A list of puns related to "Pipe Fitter"
I have an interest in getting into welding as a career. Doing a lot of research yet I canβt seem to find a straight explanation between the differences of these three. Like the pay and the work.
I have a friend that works for a company welding fuel tanks and fire extinguisher bottles, sheβs a great welder. She works non-union up in Wisconsin, and I was talking to her about coming to work with me in the mines and be my maintenance help basically, and base pay where I am is $36.75. Then I got to thinking, hey why wouldnβt she just try to get into one of these other unionsβ¦ she wants to live closer to the city and then she wouldnβt have to deal with mining elementsβ¦.. which are not great. Anyone have any insight?
Hey guys Iβm an 18 year old fabricator I just graduated high-school as I mentioned Iβm a fabricator. I have been for about 2 years now since my jr year for an apprenticeship but it not really sure how I feel about it I love welding and Iβm pretty good at welding pipe so I was thinking about giving this a shot, what are your guyβs opinions? Considering all of you have a lot more knowledge and experience than I do.
Hello! I was curious and have a few question about these two trades.
I had taken an plumber/ pipe fitters Union apprenticeship test earlier this year since I was just applying to anything that may have helped me make money and learn some skills instead of just wasting my time working fastfood.
I took the test and thought it didnβt go too well so I gave up since I didnβt never hear anything back from the Union so I continued to looked for things that may help me in life and that bought me to the army I figured it was a good way to get an free education bachelors degree and get some money in my pocket while doing it .
I took my asvab earlier this week and received a afqt score of 64 meaning out of 100 people only 34 tested better than me , my recruiter told me this was a good score but didnβt really tell me if it was very good or just average he also didnβt tell me what jobs this would qualify me for so I left to go home and am still waiting for him to contact me about it but when I checked my phone that evening I had seen the acceptance letter from the apprentice ship.
This shocked me since I thought I had no chance and now I canβt really decided between them , in the army I can get free schooling And paid while also being deployed around the world so getting to see other parts outside the u.s.
But in the apprenticeship I get to learn a trade skill for 5 years with pay starting from 35 year 1 to 70k year5 but the downside to that is I wonβt get to travel will have to pay for college myself .
Which choice would be the best one to better myself with ?
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has a copy of a written pipe fitter helper test? I haven't worked as a pipe helper since 2014 and I've recently got a hands on Helper test which is basically point at the correct tool that the tester calls out. I thought I would have remembered but I was totally lost and failed the test. Most of them were because they have multiple names I only knew them by one name, if that makes any sense. (Ex. End grinder=pencil grinder)
I'm waiting on my blue book to get to me but in the meantime if anyone has a complete list of fitter helper tools so I could study and get back up to date with it. Also the helper test I got from 2014 I passed it to be a level 2 helper and the test was a drawing of the tools and then just fill in the blanks(Tellepsen). If there's something like that out there that would be great so I could work on my memorization of them.
They way they pronounce unionized.

My son in law was at home and had a table saw accident that resulted in 3 fingers amputated, they were able to reattach his index finger. He will have months of physio therapy and o/t to learn to live without fingers. He is the main supporter of his household .
I have attached his go fund me here:

Any assistance is appreciated! Thanks Reddit friends !
Does anyone know what episode Roger talked about unions in and made a joke about how pipe fitters shouldnβt have a union because they can just go to Home Depot and fit the pipes?
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
The company I work for is currently looking to hire a commercial HVAC installation tech, a pipe welder and a pipe fitter. If you or anyone you know is looking for that kind of work feel free to message me for the job posting link.
Hey everybody I am starting school for pipefitting the exact name is Steam sprinkler and pipefitting i am really excited to start because I hear so many great things about the trade but I want to know deeper like How much money could I really make , could I clear 100k a year eventually ? When I go on indeed they donβt have many jobs so Iβm wondering before I even start this is it worth it ? Iβm 22 and I want to start my career NOW so by the time Iβm 30 Iβll be okay and a regular Job (Just Over Broke) will not satisfy the the things I want in life so I just really came to this post as like a last resort because YouTube and google donβt really tell me to much plus this trade only takes 6 months to finish Iβve spent 6 months at a job I hated so I know I could finish the schooling
Should I buy my crew a box of donuts on my first day or would that make me seem like Iβm too nice, trying to hard or too much of a kiss ass?
Talking to a guy at work and he mentioned he read that copper pipe fitters didnβt get sick during the Black Plague era because they have some type of bacteria resistance from being covered in copper. Is this true at all? It seems like it could be but also a stretch. Also if my hands are covered in copper from touching it all day is that like putting hand sanitizer on?
https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC552WF Iβve been working on this all afternoon and canβt seem to solve the mystery. Your suppose to help the pipe fitter sort out his supplies and find the cache. The puzzle is this:
