A list of puns related to "Paddler"
Can anyone provide insight on how these two books compare if I'm trying to plan a portage trip with a beginner to intermediate level group? I am wondering whether a guidebook is worth getting to plan the trip (over what I can find on the internet) and which book is better. I will be purchasing the maps. Thanks in advance!
I checked olympics results:
Single: 3:37 minutes.
Double 3:08 minutes.
Does that mean that if we take out a person from double kayak, the remaining person would kayak +-twice slower?
So it would be:
Single: 3:37
Double kayak with only 1 person: 6:16
?
I am asking since I see single people taking trips in double kayaks and I wonder if they make it twice longer trip by not having a single kayak.
Hi All, I am a mobile app developer who live in ny, and I started to kayak this year and really love it. I mostly paddle with my inflatable chelan 155 in north shore Long Island. I have this idea to build an app for kayaking community, but not sure if it will find product market fit, that's why I want to get some feedback from here. The app will have 3 core features: where to paddle (similar to go paddling, but better user experience), kayaking related weather info/forecast (wind, wave and tide info), and most important feature is creating a float plan with real time location tracking, in case emergency happen. the app will notify your loved one if you didn't update your trip in time. Also you can share some photo along the trip to others, it will show the image on the map. The app will be freemium model, most features are free, but only upgraded users can use the live track feature. I have designed the app, but haven't developed it yet, I wasn't sure if this app is gonna be "the app" of paddling community. Let me know if it's worth to spend next 6 month to 1 yr to work on this idea. Thank you and have fun on the water!
Hi!
I'm looking to purchase an ISUP for myself and my girlfriend and am struggling to find good alternatives within our budget to the iRocker 10'6" Cruiser (for her) and All Around 11' (for me). IRocker is running a pre-Black Friday sale right now and the boards are priced at $699 CAD and $719 CAD respectively.
I have Red and Atoll on my radar but with iRocker's current sale, I'd be looking at another $700-$800 CAD for two which is beyond my budget.
The reason for my question is that I'm nervous about purchasing from iRocker given the negative attention they're getting on this sub and elsewhere. That said, outside of the risk of clear manufacturing defects (which are certainly concerning) the hate iRocker is getting appears to boil down to the following:
I can't seem to decide if the above is a significant enough of a concern to shy away from iRocker and if the board is an otherwise good product that will satisfy our needs, I don't think I can justify spending the extra $$$ on boards that I oftentimes see compared to iRocker. Additionally, many other brands I hear mentioned on this sub don't even ship to Canada which further limits the alternatives I can consider.
If it helps, I've summarized our profile and needs below:
Does anyone have any thoughts here? Am I overthinking the negative attention iRocker is getting? Are there any clear alternatives to their products I should consider than can be shipped to Canada?
Thank you and happy paddling!
Over the last two years Iβve noticed a huge interest in new or inexperienced paddlers looking to paddle Opeongo. Why?
What is the attraction to crossing the largest lake in APP with minimal to no experience, when there are so many other options available?
No judgement to those whoβve asked for advice here, I am genuinely very curious.
Being from Hawaii and this show being pretty anxiety inducing, it was nice to see some Aloha Spirit if even for a second, and with true homegrown pidgin
Wrong season I know, but as I ordered this at the beginning of last year and only just got it, you can prep for next season.

Everything you need to know is in the link, this is still in the box unopened. I basically ordered 2, but no longer need the 2nd one. Storable in a nyc apt! $440 is current discount order price and you won't have to pay the $65 shipping charge (pick up on the UES). Color is Turquoise. This also comes with the extra accessories (paddle/seat/strap/waterproof bag).
Iβm investigating the possibility of canoeing and possibly camping the rock river in Wisconsin. Iβm not from the area, and was wondering if anyone here might have some in-site as to a good start and stop point. Thanks in advance!
I canβt count how many times Iβve had to lug my boat up a steep hill or mudbank and lost my ass trying to take out. Scratches, injuries, loading in the dark when you miss your βtakeoutβ you were told existed that wasnβt visible from the river and actually just a small clearing on the bank covered by brush.
The plus side of this is that if you pick a stretch not operated by a livery you have less people to deal with but itβs still irritating how big of a hassle simply getting on the water can be.
Meanwhile most lakes have concrete ramps and freshly paved parking lots. What are we, chopped liver?
