Temporary Insanity Puns

I need to vent. It helps to get it out here instead of resorting to something destructive. My ex dumped me because he says he can't commit to me, and needs to have more casual flings. Whatever. I have a few months until I move out, so I have to live with him temporarily. Fortunately we each have our own room. We keep to ourselves, don't talk or text. Going NC even under the same roof. However, the times I do need to talk to him, I end up feeling my blood boil. I have thoughts of destruction: wanting to slam doors, break things, and destroy his things. This is not me, and has never been characteristic of me. Unfortunately at times I do lose my cool. And I get the sense that he uses this as fuel to make him get over me faster. How can he be so cool, calm, and almost seemingly happy while I'm going through hell for what he put me through for years. I'm sure he's justifying my mean, unkind, angry outburts to use porn, to find hook ups. It makes me sick. I hate to say this but I feel like he doesn't deserve to be happy (atleast not now, while I'm still living here). It's almost like he thinks it's ok to dump me, after i've invest 6 years of my life to love him. I get that it's the best thing for us, to break up, but godamnit don't look so enlightened. Even during this break up you haven't shown any empathy. I'm supposed to be totally cool with you breaking up with me after you cheated for 2 years. Yeah I have zero reason to be angry *sarcasm*. Please tell me how you dealt with the rage, or share if you've had moments of tempoary insanity.

guuuyyysss im going absolutely crazy. so i have a neighbor that BLASTS his music 24/7. No i am not exaggerating, the music is blaring every single minute of every single day. when he's home, when he's not home, doesn't matter, music always going.

we have ran into him in the hallway and asked, very nicely, if he "could be so kind to maybe turn the music down even just at night possibly or when you're not home?" And this man looks at me and immediately the"oh no what have i done" feeling takes over me, and he just goes offfff "Don't tell me what i can and can't do! The music is fine! stay out of it!." so no we decided probably best not to confront that crazy man again.

2 weeks go by, no change, music still going at the same volume without fail so we called the cops. The first time we called the cops, they came but couldn't do anything since it wasn't late enough in the night. We say "okay, we'll see y'all later." 1am comes around and we call, cops come, and they knock on my neighbors door and knock, and knock for 20 minutes; bang bang bang bang, no answer. cops look at us, we look at them and they say "well we can't break the door down do you want us to keep knocking?" and we just say no cause we know this stubborn ass man ain't budging.

The next day, despite our better judgement, we decided to knock on his door and honestly at this rate willing to beg, offer to take his trash out every day, fucking pay for laundry whatever we could think of! when he DID answer the door we started off asking so super nicely begging and he cut us off and said "YOU CALLED THE COPS?! I'm SUING YOU!! HOW DARE YOU!" we then just turn around, cry a little bit and accept defeat.

As i was telling my friend she advised i go to reddit and share my neighbor from hell. Honestly i'm too lazy to do anything like suing type of deal and i don't want to get anyone in trouble cause then you gotta give statements and all that and i don't feel like it. what i do feel like is doing something back or prank i can do to this man that is equally as annoying and terrible but legal? suggestions welcomed! thanks for lasting til the end.

First of all, I'm gonna be talking about Throne of Bhaal (ToB) gear a lot, but you can obviously use Shadows of Amn (SoA) gear to reach AC that's very close to what I'm showing and, considering how much weaker enemies generally are in SoA, it should be just as effective. Also, even though I'll make no other mention of BG1/BGEE, the principles apply just the same and if you're smart you can do some nutty stuff with AC even in that game (basically, just be aware of how AC stacking works).

Now, let's being by taking a look at some of the more scary thac0s in the trilogy (actual thac0, with STR bonuses etc. all accounted for) to know what we're dealing with exactly (this is with Sword Coast Stratagems/SCS installed and on Insane difficulty, no 'tactical challenges', so your numbers might be different):

-Abazigal's dragon form: -13 thac0, slashing damage (for some reason, his human form has -29 thac0 in my game... It might be some SCS nonsense even though it's not supposed to super buff things, whatever, his human form dies really quickly)

-Demogorgon: -22 thac0, crushing damage

-Melissan: -18 thac0, piercing damage (crits on 19/20, at least with SCS installed, don't know about vanilla)

Now, if you think -20 is the best AC you can get in the game... That doesn't look like it does a lot, right? Melissan would only miss you with a critical miss anyway, so what's the point?

