I've been listening to a lot of Ska punk recently like rancid, the interrupters, the mighty mighty bosstones , Ska p etc. What else could I listen to?
Hi guys! When I was a teenager, 2002-2004, a friend of mine has a burned CD ska/punk covers compilation. It was called "SKA SUCKS", as its first song, but I'm 70% sure all songs were donwloaded from Napster or similar and certantly the CD wasn't the 1998 release called Ska sucks (Liberation Records). Also, the compilation also had a lot of NOFX songs. So...
It had a lot of songs, some of them I rememberd. I hope they can serve as context.

It's funny that in many Youtube uploads says "Inspector gadget ska-punk cover", without credits, like in the lost CD.
So, about THE SONG I been looking for so long:
- It's in this universe of "ska/punk covers", probably 90s.
- It has a female singer.
- It's a cover of a 50s, maybe 60s or 70s song.
- Maybe romantic.
I have been looking for the song for years. I listened to thousands of songs without finding it. I hope someone can help me.

I FOUND IT! I can't believe it. The Goops - Build Me Up Buttercup (original: The Foundation, 1968). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GMrvj8sfl8 It appeard in the movie The Mallrats (1995, I didn't see it). I have to say it was more a punk cover than a ska cover. You were a lot of help. In Youtube comments a lot of people say that they heard the song in burned CDS and it was mislabeled a lot of times.
I've been meaning to ask for recommendations for a year now after listening to Talco (an italian Ska Punk band) but kinda forgot to do that, anyways, your chance to recommend some bands
Caught an earworm and now I can't find the song to listen to... it's something about a girlfriend who's radioactive or 10 tonnes or something about how heavy...maybe? The lyrics I can remember are or go something like:
"that girl, I know she loves me best never want to get that weight off my chest take her home, I think you know the rest that girl."
Spent time going through old compilations and internet searches and I think it's from an old ska, punk, or pop punk compilation from the 90s but can't figure it out.
Tried another reddit group, to no avail.
