A list of puns related to "Bachelor of Information Technology"
Hi guys, I need help deciding whether the Bachelor of Information Technology would be a good fit for me.
Having graduated from High School this year, I was unable to meet the Methods Prerequisite for Computer Science at RMIT, So I am trying to explore other options for myself. I have one goal in mind which is to get a job as a Software Developer, Would a Bachelor of Information Technology help me get there, or am I better off doing something else?
I have looked at the Study plan and done some research but I still can't get a good grasp at whether Bachelor of Information Technology is a good choice for becoming a Software Developer.
I would appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

It took me a bit to get my confetti but I'm finally done! I started at WGU back in 2019 but I dropped out shortly after finishing the orientation due to a few things going on in my life at the time and didn't give it much thought again. After a few attempts to move into a higher position at work, my boss told me that the only way I'd be able to was if I had a bachelors degree, so I found my way back to WGU in November 2020. Took me just under a year to finish with WGU where as any brick and mortar near me would have taken me 2-4 years while also working. Finished up my capstone just before the last week of October and I went on a vacation to the Bahamas to celebrate for a bit. Just had a meeting with my boss a little earlier today and they're already trying to give me a promotion to encourage me to stay. Feels good to be done and moving up so quickly!
Iβm in my last year of high school and looking to go into tech at uni. University of Technology offers both Bachelor of IT and Bachelor of IS courses, and I have no clue how to differentiate the two. The course descriptions contain meaningless info and are almost identical. Anyone here with insight and can differentiate the two? Which one will lead to better job opportunities?
I can't deal with my major subjects damn itπββοΈ
And I was wondering what universities offer the best program? I was thinking of going to Concordia, or possibly University of Lethbridge if need be. My goal is to become a database admin. Any advice is welcome.
My community college offers bachelors of science in information systems degree and I know that most software engineering usually require a bachelors degree in computer science. Does the degree have to be specifically computer science? I put the link below and would really like everyoneβs inputπ Bachelors Degree Link
Hi all,
I am currently undertaking a Bachelor of Information Technology and I am doing a core unit being SIT112 - Data Science Concepts. Iβll be very blunt and honest; this unit is draining me mentally and physically and I hate it. The unit itself is not structured well and the Unit Chair is unhelpful and lazy. I am surely convinced I will fail this unit as the first assignment is not great at all and is worth 25% of my overall grade. I have seemed help online, tutors, everything you can think of Iβve tried getting help from them. So my question is what happens if you fail a core unit? I have 3 credit points as of now from my transferred course and I have looked over my course plan and SIT112 isnβt a prerequisite for anything and the units I did in the last course were SIT based too. Would I have to repeat this unit if I fail it? Iβm just so lost and hopefully someone can give me some insight into this, thank you.
Hi all,
A bit of backstory about me. I did 1.5 years of a Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering and I transferred to a Bachelor of Information Technology as I felt like this peaked my interest more compared to what I endured during Mechatronics. I did however get decent grades during that degree and I was hoping to do the same during the IT degree.
I am wondering about the difficulty level of Information Technology compared to engineering in general. Those who have done IT, what are the units like after Tri 1 first year? I would like to get Distinctions in many units, but I still donβt know if I have chosen the wrong degree. I like technology, I have a lot of experience with technology and have delved in coding (C++ mainly). Hopefully someone can give me more insight on what I am to expect (I am interested in majoring in cyber security)
Just wondering if anyone is doing or has done this course and how they found it overall? I'm considering computer science but I'm not sure about the whole Information Technology part of the course. Any info (general overview, how it's taught, career opportunities etc...) is gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
As the title suggests, I start the Bachelor's of IT program in a few weeks on May 1st. I am looking for tips on what to expect and any advice.
I do have IT experience as my current job is a Technical Support Coordinator. I do carry 7 certs, with a few of them transferring in. (My certs are CompTIA A+, Server+, Security+, Microsoft MTA Server, MTA Networking, and MTA Security, and I have LPI Linux Fund. cert. ) and transferred in a few gen eds.
Excited to get started and get this Bachelors out of the way.
Iβm interested in going into a career in Cyber Security, software engineering/development, or another tech related job. I have the opportunity to get two bachelors degrees, one in Information Technology and the other in Cyber Security or I could go to a different college and get a bachelors in only Computer Science.
Side note: it is cheaper and would only take me 4 years to get the double major. Getting the first degree in the double major will take three years and getting the second degree will be one more year.
Question for those who have studied the bachelor of IT - would you recommend this course to someone who doesn't have any experience in the area, or advise against it? I applied for this course as a fall-back and received an offer, but am worried about jumping into it without any prior knowledge.
Directed to degrees and fields relating but not limited to BIT, BE, BSc.CSIT, BCE and such (bachelor's degree, undergraduate level).
Also, what are some decent occupations to consider with:
Please consider the above options as OR, not as AND.
PS: This is my throwaway account, but I do need advice.
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has any insight to how the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree is compared to other IT degrees in Sydney.
I'm currently studying Commerce / Computer Science at UNSW, found out pretty quickly that I'm not interested in commerce and didn't like the maths in computer science, also didn't want to focus solely on programming. Thought about transferring to Bachelor of Information Systems at UNSW but I quite like the course structure and flexibility with UTS's course in regards to choosing majors and also double majoring if I wish.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Guys
I am currently second year in BScIT with the diploma and majoring in enterprise systems development but wanting to switch to bachelor of computing science and I need help.
I definitely want to be a software developer/engineer and I heard that doing science in IT won't help me much with getting into that path and I know for a fact that bachelor computer science is more wanted when it comes to hiring software developers. But I am having concerns about the bachelor of computing science at UTS.
Firstly, It's called "computing" science instead of "computer" science, some people say they are the same and some people say they are different so I am really not sure if this "computing" phrase will cause me issues with getting a job as It's not an industry standard name.
Secondly, bachelor of computing science at UTS was only launched back in 2017 which means It's pretty new, also, I am not sure if that will affect my job hunt in the future as employers might not be satisfied with a bachelors degree that's only 6 years old (speaking as I graduate which is about 2.5 years away from now if I do compSci)
Finally, I am okay with the maths stuff and the honours, I have no issues with that.
I also don't wanna transfer to bachelor of computer science at UNSW as I am pretty sure they will screw me over for the credit transfer and push back like I am starting as a first-year student.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I assume I have to start with an entry level job, but I'm lost where to start looking and what kind of IT jobs will accept someone with zero experience. All jobs I have worked before are not IT related.
Thanks in advance

