A list of puns related to "Venous Blood"
When I had my right heart cath, there was also a portion where I exercised for 5 minutes. They took blood samples at rest and during the exercise portion. At rest my venous blood gases were normal, but during exercise they were not.
During exercise, my lactate increased from 0.8 to 3.9, my pH dropped from 7.32 to 7.22, my O2 increased from 70% to 75%, and my CO2 increased from 50 to 59. Doctors don't know why I seem to be using anaerobic metabolism to fuel the exercise. The resulting acidosis would explain some, though not all, of my symptoms, but without knowing why it's happening, it's just interesting data.
Just thought I'd share.
When I press on the spot I feel the small vibration I can keep the erection without effort.
I am not diagnosed with venous but I think I might have it. Weirdly, I didnβt had any injury and I wasnβt born with it.
And secondly, why the faulty vein doesnβt heal?
I am 24/F 5,0 110 pounds
My subclavian vein is narrowed and is completely compressed and blocking blood flow & I am risk of a blood clot. My subclavian vein is narrowed between the first rib and clavicle.. However I just found out that I have a huge lipoma in my chest wall & am wondering if thatβs whatβs causing my compression by pushing on my nerves etc. This is what it says β there is a moderate size lipoma anterior to the inferior aspect of the left specula , superficial of chest wall musculature and deep to the superior aspect of the latissimus .β..... please help me as I am awaiting seeing a TOS specialist. I am unable to ask her yet and am really hoping this huge lipoma is the reason for the compression.
Me: 34F, white, 5β2β, 140 lbs, primary complaint: kidney infection not responding to antibiotics, reason Iβm on this thread: wondering about weird lab results
Yesterday (8/11/21), I went to the ER after developing nausea on top of having a diagnosed kidney infection. I have an underlying condition (vesicoureteral reflux) that makes this more likely.
The PA there ordered a urinalysis, urine culture, and various blood tests. Ultimately, they changed up the antibiotic prescription I was already on, and insisted I follow up with my nephrologist once the urine culture was available. Then they released me.
This afternoon, the PA released the results of various tests (except urine culture, which isnβt complete yet) to my digital chart online. I was looking through them and I am completely puzzled by the results of the venous blood gas test. It looks like...they confused me with a dead person? Is it possible to be alive and walking around and have an oxyhemoglobin of 35%? Can anyone help me understand this?
I also had a virtual appointment with a nephrologist this afternoon and he reaffirmed the course of action established by the ER. I forgot to ask him about the blood gas results! I still feel like someone karate-kicked me in the left kidney.

Iβm excited to be here today to answer your questions about cancer-associated thrombosis in recognition of World Cancer Day. My research and clinical work concentrate on venous thromboembolism (VTE), anticoagulation and bleeding disorders. In addition to contributing to more than 190 peer-reviewed publications, Iβve also been involved in contributing to a better understanding of the etiology of VTE (blood clots) in cancer by identifying biomarkers and clinical risk factors for cancer-associated VTE. Another area of my research focuses on atrial fibrillation in special patient populations, such as cancer and chronic kidney disease. Follow me on Twitter at @Cihan_Ay_MD. Iβve been playing around with acupressure at home using a guidebook for pressure points - canβt find references to anything specifically related to venous insufficiency in this book though (Acupuncture Points Handbook by Deborah Bleecker.)
I have seen a lot of relief in so many other ailments using the points shown in this book so I really wanted to see if I can begin working on undoing the spider veins on my legs which I know are a side effect of venous insufficiency from when I used to smoke and was pretty overweight.
I am thinking that working with points that focus on moving stagnant blood might help, but again I have no idea for sure what could help with this specific concern. I wanted to see if anyone knew specific pressure points that could help with vasodilation in the limbs or anything else that will help with venous insufficiency.
I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my second baby and since I had GD with my first one, I fully expect to have it with this one as well.
I did an early 3 hour GTT test this week and passed, but 2 of the 4 numbers (1hr/2hr) were a little close. My OBGYN uses capillary blood even for the 3 hour GTT test, which I just found out is not correct, as capillary blood sugar tends to be higher than the venous ones. I generally tend to eat healthy, and fully expect to fail when I redo the test at 28 weeks, so I am not super worried either way, but really more curious. What did your OBGYN use for your 3hr GTT?
