A list of puns related to "Slim Dusty"
Iβve searched far and wide and canβt locate a tab for this.
Also looked to buy a slim dusty tab book but none of them have this song in it. I play quite a lot of blues but canβt quite work this out. Any help much appreciated.

Hi!
I have been trying to find the lyrics of We've Been Truckin' Too by Slim Dusty(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paLLyYse1AM) for quite a while now, but I could not find them online, and resorted to what I can understand from hearing.
It contains a few locations in Australia (the ones i could hear in the song do make sense, as in they are known for wool, or floods, or being cold) and some trucker slang, and I'm no Aussie but I think I have most of it - but some parts are still a complete mystery.
So i would love your help with what i have left, hope this is the right sub.
Attached are the lyrics i do have, where (??) denotes a phrase or parts i am unsure of.
>See the spray fly from the bogeys
And the tarp rope sweatin' tight,
See the loads of wool from Longreach
Rolling through the rain tonight,
Hey dim those lights and move aside
And let em have the road
Don't make em hit those edges
With their high and heavy load
Pull over there just through the grid(??)
And give those men a go
....(??)....
and Riley's rigging this one from Bendigo
And lets roll a smoke and rest a while
And wave those trailers through
Don't make em leave the bitumen
For we've been truckin' too
We've had steptanks in the buckbush
And our sidelamps in the mud
When the dogwood creek's a banker
And the condamine's in flood
We've been cold in snow at Guyra
.....(??).....
And we've sweated on the ....(??)....
Yeah(??) we've been truckin' too
We've been blinded by mud(??) drivers
With their out of focus lights
We've been in the water tables
When we've dosed on rainy nights
We know what slippery shoulder on the ....(??)... can do
When you're loaded high with wool
Cuz we've been truckin' too
We've had breakdowns in the outback
With those bushfires everywhere
And those big scotch grey mosquitoes
That would cause a saint to swear
We had to dodge those scaleys
We've used some lonely roads
To avoid those men in dustcoats
Who watch out for overloads
We've hauled load for southern smarteys
And we waited ninety days
While they sobbed out their excuses
In a hundred different ways
Yeah we know what trucking's all about
So wave those fellas through
And wish good luck on every truck
Cuz we've been truckin' too
So I'm watching a documentary on the Indian Pacific, and it made me think of the ripper Slim Dusty Song of the same name.
But on the flipside, my favorite song is probably "Lights on the Hill", and my favorite Album has to be "Sittin' on 80"
But you can't forget his cracking rendition of "Waltzing Matilda" at the Olympics.
But what are other people's gems from Slim's life?
I've spent several days trying to find an image of the Australian singer Slim Dusty without their hat on, and I was recently able to find what I was looking for.
My challenge to you is to find the same. All of their head needs to be visible, and they cannot have their hat on. Bonus points if you find it the same way I did :)
Personally i love his songs. Waltzing Matilda and Light on the hills are my favourite. But i wonder if he's well-known in his homeland or not. Can you please give me an answer ?
If anyone's interested, can someone do Waltzing Matilda? If you do use the tune from 0:26 to 0:30 as a possible tune.
Here's the Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqtttbbYfSM
I dont actually know anything else, besides the line (and youll have to imagine Slim himself doing it) "something something Kenworth 350" im certain he said Kenworth, numbers might be different though.
Heard it about 4 yrs ago, and started going through his libary of songs, and unless i somehow missed it, or another singer sounding just like him with their own song, i could never find it, can anyone lend a hand?
Thanks in advance.
