A list of puns related to "South Dublin"
Weβre a really lovely senior primary school in D24. Weβve a few SNAs out on covid leave, either sick or close contacts. Really struggling to cover so if youβre qualified & available could you get in touch please and Iβll pass you onto our principal.
Thanks π
Hey all, looking for a new gym this year in the area. Currently in a flyfit but the one I'm in I find is almost useless unless you go at very odd hours as its small and always packed. Willing to pay a good deal more than flyfit pricing (if worth it, I get the use out of it). General gym, don't need anything fancy, if anyone has any ideas or experiences of others ones would love to hear about, thanks!
Hey folks. Happy holidays! I'm a South Asian gay man and based in Asia. I'm starting a new job in tech, and planning to move to Dublin early next year. Apart from work, the primary agenda here is to live and date more openly / actively than I've been able to at home.
Bit of a long shot, but wanted to check if any of you would have any thoughts / experiences / advice to share on the following (eg. tips on what to do, what to avoid etc)
a) Finding accommodation (+potentially flatmates)
b) Dating (esp. as a person of colour)
c) Exploring the city / nightlife (gay clubs?)
d) Making friends and socializing (any groups / places to meet people etc.)
e) General openness / acceptance of LGBTQ people
Many thanks in advance!
I've lived here for a decade (in South Dublin - Blackrock, Ranelagh and now in Dundalk). I've also had a few friends from Europe who have lived here a while.
They wonder and myself why the South Dublin/D4 accent sounds totally different from all other Irish accents. A few people I work with from Donnybrook say they've been confused for being English when abroad.
Why does the accent stick out so much compared to all other Irish accents? I heard that it's because it's not accent that evolved naturally but one that people in the area put on a few decades ago to emulate the English middle class.
I think it was posted here. I am still suffering.
Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations of fully enclosed gated greens or parks to let the dogs run off lead. Not specifically a dog park, just a gated green. There used to be a great one near Sandyford but it's since been opened up.
Anyone know of any small-ish gyms in South Dublin? I find FlyeFit etc. a bit intimidating. Would be great if I could find a small, relatively quiet gym with showers etc. to visit before work.
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, Iβve always been interested in taken up some kind of MMA (BJJ/Boxing or something similar). However Iβm also kinda afraid of starting it. Iβd most likely be on my own so it seems pretty daunting. Iβd be doing it mostly for my own enjoyment and to just try and see if I like it and from what I heard itβs a great pastime for fitness etc. Iβve no idea where to start so just asking advice on how your first time going was and if youβve any suggestions on places that take beginners in this area of dublin? Thanks!
Anyone know where that infernal racket of DnB is in south Dublin? They've been testing it over the last few days, but now it's running all day in D16/D24. It's like standing on a sewer cover at the back of funderland. I couldn't see if it got louder or quieter as you get nearer/further from tallaght on the bike but it like they're blaring the speakers in protest on the Spawell roundabout - it's either a major sound system in a gaff or a circus has come early!
Either way, need to plan if this is going to be in the ether until Xmas.
Anyone swimming regulary at the moment who could comment on the busyness of their local pool? I'm looking to find a new pool in/around Dun Laoghaire / Sandyford( don't mind driving if needed) but would like to avoid anywhere that's too crammed to swim lanes comfortably.
Am I out of luck?
Hi folks. I live in Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown (more accurately Stepaside).
I am looking for a nice cafe that has a cozy atmosphere to it, in either Dublin City or South Dublin.
I'm gonna meet with a Spanish couple and wanna make them feel welcome in their move here, particularly with the Winter approaching.
Thank you.
I hear itβs class and want to try it.
There's been a helicopter circling over Dublin 2/4 for an hour or two now. It looks like they're making big circles with the Green or maybe the Iveagh Gardens at the center.
What's going on? Car chase?
Was there a jailbreak, somewhere in the town?
