A list of puns related to "Quill Feather"
Hi, I've recently purchased a few writing quills for medieval calligraphy, as well as walnut ink. However, when writing, the ink makes a big lump at first, and the remaining ink dries out after a few letters. I suspected the ink was too liquid, so I tried a thicker walnut ink, but the results are similar. I also cleaned the inside of the quill with soap to get the ink to stick, to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help or advice

IIRC:
Harry is meant to have travelled from roughly canon. He's 11 again and grew up (or at least, his body did, or whatever) as part of the Black family. After being sorted into slytherin, his family gifts him an augurey feather quill, which in this fic is a top quality and super expensive & rare type of quill. Harry jokes that it's probably because they were terrified that he'd end up in gryffindor.
Harry makes a bet with Draco about whether or not Hermione will end up with the top grades of their year, or something like that. If she does, Draco will stop using the word mudblood for the rest of his time at Hogwarts. If she doesn't, Harry will give him the quill.

For one of my projects one of the creatures from myth I am using is the stymphalian bird, while this world is a fairly magical and most of the creatures I created not evolved, I still want to have a bit speculative evolution in there, I'm not worried about the whole launching the feathers thing I can just chalk that up to Magic, same thing with the metal feathers,( I use magic to explain some of the things in Myth showing up that would be detrimental to an animal evolving also to say f*** you to the square-cube law a couple times I don't use it often) but I'm mainly wondering is it known for its very sharp feathers being very similar to blades, I already know that mammals have evolved their hair into quills and I'm pretty sure something similar to be done with birds although if I'm wrong let me know, but could their feathers turn into something more like a blade, or would I have to make that magically created as well, and given birds have multiple types of feathers I'm guessing they could have both the blade feathers and the quills. Anyway any help with this would be greatly appreciated I just wanted to be that little bit more accurate.
(I can't access my alt on a computer, so I'll be using my main. I forget to switch my account anyways tho... oh well)
>There was a package on top of Petrocia's bed today. The stone wedge covered in leaves and wool that they slept on had a small package, not very heavy and with a small letter on top.
>
>'Hey! You haven't taught a class in a while, why not show us how you make those awesome things?'
>
>It had no sender, but was addressed to Petrocia. Huh.
>
>When they opened the box, they found... several goose, turkey, and other beautiful feathers. Only primary flight feathers, they noted, were in the box. The feathers were clean, none too weathered or fragile. Underneath the geese, the turkey, and the eagle and hawk feathers, however, was a single flamingo feather. Did the sender want Petrocia to teach the students how to make feather quills?
>
>Petrocia would have shrugged if there was anyone with them. Guess I'll do a class about feather quills, then. It has been a while since I taught a class, and no student really has been either.
Later
Petrocia was writing in perfect cursive on the chalkboard how to make a feather pen. There were sketches describing the anatomy of a feather, and examples laid out on a side table. Students were starting to pour into the classroom, apparently quite excited about feather pens. Huh. Petrocia didn't think that feather pens were so exciting. They shrugged, and clapped to get everyone's attention. Most students knew DSL by now, so they didn't need a translator this time.
'Instructions are on the board. Ask if you have any questions. There are knives and feathers on the table over there, and example pens on the other one. I trust that all of you have done Sandstone's knife safety course, so there shouldn't be a problem, but I brought my first aid kit just in case. Paper and ink are also on the table if you finished and want to use your pen.'
The room was simple- rugs and desks randomly scattered across the floor, with simple wooden tables on each side of the class. A blackboard was hanging at the front of the room, and there was a window on the side with the craft materials. It was sunny outside, and light streamed in from outside. Compass joined in halfway through the classroom, and the class was quietly chatting with each other as they carved feather pens. Petrocia sat in a corner in between the example table and the blackboard, carving the light pink flamingo feath
... keep reading on reddit β‘Feather Quill manifests as a set of small wings on the user's wrists, too small for actual flight. The feathers are white except for the stem, because they contain black ink. Any drawings produced using these feathers will come to life, and grow 12 times the original size.
If the feathers come into contact with the blood of another Quirk user, the feather will go from white to a distinct pattern, and depending on where the ink is used, the resulting drawing can use the quirk.
Weaknesses: Once brought to life, the drawings will only last for about three minutes, slowly turning black until dissolving to nothing. Since the material is still technically ink, water is a huge weakness.
The story presents it as a very ritzy gift. I believe it was implied that he probably got it because his family was pleased that he was in slytherin and they had been worried that he'd be gryffindor.
I think time/dimension shenanigans were involved. Pretty sure Harry makes a bet with Draco, where Harry will give Draco the quill if he loses. I think the bet was about Hermione being top of the class in their year.