So I about to peruse the Bachelors in IT form WGU, I was wondering what kind of jobs yall have gotten after getting it and do you feel as if it helped you? I already have security plus, and my plan is to move on to my masters in IT after I finish my bachelors. Then because I already have certifications and classes done I want to get a bachelors in a more specialized field, like data assurance or cloud computing. What do you folks think of my plan and could you please help with my question?
Hi everyone,
I am taking the Bach of IT (cloud-based) at Deakin Uni. Any advise on timetable organization or tips and trick for me to pass all the credit 'on-time'.
If you want to team up with me for assignment, please comment!
A bit about me: I am 23yo - male, working as IT support (got a degree in IT), have been to Melbourne for 4 years, willing to grab a beer with u anytime after 5PM :D, and finally, taking this degree for the purpose of entering the Master of IT and get a lecture job in Uni.
Willing to work extra hard to get DI or HD.
Thank you everyone for reading this and have a g'day.
what should I do in order to be prepared and what skills should I already know

Somebody pointed me to this link. I'm looking at getting an associates in IT but this program only requires 10 courses to get a bachelors and that would be able what's needed to get an associates assuming you didn't take any gen Ed's. I wondering how it's possible to take such few courses and still get a bachelors. It seemed odd to me unless I'm missing something.
Hi All,
I'm looking for a career change and am very interested in IT. I would like to obtain a diploma in Information Technology in order to befome a level 1 service desk operator. From here I can decide if I'm best to complete the bachelor to open more career paths but am confident this will get my foot in the door.
As I work full time, I need to complete this online, which most Uni's in Australia offer. My questions are:
Has anyone completed this degree or something similar? If so, i would love to hear about your experiences.
Any recommendations on the Uni? Deakin, RMIT, Swinburne and La Trobe all offer this degree 100% online for roughly the same price. Do any of these institutions specailse in IT or online study?
I'm looking to enroll as early as this month. My long term goal is to work in cyber security or programming.
Thank you!
Hi all, just asking in behalf of my friend as hes into computers and internet he wants some insight regarding JCU's IT degree. I would appreciate it if there are any former or current students here who have studied the degree to give comment on the quality of the course, facilities and lecturers. Cheers!
Hey all,
I work for a large global manufacturing company, Iβm currently a machine operator and make 50k a year. I am going to talk to HR tomorrow about the possibility of tuition reimbursement for a B.S. in IT or a Bachelor of IT (online).
https://catalog.georgiasouthern.edu/undergraduate/allen-paulson-engineering-computing/information-technology/information-technology-bit-online/
This is the program I am considering, if there is no tuition help, I am still considering this program and would like your feedback. I wanted to choose the concentration of cyber security, as well as a security + cert or any other recommended and in demand certs. Does this sound like a solid plan? Is this program worth much in the IT world? Optimally, Iβd like for HR to say yes, and I can segway into something within the company where I can take time to get certs and hone my skills and move into something different later on.
Hey guys,
I'm considering studying the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Diploma of Professional Practice. I was wondering whether I get I touch with someone who is studying this course; I have a few questions and also wanted to know about your experiences and how you found the course overall. That would really helpful, thanks guys!
Hi, so to complete the picture I completed an Associate Degree in Information Technology in 2012. The course is two years full time and is a pathway to the final year of Bachelor of Information Technology. I have not undertaken any study since then worked in the given field.
I have just received an offer for the Bachelor of IT with enough exemption credits to go straight to third year and final year.
As I have been away from study for a while, I'm curious to hear from students who have either completed or are currently undertaking the final year of the Bachelor of IT. Is it realistic for someone to jump straight in after such a long gap from study or am I going to need to do a lot of brushing up. I dont feel it would take much to catch up on the programming side of it. I had high grades and have retained some of the knowledge.
I can probably only afford one year in full time study and would have to quit my job so its a significant decision. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
