A list of puns related to "University Admission"
This is my third year as an interviewer. There is no mechanism for students to leave feedback about their experience to the school or the interviewer. I think thatβs a problem. Talk to me about some of your interview pet peeves and what you wish your alumni interviewers would do.
Iβll answer any questions you have along the way.
Do universities in France consider anything about prospective students besides their academic achievements (grades, test scores, etc.) in admissions?
For example, in the US, many universities consider some or all of these factors in assessing whether to offer students a place in their university:
Saw this on /r/science and thought it was applicable to this sub.

I recently submitted my Western IVEY AEO application and was wondering if Turnitin detects work from other universities? I submitted a portion of my "Pandemic Impact" for the Laurier BBA ABS application and was wondering if that would be considered as "Self-Plagiarism".
I'm like scared as heck
I think they should. It reduces stress on the student, since they know what to expect from a university and where to apply.
But that's just my opinion, and would like to read other opinions on the matter.

The University of Pennsylvania was supposed to release admission decisions to their MS CIS program today for everyone who applied before the early deadline (1st November). Here is what it says on the admissions website:
Screenshot from the MS CIS Admissions Page
I applied before the deadline, and haven't heard back from them. Has anyone heard back from them or gotten in touch with the admissions committee? When do you think we could expect application updates?
And I genuinely can't wait until then, cuz then my 3rd year will miss out too. So I'm looking to join in March, somewhere in Europe for cheap price both living and college fees wise. Please help me out, I've been under alot of stress. Thanks in advance
my_qualifications:
10th(ICSE): 96%
12th(HSC): 92%
MHT-CET: 95.1 percentile
I have currently taken admission in VIT Vellore in Computer Science Engineering with Specialization in Data Science, coz those folks started the admission way before. The MHT-CET results came out and I have half decent marks and looking at the first institutional round of D.J Sanghvi, I might be able to get a computer related branch there. I am really liking the exposure and opportunities that are available at VIT Vellore but what I don't like is the unnecessary and strict burden of assignments, quizzes and exams. The workload is just too much to be able to have enough time for learning our own stuff or actually take advantage of the exposure and take part in competitions and seminars.
Placements are not very important to me since I wish to go to masters abroad anyways. I need to have a 9+ cgpa in my undergrad to get into good universities abroad, doing that in vit is quite a challenge since the marking is relative and the workload is a lot so you have to constantly stay way above the average and moreover people don't help you with notes or anything too because the marking is relative. I really despise that grading system and then add to that the overcrowding and the overwhelming competition to get into clubs like GDSC. As bitter as these facts are, the opportunities are quite sweet, you get to meet people doing different stuff and gain knowledge about that, you get to learn about various fields in seminars and take part in interesting competitions.
Now, coming to my other choice, DJ Sanghvi, it's an autonomous college affiliated with Mumbai University and I am told that maintaining a 9+ cgpa is relatively very easy since the marking is absolute and the workload is not a lot as compared to vit. So I know a guy who was at vit vellore for the first few months and then for the afore mentioned reasons, left vit and joined DJ Sanghvi and is in third year now. He told me that DJ Sanghvi has equally good clubs and chapters but has an edge over vit in this aspect since the number of people is less so it's easier to get into these clubs as compared to vit, I don't know how true this is so it would be great if someone can confirm this point. I will get more free time to study and do courses about topics that actually matter and time to take part in a lot competitions and hackathons. On top of this, since I am from Mumbai, I will get to stay at home.
So from a masters abroad point of

