Like, I'm not 2.

As the title says, I have lots of legumes (black eyed peas, different kinds of lentils, cannelini beans, a bean mix) and grains (farro, rice, quinoa). Some were bought prepackaged, others were bought from a bulk section. Unfortunately, it's been several months since I've used them. I recently reorganized my pantry and discovered that the plastic bags are all puffed up for just about all of the grains and beans in my pantry.

What does this mean?

Is this normal?

Are they safe to eat?

I'd hate to throw them out - it's enough to feed me for a long time.

Hey all, I'm looking for possible ideas for a cereal I can order, and maybe some moral support.

I ordered a cereal from nuts.com and was really excited about it. It took a while to find one that was ONLY made of rice, and was certified gluten free. I ate it yesterday and was fine. This morning, my mouth and gums are burning, swelling and a little numb, and I'm feeling achey and exhausted

It had been over 3 years since I had a bowl of cereal and it was so great.

Anyone know a crunchy cereal that's JUST (GF certified) rice, that also has no nut contamination?

I'm just GUESSING the reaction is nuts, but what's weird is I can eat Wonderful brand salted pistachios and I assume those are processed around other nuts so I'm confused.

It's getting so depressing. If you're interested, my diet for the last couple years has consisted of:

Broccoli, carrots, kale, sweet potato (all only if cooked well) Chicken, pork, beef (specific brands, which limits my ability to travel anywhere) Strawberries (pasteurized and flash frozen, fresh causes ibs and oral reaction) Rice, tapioca starch, GF oats Salt, pepper, turmeric, basil, cinnamon, ginger, chia seed, pistachios, Goat milk, Olive oil, sunflower oil, palm oil (not hydrogenated), Specific brand of GF coffee, Reb. A stevia powder

All certified gluten free except the veggies, most have to be specific brands. Not all are allergies --many are intolerances, some are mysterious and cause like, head swelling and nightmare-level migraine, sugary fruits cause oral allergy and seizures (might be sugar, at this point don't care why, just avoid)

I have my first therapy appointment in about a year today, and I don't want to cancel because of an allergic reaction.

I'm working on getting an allergist. I moved last year.

Im afraid to take Benadryl because it contains PEG and I haven't tried that yet and don't have an epi pen. Same reason I haven't been vaccinated for COVID-19 yet.

Anyway, any ideas for cereal I can have with goat milk, or just some support and solidarity would be great. These restrictions are debilitating and my life revolves around them. Thanks guys.

Rice Krispies (and generic "crisped rice" cereals) are deceptive in that they appear to be whole grains of rice that are crisped, but are actually rice flour that is formed into the shape of rice.

Why is this issue particular to Rice Krispies? Because other cereals generally do not mimic the shape of the grain. Corn Puffs, for example, aren't deceptive in the same way because they are not shaped to appear like whole corn kernels.

Nobody thinks that Rice Chex are whole rice grains, but a significant portion of people reading this will not have known that Rice Krispies are rice flour that is shaped into a rice shape.

Three more points I want to make:

1. It is not obvious that they are reconstituted. I'm not sure if you can even find that info on the box.
2. If this is just a desirable shape for breakfast cereals, then why do we not see Corn Krispies and Wheat Krispies? A main reason they are in this shape is because they appear to look like rice, which causes most people to think they are grains of rice.
3. Why does this matter? Because it's good to not be deceived, and because there is a difference between eating rice and eating rice flour, even if the composition of both is the same.

The cattle in the fields, most of which were direct bloodline to the cattle taken by the legendary P'Thok in the Great Moo-Moo Raid almost nine thousand years ago, were lavishly pampered to a degree that bordered on outrageous. Petted, brushed, combed, hand fed, they were pampered out of the belief that an uncomfortable moo-moo would produce sour milk.

The Cattle Queen watching over the moo-moo's as they were being brushed and pampered was ostentatious in her lavish outfit. Her dress was styled off of ancient Terran West Cattler style, with plenty of frills and lace, with a bustle that completely covered her abdomen and hid her legs beneath it's impressive size. Napping on the soft cloth of the bustle, basking in the sun, were a half dozen hatchlings smaller than a human's hand.

Her bonnet was ornate, hand embroidered, shading her eyes and antenna from the warming rays of the large red sun.

She even had a hand tooled leather pistol belt around her thorax/abdomen junction, complete with bullets and an ivory gripped pistol in the proper places.

T'Nok knew it was all to show off her power and wealth, not only to any passerby's but to the moo-moo's themselves, to let them feel calm and protected by her wealth and power.

Regardless, Valyxh was glad Ace and Nakaisha were getting along. She had been worried that Nakaisha was too pushy. Nakaisha’s strategy seemed to be working, maybe that's how Humans liked their women. Valyxh had heard the rumors about Human males. But if Ace had been Valyxh’s brother, Valyxh and Nakaisha would have had words. But Ace wasn’t her brother, he wasn’t even a Shil’vati, and a good relationship between Ace and Nakaisha would make everything easier when Ace moved into their shared apartment.

Granny Esmer did not blink at the noise, and neither did Blake. Hellspawn made far more disturbing noises when they died. The pair sat, waiting for Lynch to be finished interrogating the one-time demonic thug. Blake suspected the interrogation was long over, and what was left was a little payback.

The pipe Granny and Blake were puffing at trailed smoke as he passed it back to the woman. Blake rolled a paper if he wished a smoke, but Granny had offered her pipe. Gorgeous carvings around the bowl, long stemmed, and of a red polished wood cool to the touch, Blake could not say no.

“This is prime Kindale tabac,” Granny said after rolling the smoke around in her mouth for the third time. Blake nodded.

Hey all, I would like some input on the mix I plan on making for my young boy rats.

All percentages given are by volume.

60% of the mix will be mixture of the following in equal parts:

7 grain hot cereal mix containing only Red & white hard wheat, oats, white softwheat, rye, triticale, barley. These grains have been chopped up roughly, but appear to be minimally processed.

Organic Einkorn Wheat

Barley Flakes

Organic Spelt

A rice mix containing Long Grain Parboiled Brown Rice, Sprouted Brown Rice, Brown Basmati Rice, Colusari Red Rice, Sprouted Sienna Red Rice, and Wild Rice.

Oxbow rat food

20% of the mixture will be a mixture of the following ingredients in equal parts:

Organic Quinoa Puffs

Puffed Brown Rice

Tricolor Orzo pasta with Tomato and Spinach

10% of the mixture will be the following:

Fish dog food. Unsure of which brand yet.

All of these ingredients only come out to around $100 and most come in 1lb quantities so it is worth it for me. Is there any issues with this as a food mix?

Can't take the wait anymore so, now that vol. 15 of the LNs and thus arc 4 has concluded, I'm making the leap from light novels to web novels. I'll still probably read the LNs as the come out in english and that's partially way I've chosen this chapter selection. Witch Cult translations has 81 chapters listed under arc 5 and the wiki says arc 5 is across 5 light novels, so that comes out to about 16 chapters per "volume" for a matching web novel read. It'll be easier to pace myself and later compare what happens in the LNs to the WNs, unless someone has a better recommendation for how I should split things up.

I think I've actually seen images of Joshua before, probably from LN vol. 16, but I thought it was just Julius being forced into a fancy getup.
