A list of puns related to "Hatchway"
I've only seen a fews posts about this, with some good, some bad. I swear I don't work for them, but I thought it was a neat experience. I applied for a job (didn't get through oh well) and they had me use the Hatchways platform to do a take home assessment as a filter for proceeding with the company. They gave me 12 hours to do what essentially felt like a small university project. Parse a bunch of CSV files of students/grades/classes/tests and use the data to create a JSON output of a report card for all the students. It took me 7 hours which if I was prepped would've been much less. I know a lot of people here are averse to take homes if it means spending a day to make something. Probably a lot of people here could've done it faster anyways, I only scored ~70th percentile.
I'm still looking for my first job out of uni and I have no internships/experience. So I really don't have any metric to guage my ability to write proper industry level code. However they personally reviewed the code that I wrote. Even though overall I did well they gave some pretty in depth pointers for me to learn on. And honestly to me that's invaluable.
I'm still practicing leetcode all day and I don't mind doing it. But writing efficiencies is really only one aspect of programming. When given tasks to write larger systems there isn't many avenues for people in my position to really learn if what you're writing is correct. But that is all, thought it was cool.
I'm applying to jobs and got to see Hatchway. The 4 week co op looks promising but I cant be too sure. Anyone got any reviews for this?
I found some reviews indicating 4 or 5 stars, but the review counts are kinda low. Anyone got any success in using Hatchway?
Somebody suggested applying to Hatchways for a job, but the story was very confusing. They hook you up with a job like a temp agency, or they train you like a school, but you only pay after you get a job?
It sounds very fishy, has anyone used them before?
I was looking into software dev jobs and Hatchways came up. Apparently they are based in Toronto but I've never really heard of them.
I came across this company called Hatchways. They seem to be a startup that connects you with Toronto startups for interviews. Has anyone tried to use them to get a coop?
Been an odd winter up here in MA. Only one year before this in my time living at this house (and only once in a similiar situation) ive had water come in through the hatchway in the basement. Basically everythings been frozen (snows all gone) but it absolutely pours out and water leaks into the basement through the hatchway. Its not much, maybe a few gallons tops but what is causing this/where should I look? This is the second time in 2 weeks its happened. Snow all melts away and then a rain storm and water.
Is it just because the ground is frozen and cant saturate it? The hatchway sits on a concrete slab as well. Just curious what could be causing this and how I could potentially prevent it. Thanks!
The ropes are slick with seawater and rain, your bare feet almost frozen to the ratlines on the mizzen. You desperately cling to the spars, shortening sail as best you can. The bo'sun shouts orders to all the sailors, but aloft on the mast, you are nearly deaf to his words. The storm rages on, careening midshipman and seasoned sailor alike into the scuppers. You imagine the sickened passengers below-decks and feel queasy yourself. You fasten the sail then quickly swing and slide back down to the quarterdeck. A flash of lightning strikes in the distance as the sea swells beneath the ship's keel. Rocking, pitching, and yawing, the waves threaten to capsize her. The captain had warned you before: "The sea is an unforgiving mistress, and she can turn cruel without warning..."
(best listened to with headphones for the full effect of sailing on a square-rigger in the midst of a violent storm)

So I started chiseling expecting to lay down some hydraulic cement, but then I found the cement around the walkway was really cracked up. I now have a decent sized hole and I'm wondering what kind of cent I should use for this area. If anyone could provide some assistance it'd be much appreciated!
