Would doing a backstitch with two or more strands be too much? Is this a big no-no or has anyone done this before? Sometimes I feel like a single strand is too thin for my liking.

[FO] So this my very first work since childhood. This was for my boyfriend/future husband. And this is my first backstitch. When it was, like, almost already done, I figured out that It requires ONE strand and not two. Well, this is awkward, but I love it and not gonna fix it. 😁

[FO] N*4 is done! Before+after backstitch+banner pic. Finished the Ravenclaw shelf and have now started on Gryffindor. Patterns by CrossStitchAlexaKiss. I made quite some adaptation in this one: changed colours (mainly the purple), added an extra feather on the left, added stripes in the scarf.

How do I get my backstitch to look less like a doted line?