Well, that's the thing, AC doesn't actually stop at -20. That's only a soft cap for 'general AC' (ie non damage-specific AC, that isn't limited to slashing/piercing etc.) and it doesn't even affect every type of 'general AC'.

The bg wiki's armor class page is getting updated (not by me) with some more precise info if you want to check it out, but basically...

HERE'S HOW AC STACKING WORKS:

You add up:

General AC that goes down to -20: general AC (rings of protection, armor, cloak of the sewers etc.), save a few exceptions.

General AC exceptions that can take your number lower than -20 (it even shows up properly in the inventory screen!): AC from Dexterity and single-weapon style bonuses, which means the lowest general AC you can get is -28 (-20 from the first soft cap, -6 from 24+ DEX and -2 from two pips in single-weapon style).

Specific AC that can go even beyond that: it's all situational stuff like AC vs slashing/piercing/etc. and AC vs evil (from protection from evil). There's actually a limit to each of this as well and it's -20 for each

I just passed my boyfriend on the road and he didn’t wave at me. I almost called him to tell him what an asshole he is and how much I hate him. And then I remembered he did absolutely nothing wrong, I’m just intermittently fucking crazy. Typically I am very laid back and easy going. My first pregnancy I did not understand what people meant about being emotional but booooooy do I understand now. I have cried about pizza, gotten mad about nothing, cried about my dog who is perfectly healthy and about 1,000 other things. Only 22 more weeks to go 😂😩

Hi Y’all, First time GM here and I’ve been trying to figure out what the order of operations is on this. I understand that when a PC encounters something of the mythos for the first time they automatically get +5 Cthulhu Mythos skill, in addition to whatever they might get from the encounter. Okay. Got it. Also, PCs lose SAN equal to any Cthulhu Mythos skill gained in addition to any SAN lost from the encounter. Okay. Got it. Anytime a PC loses 5 or more SAN at once they go temporarily insane.

So that sounds to me like the first time any PC encounters the mythos they’re automatically going to go temporarily insane. Is that right?

Not wanting to start anything, but certain subjects of recent libel suits being announced could probably convince me that they are not of sound mind. Would that have any relevance in any type of civil suit?

Is someone who is found to be temporary insanity when committing a crime going to be prohibited from purchasing a firearm?

New Keeper here. Just have a few doubts about Sanity rolls and temporary insanity. Definitely one of the most fascinating mechanics in the game for my own taste. But the Keeper Handbook isn't too clear on what happens if investigators go through a Bout of Madness during combat, and I might have one of those instances in my next session.

The handbook states that temporary or indefinite insanity (hence, resulting in a Bout of Madness) involve investigators leaving the place and going somewhere else for some time. Does that happen in the middle of combat too? What if it's not possible to leave a room? And what happens if there are other investigators around?

My investigators rarely fight monsters alone, so I'm thinking of possible outcomes in case someone ends up going insane in front of the group.

I'm also struggling to quantify 1d10 "rounds" for Bouts of Madness in real time, outside of combat. I seem to understand 1d10 hours is the duration of indefinite insanity, but the rounds for Bouts of Madness are stated to be different.

The more I read and write, the more I’ve come to analyze

TI is looking to recruit dedicated raiders interested in AQ (9/9) and Naxx going forward as well as casual players that want to cruise through MC/BWL/ZG/AQ20. We are competitive and expect each to carry their own, as well as be prepared and on time for raids. Outside of raiding we’re a chill group with a sense of humor and we’re looking to grow our community.

-Raid scheduling is Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Invites start at 6:30 PM server time (PST) and pulls begin at 7 PM. Currently Mondays and Tuesdays are for AQ40/MC/BWL. Tuesday will always be our main raid night. AQ20 and ZG will likely be done on Thursday/Fridays and Sundays but again things may change.

-Looting is done via Loot Council. Showing up on time and performing well as well as being active in the guild and the community as a whole will determine your eligibility for loot (officers do not get loot first if you are curious). Upon joining there is a 2 week period where you are less eligible for loot. This is done to give you time to acclimate to the guild, show us what you can do and determine if this is the place for you. If all goes well you’ll get your veteran status afterward and be a part of the core raid team.

-You will need to have a mic and discord. As for addons you should have Details(Tiny Threat) and DBM.

Hi all, if a character was to receive a bout of madness or an indefinite insanity can they gain another whilst 1 is still active? Just been hunting for information and can't seem to find it is all :)

Was thinking a Mental Blast that does low damage but as a secondary effect causes insanity, how should that be done?
