A list of puns related to "Warp And Weft"
I was thinking it's a very neat little alliterative pairing, and I know literally every culture has done, uhhhh, weaving, so I'm curious to see if there's similar pairings!
If I do a weft facing 2/1 twill, will I use twice as much weft yarn as warp?
Hi! I am a beginner weaver and i want to be able to calculate how much yarn i need for a project.
I have not been able to find the answer to this simple question: Is the amount of warp the same as the weft if the pattern is regular two-shaft weaving and both are the same yarn? I guess you would use more weft if you beat it down hard, but based on that the distance between all threads is the same, would the ratio be 50/50?
I've really liked how indigo warp/weft fades look and I've been unsure of what to buy. My budget is around 210 dollars, with some wiggle room. I prefer slim, but not super skinny fits (UB101 fits me pretty well) and I have a preference for midweights. Thanks for the help.
So I'm looking into getting a pair of Gustin jeans. I've heard good things about the quality and I can't argue with the price. For those that are not familiar with this brand, they have a few kinds of fabrics and you "back" a certain kind of fabric by essentially preordering it. When enough people back it, they go to production and make it for everyone. If not enough people back it, the project is scrapped.
Right now they have 3 kinds of fabric available. One of them is a "natural selvedge with natural warp and weft." I've provided the link below. How is this different from other raw denim and how is it better? For an example of the other fabric I'm considering, see the second link I have provided.

Hello, long time lurker. This is my first time contributing to the community. This is an XXL sauce zhan 516xx (44). I weigh about 200 lbs and I am 6'2" I've washed this 4 times in a top load machine without a spin cycle. It was purchased in July of 2018. I've since bought a type 2 (August 2019) that I've been wearing and wanted to share this while I had it with me at work.
My fades are typical for this type of work. I'm at an industrial sand mine. So imagine everything you work on feeling like sand paper lol. I also cut wood with an axe and carry it stacked high. This jacket has performed very well for me. Hope you enjoy!
Pictures first. Front Front detail Cuff detail BackBack and repair detail
I picked these up the day UB dropped them. I had been looking for a heavyweight pair to rotate in with the UB101's that had started blowing out with some regularity, and wanted something somewhat interesting. The red weft caught my eye, it wasn't something I had seen often with heavier denim.
As you can see in the front pictures the red weft is starting to pop through on the more heavily worn parts. I'm planning on letting those parts do their own thing for a bit rather than darning them. I might encircle them with some stitching to prevent spread at some point.
The cuffs are really the most interesting part of the red weft so far. When they were new they were a bright pop of red and have really toned down. It's definitely still a good bit of color, but it's starting to look more subtle and I like it.
As far as the usual stuff goes the 21oz denim was my heaviest so far and was definitely a project right from the start. I'd say it took about a month to get them comfortable and about 3 months to get really settled in. They did really sell me on heavyweight denim though. However obnoxious the break-in period is, the fit once you're there is next level. The fades are a whole different thing as well.
The back detail picture best represents the indigo loss on the most worn areas, there really isn't much left and the red weft is showing more and more frequently at this point. I've been happy with the overall fades so far, the contrast has been solid and the heavier weight tends to crease more consistently after a wash.
As shown on the back detail picture these have blown out the crotch and I've used my crappy sewing machine to darn them. I'm not the best at these repairs, and 21oz denim is hard on weaker machines, but I'm happy enough with the results. I haven't washed them since, but once I do I know the thread will fluff and fill in and be a bit less noticeable. The back detail also shows how intense the indigo loss is on the most worn areas.
They're about where I wanted to get them to as far as fading is concerned so I plan to wear them to work making cabinets for a few more months while I break in my Bravestar Slubnoxious 2's on the weekends, then I'll rotate the Slubnoxious in to daily wear to work on them
... keep reading on reddit β‘I've probably been so quick doing things in the quick menu when I'm on a planet's surface that I didn't see that the anomaly icon had slightly changed the way it looks.
I hover over it and it says warp back to the anomaly.
WHAT!!!!... I've always thought you had to fly to it as well.
Well as least it made me laugh that i thought i knew it all and turns out i still don't know everything in the game.

It's not difficult to outrun it. It's not difficult to shoot it down. It can't run laps around the map with it unless you exclusively warp. It doesn't refund energy on kills. It doesn't heal on kills It only heals a minuscule amount.
It is underwhelming compared to other roaming supers, such as Juggernaut, Dawnblade, and Spectral. And yet, dying to it never feels as unfair or hopeless as the other three, and unlike the other three, I feel sorry that Warpers get shredded by Lord of Wolves. The others? Good riddance!
I know supers are getting a damage reduction nerf in Shadowkeep, but I don't feel like the problems end there. Perhaps I'm not alone in thinking this.
