A list of puns related to "Potter's Field"
Where do the indigent and unclaimed get buried in this area or do they employ a different method of disposition?
Name: Aldric Grimhollow
Race: Reborn
Class: Eldritch Knight
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Facial Features: a strong, square jaw. His skin is a dark brown, taut against his skin after a couple decades as a reborn. Close cropped gray hair caps his skull. His remaining eye has a dark gray iris, which is bracketed by a bushy caterpillar eyebrow. He has thick lips.
Distinguishing features: Aldricβs left eye is completely gone, with his empty socket leaking black mist. The area around the socket is entirely skeletal.
Body type: Aldric is a big, tall, brick of a man. Broad shoulders, thick arms and legs, the works. The kind of guy that looks like he could deadlift a car.
Gear: Aldricβs armor is thick gray-black iron, with no helm. On the chestpiece is the symbol of his god: crisscrossed skeletal arms, one holding a lantern, the other holding a shepherdβs crook. His attuned weapon is a mace, carved of a dark wood. He specializes in utilizing ice magic, so his leather gauntlets are usually covered in hoarfrost, as is the shaft of the mace.
Clothes: Aldric wears a ragged black wizardβs cloak over his armor. It encompases him like Batmanβs cape. Thick black boots come up to about his shins.
Bought with the blood money originally paid to Judas for betrayal of Jesus, the high priests could not put it back into the treasury so they bought a potter's field full of "broken pots."
The image of a potter making pots is a common image in Christian theology. With God as the potter and humans as the clay on the wheel. Beginning with Adam made from clay and onto several verses within scripture.
Well outside the gates of Jerusalem is a field filled with broken pots, yes that field. Brennan Manning in his ministry wrote about "A Ragamuffin Gospel" which consisted of people broken in life who recognizing themselves, who knew they too were bought with the blood of Jesus. Maybe not as successful or rich or even mainstream who truly understand sin far better than the typical Christian. See themselves receiving the grace of our Lord completely knowing they don't deserve it. They are in that potter's field bought with the blood of Jesus too.
Sadly your typical Christian has so little understanding of sin. Yeah they will say they're sinners, but in the back of their minds they deny it. They really see themselves as God's children successful, powerful, and shining examples for the world to emulate, full of pride.
Jesus did not come for the healthy, bright, successful and prideful, He came to help sinners, for the sick and the prisoners of sin. For people who truly understand that they cant help themselves.
I work for a government agency that manages a small historic cemetery dating back to the (U.S.) Revolutionary War and has been closed to burials for at least 40 years. We are running out of space in our active cemetery and the idea of reopening the historic cemetery was pitched. I am not directly involved in cemetery management but I am personally interested in cemeteries and based on what I know, I would not be surprised if the "unused" section is actually a Potter's field. Due to the age of this cemetery and the fact that this is a historically rural farming town, it is also possible that African American slaves may have been buried here in unmarked graves as well.
My question to you is what type of survey would we need to check the area for graves/casket/remains? The history of this cemetery is largely unknown and it has been neglected for some time. I just have a gut feeling that if they just start digging, they are going to uncover something!
When the snow thaws and spring is near the people of Akron, Ohio come out to play within the confines of the mostly undeveloped Schneider Park. It's a haven for soccer practice, dog walkers, and kite flyers. But is there a darker secret from Akron's past hidden beneath the 15-acre green field? Some say, yes.
The area located off Mull Ave on Akron's west once was swampland and belonged to an sanitarium , or the Summit County Infirmity. The infirmary was dedicated in 1849 and operated until 1918 when it was relocated to Monroe Falls, Ohio. They called places like it "the poor house" in those days. There were reports that many of the individuals who resided there were mistreated and tortured. Apparently, there was a caged area in back where the worst cases were kept naked and suffering.
Many Akron residents had no money for burial and were sent to "the poorhouse" by doctors and the coroner. A small section of the infirmary's land was designated for their final resting place. Upon moving the institution to Monroe Falls the headstones were removed from the area, but it was rumored that many of the bodies remained.
Some say there is a "burial path" in the park that people are drawn to for inexplicable reasons. When you run a Google Earth search of the park there are little rectangular squares lined up in rows in the west section of the park. Residents have reported that rectangular indentations in the earth become visible on a rainy, or damp day.
In 1935 Mr. Schneider who had earlier developed the land, deeded 15 acres to the City of Akron since it was too swampy or build homes on. The park itself was dedicated in 1941. Some activities have been hotly contested over the years. When the park opened Mr. Schneider requested that no on play baseball on top of it. In the mid-80's there was some debate around whether, or not some local soccer clubs could practice in the park--the players won.
In 2017 The University of Akron Archaeology Department got involved and conducted a survey of the area. They were not authorized to dig and resorted to the use of technology to determine the origins beneath the park. Unfortunately they could not solve the mystery either. They believe there are 156 distinctive graves and for each one there are probably 2 below it. Up to 200 poor souls could still be buried in the park.
Does anyone else have local stories like this and how were they resolved? Should local officials allow the archaeology department to dig?

I was an intern for a "missionary discipleship training school" called IGNITE from July 2017 to April 2018. I served in Guatemala primarily and while I was never faced with the extremes of mike Rozell's manipulation and abuse, the environment he created was toxic. Basically, we were gaslit and manipulated, isolated from our families, and we put Mike on a pedestal. Personally, I believe Mike exhibits signs of textbook narcism and we met practically every standard for being in a cult.

This was posted in July 2019 and was the first time I opened my eyes to what I had experienced. https://phoenixpreacher.com/potters-field-survivor-stories/ These are other people's stories about potter's field.
Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability. - THIS ! Mike had a pastor, but McClure didn't visit often and when I saw them together, Rozell never once had one of his rages around McClure.
β’ No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry. - Any time someone questioned Mike he flew into a rage and claimed they were trying to take down his ministry.
β’ No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget or expenses, such as an independently audited financial statement. -there have been audits done after the shutdown, but I can't seem to find clear facts about it. Mike and Pam lived in a very cushy house in Montana and mike had a rolex watch and a nice car. These are all fine to have, but when compared with the fact that 2.0's worked 60 hour weeks and were compensated for 20 at a time and when interns first arrive you work crazy hours on a 300$ stiped a month while being expected to put some of it toward tithe.
β’ Unreasonable fear about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions. - There was always this mindset of people are trying to tear down the ministry. You'll see in my testimony below a case where Rozell painted an entire interaction as people being out to get us.
β’ There is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil. - We were pretty much forbidden to reach out to former RA's who had left during my field time. There was always this implication (i
