A list of puns related to "Spalling"
Hi r/HomeImprovement! I have a potential issue with a deck installed last summer. A single footer is starting to crumble/spall (none of the others). Not sure if it was a result of our harsh winter, rain, or what. Also having a hard time telling if its just surface spall or a deeper issue. Is this something that I can just apply a sealant to or does it need to be ripped out and re-done?

I am going to push the contractor on this, but overall unsure of the severity.
Hi! I had a pool built back in February-ish and I recently notice that there are spots in the plaster that are beginning to chip off. Here are some of the areas:

I was reading up on this and it seems like it could be spalling that is occurring? Is this something that I should be concerned about immediately? Are there any problems that could arise from this in the near future?
I think my pool is still under warranty so Iβm hoping the builder can handle it, however Iβd like to wait until the end of the summer to have any work done. Also itβd be good to know how I can avoid this happening again, if there is something I should/shouldnβt be doing.
now that suffering Soviets got new tank and ammo?
There's a video on Youtube showing a shell from the American 76mm gun hitting the side of a Panther on the testing range and ricocheting. Despite the shell ricocheting, the Panther's ammo racks still detonated. Unfortunately, I can't find that video again. However, something similar happened to me. I was playing an M3A1 Stuart and shot at a Panzer III using the capped shell. The shell hit the part that is slightly sloped, and the hit camera clearly said that the shell ricocheted and showed said shell bouncing off that part of the armor. Despite that, the hit camera also showed the crewmen turning orange and red. Has Gaijin implemented armor spalling due to non-penetrating hits on some tanks? Has this happened to anyone else?
You're, your... there, their, they're... the list goes on and on. You come to a largely text based platform and type thousands of characters of idiocy and ignorance. Spellchecker is a thing. Dictionaries are real. Just walk upstairs and ask your mommy; maybe she can spell? I get sick to puke f*cking death of people espousing their philosophy and dispensing their little wisdoms like dime store Buddhas when they can't even figure out the not so subtle intricacies of what is often their native language.
I'm looking for advice on some brick spalling. I just moved in. It's the interior common foundation wall of a 1880s semi-detached (Hamilton, Canada). There are spalled bricks on an 10 foot length of the foundation wall, all of the affected bricks are about 1-2feet off the ground. Bricks higher up are in good shape.
I've never seen spalling on an interior common wall before. The area is right beside the furnace and seems extremely dry. What else could be causing it, what should i be looking for?
I need help with clarifying on it. I have the Rooikat Mk.1D and its the first vehicle that i find when I shoot an enemy at their side hull it does little damage or when i shoot their side turret it may or may not deal any damage. It feels really off compared to the Centurion Mk.10 and Olifant.
Then I unlocked Rooikat MTTD and it feels back normal again, i can pick a weakspot and reliable damage or destroy the vehicle. I feel like the difference between 76mm and 105mm makes a difference or in general most of the tanks gun caliber in game does but I like a confirmation.
Hey,
My new driveway is flaking in some spots. We didnt use any de-icer or salt this year as recommended but near one of the cars we found these spots. Should i alert the guy who poured it and will my driveway be breaking soon? I had expected something like this in 10 years, not after 6 months.
There are two or three more small spots. What should i do? Silane/Siloxane waterproofer after powerwashing? Will that stop it in its tracks? If i do the sealer, how whould i apply it, knowing that i have a decorative border (2 feet wide) that has already been sealed?
yet it never makes the cut something they think people arent not ready to here.
Recently purchased an approx. 100yo home with a brick foundation that's suffering from spalling. I don't believe it's bad enough to be a structural concern yet, but I want to mitigate and repair it as soon as possible.
Was hoping to get some recommendations on products to seal the brink to prevent further spalling.
Thanks for any advice!
My 1953 home has poured concrete walls that are both above and below grade. The interior walls are excessively pitted and spalled. Gutters improvements have been made, regrading the exterior yard is intended to improve water contact issues.
I want to even the walls flat (all of them top to bottom) before I cover them with foam board insulation so that I get a good air seal on each board. And I assume the parging may be helpful in itself just as a sealing against radon entry.
Questions: My local Menards and Lowes dont sell a bag o cement that specifically says "Parging" on it so im not sure which kind of bag to buy to parge the walls? Will anything that says resurfacer work for me?
Before I go at the interior walls with gusto im assuming I should do a light run to fill the tiny pitting and spalling holes- do I just use the same material as I will use as the parging coat or something else?
Again this is old poured concrete basement walls, work is on the inside walls, in a cold climate if that matters for anything. Only the walls as my floating slab is in good health. Walls are mostly unpainted but one small area does have existing paint.
Hi guys
I'm on a budget and I was looking for some plates and I realized that I don't have the budget for ceramic plates.
Anyways would 5mm 500t Armox plates spall and if so how can I fix it?
Thanks.
Edit:I found some ceramic plates that I can afford.
Thanks to any one who helped.
I just bought some plates but didnβt buy the spalling protection to go with it cause broke college student, just wondering if thereβs anything I can spray on to them to add my own coating
I just finished pressure washing my garage floor and have lots of area to repair. For the large cracks, HD recommended Quikrete Crack Seal for the larger cracks and Quikrete Vinyl Patcher with a trowel for the spalling and pitting. I've read stuff about "self leveling concrete fixer" and caulking for the cracks, so I'm just wondering if y'all agree with HD's recommendations here or if there's a better way to approach this.
Hi, I was hoping someone with more experience in resurfacing products could give some advice or direction. I live in the Midwest, itβs outdoor. Would Ardex CD be an appropriate candidate if tear out and replace wasnβt an option financially? [here is a photo] (https://imgur.com/gallery/ogKQGIx)
