A list of puns related to "Nortel"
Lumped all these together into one post since that's how they are in the pictures I have handy.
I have the following items:
Ideally I'd like these to be local pickup, but I will ship them if you want to pay the shipping - it will be a bit more expensive since these are all kind of large and heavy items.

The USB stick does provide both ZWave and Zigbee radios. Has anyone used it with Raspberry Pi and HA?
I got a fully functional 48 port (24 PoE) switch with rack mount ears. Local pick up in Southern California (orange country) pic

I picked up a 5520 a couple months back and it's been working great but the fan noise is slowly driving me insane and I want to put in something quieter. I'm having a hard time finding the exact fan specs online so I'm not sure what to replace them with. My top two choices right now are the Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM and the Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX. I'm leaning towards the FLX because I think switch uses 3-pin power connectors instead of the PWM's 4-pin.
Assuming those two are decent choices, which should I go with? Alternately if there's a better option out there I'm all ears.
Hello, I am trying to add some Unifi APs to my production VLAN 1010. I was able to change the default VLAN of the port and get the correct IP for the VLAN, but I am not able to SSH or PING the device from the my Unifi controller. I have no other physical device on that vlan. I can ping gateway of the vlan just fine.
The port in question is port 10. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I can ping VMs within the 2 hosts I have.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Just got one from eBay and have a db9 female to USB cable. I thought it would be a simple connect via putty using the serial connection (and the appropriate settings), but nothing. Rebooted with the connection open... nothing. Checked Windows10 device manager settings for the connection, and everything looks good.
The switch goes through the normal boot process, then has a steady stream of blinking ports in unison (looks like some of the ports were disabled if I read the guide correctly). Not being able to get anything to display in putty is perturbing.
Am I missing something here? What can I do to further diagnose this? Is there another way to reset this switch?
Thank you in advance.
Solved: null modem cable (db9 F/F) connected to my USB-to-db9 M works. Thank you!

Intellectual Property (IP) is a crucial portion of a companyβs assets. Today, a great portion of the assets of fortune 500 companies consists of intangible assets including intellectual property.

A strong IP portfolio is instrumental for fundraising, leverage in business transactions, exit strategy (e.g. for startups), and business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), to name a few.
Intellectual property may consist of patents, trademarks, copyright, and trades secrets. Patents are in many cases the most important portion, especially in the high tech and biotech industries. Since there are a large number of transactions in these areas, it is important to assess and estimate the value of a patent portfolio.
Nortel patents sold for $4.5bn
Apple, Microsoft, Sony and BlackBerry maker Research in Motion are part of a winning consortium of six companies which have bought a valuable tranche of patents from the bankrupt Nortel Networks patent portfolio for $4.5bn (Β£2.8bn), in a hotly contested auction that saw Google and Intel lose out.
Early signs had suggested that Google might be the winning bidder for the patents, which will provide valuable armoury for expected disputes in the communications β and especially smartphone β field.

IP valuation, and in particular patent portfolio valuation, is playing an ever increasing role in todayβs business transactions. With patents becoming a great portion of the assets of any company, many professionals need to deal with patent portfolio valuation for a variety of purposes.
Even though traditionally valuation professionals have used a combination of cost-based and market-based valuation, more and more practitioners are using income-based valuation in combination with market data.Β The income-based model focuses on what potential monetization or potential impact on business a patent portfolio might have, and as such, it is much more dynamic and reliable.
For patent portfolios of potential future value,

I am helping my mother in law manage her trade account (after my father in law passed away). It's an RBC Direct Invest account, but nobody has traded or rebalanced it for at least 6 years. Before you ask, yes, It's still in the positive overall and throwing out nice dividends. However there are a whole bunch of dead stocks, Nortel for example. Does anybody know how to delete them or at least hide or suppress them? The help file was not helpful and I can't call RBC because it's not my account and my mother in law is 91, so she's not going to either. Any hint is appreciated! Thanks in advance
I went back to the office first time since the pandemic and found everything PoE powered dead since earlier in the month. The switch shows PoE as working normally, but no output on any of the ports. I notice that it has suffered multiple fan failures. I'm sourcing some new fans in case it hasn't suffered permanent PoE damage and is in some kind of protected state, but I would like to get things up and running again quickly.
I have 2 fresh backups (ascii and binary) of this switch.
I have another identical switch I hadn't used before, which I have now reset to factory defaults using the UI button on the front (both the 3 second then 5 press etc and 3 second then 3 press etc methods just in case.) I can't access its web UI or telnet to it at the default IP of 192.168.192.168.
The console cable port is damaged on the new switch, although I've bent it back into what I think will be a usable form. I only had access to 'screen' on my mac at the time, and set to 9600 I received multiple lines of gibberish with 2 rj-45 to serial console cable adapters via a usb adapter. With a straight-through cable I had 1 or 2 symbols. I will source a new straight-through cable just in case.
The old switch was running the latest available firmware. The new switch is unknown. Last thing I tried was setting the old switch as base and fitting a cascade cable I had sitting. At least remotely, the old switch is now no longer network accessible, although it is obviously working as I can connect to the network.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try next?
I have a Nortel 1120E running sip firmware and using it with freepbx. Does anyone know how obtain a new token for it and how to go about installing it on the phone?
Pulled from working rack at home since I upgraded.

Full working condition, updated to latest firmware. (minor scratches on top - otherwise clean cosmetic condition). Will come without AC power cords.
Asking (PayPal G&S): CAD 300 shipped for both switches total to anywhere in Canada. (Will prefer to sell as a lot to keep shipping costs optimal).
Is anyone familiar with Nortel Baystack switches? I have a 5500-48T running FW: 6.0.0. 18 SW:v6.3.4. 028. I am trying to set up a bonded interface and aggregate the those interfaces. The equivalent of ether-channel and port-channel in the cisco world. Nortel calls it MLT (multi-link technology). This is for the connection to my Synology NAS.
