From the '60s to the late '90s the rate of childhood obesity grew about 3X.
Obesity is a material health risk, and related to diabetes among other diseases. Other nations faced with similar expansions of the national waistline have had success by restricting the advertising of food to children. See the success Chile has had recently in the linked article.

Regulations on advertising to children for other products, such as cigarettes have proven legal. The U.S. should implement a similar regulation of food advertising to children to fight the obesity epidemic.

Was this a universally held belief? Were they more disliked or iconic than professions like lawyers? Or were they just another white-dollar job?
Children are by far the most influential demographic in all of advertising and channels like Disney and Nickelodeon have made millions off the exploitation of growing minds who do not know any better. Youtube is probably more relevant today but it still stands. The exploitation of young minds for profits should not be allowed on a federal level.
Scrolling through instagram and i’m shocked at the amount of people who create instagram accounts of their baby’s and children. Not only do some of these people make instagram accounts for their children but they also dress them up and pose them next to their own brand in order to advertise. I think it’s absolutely disgusting that these underage kids are being made into human puppets for their parents to make money and profit off of. They SHOULD lose custody of their children or at least be held accountable by the law.
