I can understand the goal of providing opportunities for women in the chess world to promote the game among women and girls worldwide but it seems that the strongest women will always select to play in the Women's section because, for completely fair reasons, there is a much better chance to win prize money and maybe this will ultimately backfire as it is stopping women from advancing into the strongest echelons of the sport.

Seriously WOTC, why make me pick between supporting my LGS, playing your game, or watching your esport?? I am one of the enfrachised players that wants to do all of these things and yet you make me choose one? All while saying you want people to "gather" at the lgs and play Arena and follow the competitive scene.
It's poor coordination like this that makes me question their sanity. No wonder pro magic has failed, this is just another example of how little they try and allow people the opportunity to watch.
And why pin my LGS against Arena? These things are both good for your game, but now I can't enjoy some of the best parts of both because wotc couldn't use a calendar.
Next weekend sees the $20,000 Winter Championship of Age of Empires 4, but the day before, this Friday 21st January is the Open Qualifiers where we'll be giving away the final 12 seeds!

TRAINING
This was my second year working with JP Price as a coach and we really made a lot of progress once again. Not sure what else to say other than he seems to know exactly what I need! I went to Mexico this summer and for some reason my training never felt right once I got back - was failing lifts I shouldn't have and motivation was at an all time low, but we still managed to pull it together and get some PRs this weekend.
MEET
This meet took place in Kansas City, and was hosted by Strong Barbell Club... like most of the meets I've done. I was pretty nervous going in but confident despite my hit or miss performance as of late. Also brought some PB sandwiches to eat between lifts because I get hungry and greasy fast food doesn't sit well with me while hitting big numbers. I did get some Hardee's after though which was good after my 2 months of trying to eat healthy and no alcohol (tonight is beer night FINALLY MMMM)
Weighed in at 57.6kg (126.7lb) I think. I forgot tbh
**SQUAT **
- Attempt 1 105kg (231lb) β Was the confidence building opener I needed. I wasn't feeling my most alert when I started but was pleased with how well it flew up. Three white lights!
- Attempt 2 112.5kg (248lb) β Three white lights!
- Attempt 3 117.5kg (259lb) β I knew when I unracked this and started the descent it would be a grind coming coming back up. Pleased to say I managed to keep everything going and ended with a 2.5kg meet PR. Three whites!
3/3 on squats
BENCH
Had been going fairly well. We spent a lot of time doing close grip these last couple of blocks and managed a single at 150lb, just 5lb under my bench max of 155lb. Also tripled 150lb wide grip earlier on in training.
- Attempt 1 65kg (143lb) β I am thrilled this is a weight I get to open up with new. It flew, three whites!
- Attempt 2 70kg (154lb) β Also flew, nothing else to say here - three white lights.
- Attempt 3 72.5kg (160lb) β This was... something lol. I immediately threw it backwards on the press command and managed to get one side of the bar stuck under the right j-cup. Somehow worked my way back around and locked it out. Please check out the face of the side judge on the floor. That reaction makes it all worth it! I think I could do more if I managed to keep the bar straight tbh. Still a 2.5kg ALL TIME PR. - 2/3 whites - good lift. Was too excited I got it

I still think they need to improve certain areas of the squad and struggled to pick up any good pieces. We have seen lebron,curry,kid play well into their 30s. If kawhi stays healthy they have a shot one championship potentially when he returns.
If anyone's wondering why there's so much Tiger/Charlie coverage, there's your answer.
More viewers than a Sunday at a major for a novelty hit and giggle.

Placement in this tournament will also determine a team's points toward the Winter Champs leaderboard, where the top teams at the end of the February 2022 will be invited to the Nerd Street VALORANT Winter Championship in March 2022.

I love this team. I also feel like they aren't quite title contenders as currently constructed. Let's say their window is open for the next few seasons. What realistic moves could they make to put them in the championship discussion?
On Saturday, August 14, at 5:00 pm local time, the Giants Live World Open & World Deadlift Championships will be held at the AO Arena in Manchester, England.
The Max Deadlift, featuring notable pullers such as Pavlo Nakonechnyy, Ivan Makarov and guest lifter NedΕΎmin AmbeΕ‘koviΔ, will be on display first as 10 athletes will attempt to break the 501 kg mark set last year by HafthΓ³r JΓΊlΓus BjΓΆrnsson.
Four more strongman events will then be held: Carry & Drag, Viking Press, Front Hold and Atlas Stones will test the nine competitors in order to find the World Open champion.
Oleksii Novikov and Evan Singleton were the top two finishers a few weeks ago in London, but multiple challengers are looking for their chance to shine.
