i suffer ED, perineum pain, ejaculation & defecation pain. In general, my pelvic floor (perineum) is so tigh.
My problems started with a bowel/constipation problems and at the start the covid restrictions (march 2020) I suffered a hardest agravation. When this happened, I suffered so many neuropatic pain episodes in penis and perineum; then, the muscles have been more tigh and tigh, and no have any erections during day. Only Painfull erections at night sometimes.
Now i fell a tension in perineum all days.
In conclusion:
Problem started with nerve irritation; the muscles loss range movement (tigh); and last these produce a lack of blodflow.
Nerve irritation/damage -> increase muscle tone -> lack of blodflow (in spiral)
I dont know how to do. Doctors not undertand nothing about this and PF physios not work. I Only do DCT but i live in the uncertainty.
So I always seem to get a little tear at the bottom of the entrance to my vagina every time thereβs any kind of back and forth movement, itβs super annoying and idk if anyone else deals with this? I was using an estrogen cream and dilating to help stretch the area out and it stopped happening for a bit, however the last few months itβs come back and isnβt going away. I was Googling how women stop tears during child birth and came across oils which can help improve elasticity in that area to avoid tears. I was wondering if anyone has used these to prevent tears during sex and if it helped?
I noticed that my genital areaβ especially around my vaginal opening/perineum have been irritated, and after about a day I noticed what look like cuts. This isnβt the first time this has happened and I also think my period coming soon might trigger the irritation, but Iβm just really confused about whatβs going on. It hurts to touch and when Iβm standing or sitting in certain positions. Iβm not sure if itβs the result of wiping with rough toilet paper or what. My vagina does seem to be pretty sensitive in general. I do have genital HSV-1 but this doesnβt look anything like how my outbreaks look. Itβs just one red line that burns to the touch to the right of the vaginal opening and another smaller red line on my perineum.
Supposedly this is super common... I've found a handful of posts/comments where folks had this issue and things got bad. I've seen loads more where folks talk about this happening to them, and it not being a big deal, but being scary.
I'm in that scary phase... :( anyone being able to share their experience might really help me right now. It sounds scary to try to avoid infection, it's hard to find pictures because it seems like most dont post any and those who do delete them afterwards... would anyone be willing to share how bad their's was, and what recovery was like? I'd happily accept pics in dm's if you're not comfortable posting publicly too!
Hey everybody, i need some insight here.
Now in the last two months, iβve had painful ejaculation twice and itβs ended up taking a few weeks to recover. My question is why is this happening? Am i doing something wrong? Am i squeezing my PC muscles too hard?
The first time i was having sex with my girlfriend and the second time i was just masturbating with a fleshlight. Iβve masturbated/had sex many times before with no issues but these two times have been an issue.
Any idea what iβm doing wrong? Also the pain is mostly uncomfortable, More so when iβm seated. I feel it in my perineum (around my butt) and the feeling is like you constantly need to make a bowel movement/clenching my butt. Could it be from always sitting on the floor?
Doctor checked for UTI or STD last time and it wasnβt any of those. So iβm assuming itβs my PC muscles?
In the recent months I have been experiencing a pain/discomfort in the area below the testicles - I believe it's called the perineal muscle/perineum area (https://o.quizlet.com/elSqFOtP8P.gazD0J4Q76g.png). I am not sure what is causing this. In the morning sometimes I do feel that my testicles are a bit sore but during the day the discomfort "travels" further down to the muscle/tissue area of the preineum. I sit about 16 hours a day without doing any hard physical labor. I am not on any medication rn. I found out that hot showers and a hot thermophor help with the discomfort. I also feel less pain when laying down compared to sitting. I don't have pain/burning when urinating, no blood in urine, no painful ejaculation, no frequent urge to urinate.
So this is a fairly new symptom since dealing with CPPS/non-bacterial prostatitis for about a while.
It started happening after using a TENS machine on my ankle and sacrum area per the suggestion of my PT for about a week. I've since stopped but now I have a subtle tingling sensation that runs from the perineum to the tip of the penis.
It isn't painful and its pretty subtle but just kind of annoying since it's constant. Wondering if this would be an indicator of a nerve issue. Anyone else with a similar symptom can chime in? I haven't scheduled a neurologist visit yet but I plan to.
I ride an emtb so I tend to go on kind of long rides and spend a lot of time in the saddle. I was washing my ass in the shower after a ride, and felt sort of a swollen vein on my perineum, like the back of my taint near my asshole. When I pressed on it it hurt and felt very pressurized like it could burst. I thought maybe it was a hemorrhoid but after Internet research seems like more of a perineum injury? Anyone else experienced anything like this? Iβm terrified Iβm going to have to have some kind of surgery and or not be able to ride bikes anymore
Update: so my doctor said she thinks I have thrombophlebitis. Itβs like a swollen vein/blood clot thing. She said if it isnβt better in a couple of weeks she wants to do an ultrasound. She said they can break up the clot with a wire or something. I read on the Internet it can be treated with blood thinners but my doctor didnβt tell me this. Iβm supposed to stay off my bike for a week or two
Iβve only masturbated 3-4 times since my symptoms started a month ago, but when I do I have a strong burning sensation all over my perineum, just under my scrotum, and even upper inner thighs. It lasts for less than 5 seconds then is gone. What is this?
Symptoms: Hard flaccid Left curve when flaccid and erect Occasional right testicle pain, scrotal pain Lower back, lower abdomen pain randomly
Since my first OB about a month ago Iβve noticed my perineum has been way more sensitive (sometimes hurts or feels irritated after I wipe) and is dryer than before I got this.
I was having some irritation just now (post shower and using the restroom) and checked to see whatβs going on. Thereβs now a small tear on the perineum skin (no blister or anything that could be swabbed). Iβm new to this and Iβm trying to see if this is an outbreak or just general irritation of the area.
Do any other women here get tears but not OBs? Or when you get a tear you can expect an OB shortly after? Iβd appreciate any advice.