Hi, everyone! I am a current J2 student about to finish my A levels in a weeks time.
Can I ask, should I wish to apply to Ivy League Universities, can I apply for SAT during NS or should I do it like before? This is because I remember during a briefing that there was a difference between the two timings but I can't recall what the diff is.
Also, can someone explain to me the process of applying for these universities? Is it possible to say - take a course in NUS and at the same time study a overseas university course through an online medium? (sry if this sounds dumb HAHAHA I am not entirely sure about all this stuff)
And are there any Singaporeans who went to these unis in this subreddit? Can y'all share ur experience? Btw I am a 3H2 1H1 student. Will this like prevent me from applying for any of these unis? (I remember for Oxbridge u need 4H2? )
Thank you so much!
Iβve seen people post acceptances and rejections on gradcafe but have not heard anything for my application. Very anxious about it, if itβs a good thing or a bad thing!
Hello, I am an IP student currently enrolled in a JC. This year I am about to start my year as a proper JC 1/ IP5 student.
I have always had an interest in arts, so in the future, I am planning to go for an interior design course, or a course related to arts and design in university ( either local / international ) As arts and design courses in university usually require a portfolio to get accepted, I am quite worried that my one year coursework in H2 Arts in JC will not help. My school also did not offer olevel arts, so the only thing I could put into my portfolio would be my JC coursework. The reason I had enrolled into a JC was because I heard that it is way easier to get into universities through JCs. However recently I have been feeling like JC might not be ideal, as it doesn't focus solely on arts, and it might not prepare me well for my entrance into university.
I do not have much knowledge on the art courses in poly, and am wondering if it is easier to get into a university through polytechnic or junior college.
Also, Is it difficult to drop out of IP/JC and into Poly? Would I have to take OLevels?
Thank you for your time!!
This is for University of Saskatchewan for a Bachelor's in Engineering. The requirements state that a C or higher grade is needed for A-level Physics and Maths. However I've heard most universities in Canada require you to take atleast 3 A-level subjects to be accepted. However it doesn't exclusively state that in the University of Saskatchewan's official website - does this mean just 2 A-level subjects(Physics and Maths) are enough in order to be considered for acceptance? Or do I need to take a 3rd A-level subject too?
Here's the link: https://admissions.usask.ca/requirements/deadlines.php#Requirementsanddeadlines
This is what is written there:
"1. Required grade 12 classes
C or higher in GCE/IGCSE/GCE O-Level orΒ GCE A-Level
Chemistry
C or higher in GCE A-Level
Physics Mathematics
A-level Chemistry is recommended"
I've tried emailing the University and haven't gotten any replies yet but time is running out and I'm anxious now:/
I'm Applying to NUS, and I have above average stats and am a Singaporean. I'm quite sure I would get in if not for my.. unusual circumstances. However, I might get Pes F for a combination of mental and physical issues. I've been asked by my doctor if I want to PES F before but I said no but my parents are now pushing me and I'm scared the doctor might ask again. I'm only like 6 months into my service. I know my mental health issues (adjustment disorder diagnosed) will on its own result in problems in the civil sector and insurance etc, but I am most concerned about university. Would NUS discriminate against me due to my health status?
Hi I'm desparately looking for people who is willing to help read my 300 words personal statement since this is the first time I write one Haha. I need many criticisms before I submit mine. The topic is about an exceptional achievement that highlights my academic and CCA interests that would be of value to the school community.
Hi guys,
I'm not sure if anyone will see this but I submitted my portfolio to them on the 13th of December, but still haven't heard anything back from them. All the other universities have already offered me an interview, but UAL are taking so mucb longer.
Do you know when they'll start getting back to me to offer an interview?
Thank you so much!
Hi, I know I'm overreacting but like I only have 4 months left for My IGCSE and I'm not all prepared and I've already predicted that I'll not get great marks, I couldn't decide whether I should take extended or Core, since you know family pressure, I had to take extended for physics mathematics, chemistry and biology. Now I've to give my EVM, Hindi, and English exam next month, and I'm totally not prepared for English and EVM . However, I've decided to to start studying now 3 exam for Feb/March and 5 in May/June. Dealing with ADHD is just getting more difficult for me. With all the pressure from school and Home is just draining me. However I'll continue to do A levels after this. Also this question rose in my mind after reading some thing. I know this was too much, but please don't come at me for being so stupid. Also do you think 4 months enough to complete the portion and still get good marks.
Iβm 18+ and all participants must be 18+ as well!

I heard it from a friend, but I don't know if it is true. That would be very different from western universities where fitness is not part of the education and admissions system unless you are recruited specifically for the purpose of being an athlete. I heard that students are expected to be able to run 1km in less than 4 minutes.
Does anyone know if this is true?
I was planning on getting a second bachelors degree at Franklin in computer science.
I am graduating from Ohio state in the spring. I will be getting a history degree. What is the general process like when applying? I have a lot of credits at osu around 200 so is that a hinderance? Also my gpa their is only at a 2.8.
What are the odds I would get in?
Hey, as you know there are lots of folks does not have prior education but they have in hand experience in the field, so does experience can be used to enrolled in university or is there is certification which can help them to take admission in university for education?
Afternoon, everybody, I have a question, I am applying to AE, and in march I am going to take the entrance exam, for you guys which did the test, do you guys think the pre university EdX courses on math and physics are a good preparation?
Thanks in advance for your time.
Which universities(any country, any city around the world) provide early guaranteed admissions to Year 10 students? I am an Australian Permanent Resident and Indian citizen.
Universities in Australia do this thing where Year 11 students can show their academic excellence and achieve a guaranteed place in a program.
I am mainly looking for mechanical engineering programs to join after year 12, it would be beneficial for me if I can secure an early place in a good university soon this year in Year 10.
I would appreciate your help.
Hi there, I've just completed my A levels and I began to start thinking if I should accept the invitation to apply for early admission for the few local Unis. If there is any senior who has experienced this, please help :( I am unsure of the benefits of early admission other than securing a place early and apparently I think you have to select the courses that you want to take in uni when you apply? Problem is I still have no idea what I want to take in Uni and I initially wanted to spend my 2 years in NS thinking about it carefully until I receive these invitations for early admission. I feel like it would be quite wasted if I were to miss this opportunity, so I'm feeling quite conflicted. Please advise!!
