A list of puns related to "Nanaimo"
My partner and I are moving to Nanaimo in a couple of years and I want to open a food business. Ideally, I'd like it to be vegan, but I'm not sure how good the market for vegan food is? I've lived in BC my whole life but only ever visited Nanaimo a couple of times, so I figured I'd get this subs thoughts.
Thanks for any input!
Edit:
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I've still got a long way to go before I open up the business, but I would call these posts pretty encouraging overall! I'll do further market research etc later on when I have to make the final decision about being fully vegan vs half vegan. I'll post an update when we (hopefully) open up!
If anyone else has more feedback, I'm still more than happy to read it.
Thanks!
I'm sitting here at the Mill Bay ferry terminal after a drive down from Campbell River and, while the conditions were less than ideal the whole way, between Lantzville and the airport it was what can only be described as "a complete fucking nightmare". Washboarded ice in both lanes almost the entire way, and driving faster than 50 was taking your life in your hands. The only time I've been unlucky enough to see worse conditions was during a snowstorm on the Coquihalla.
Please ask your public works dept to kindly get their shit together.
Just drove from Vic to Nanaimo. Hwy #1 is mostly ice covered between Duncan & Nanaimo. If you can, stay home.
Where's the best place to get nanaimo bars in Halifax? Thanks!
Im a guy looking for someone to go to AA with in Nanaimo, somebody that knows the ropes!
Hi everyone!
I'm looking to switch gyms from School for Strength/Island Optimal. Preferably something in the south end, but it doesnt have to be. Looking for it to be as cheap as possible while still being good quality.
What I need: Barbells, treadmills, squat racks, free weights, bench presses, TRX, resistance machines, fine with me filming myself, allow chalk
What I would like but dont need: Lifting platforms, punching bags, landmine
I also dont need tanning and all that, but it would be a bonus if an inexpensive gym had some extras. Ive looked most at Harbour City Fitness, Fit4Less, Prime Performance, and Lifestyle, so any words on those would be great, but I am just looking for general suggestions too.
I have also heard great things about Dollys Gym but am not interested for various reasons.
Also, I am a 26 year old woman so bonus points to any other women who can give me recommendations for places they felt safe.
Thank you!
Edit: now looking for a new gym to start at in at least 3 weeks I guess...
Where can you find the Lower Mainland's best Nanaimo bar?
My brother is coming to visit - it will be his first time in Canada. One of the top things on his list to do while here is eat a Nanaimo bar! I don't want to make a batch myself - where should I go?
Thank you!
Seriously, the roads here aren't perfect but they're a hell of a lot better than Nanaimo right now. I have a coworker who's been trapped at home in North Nanaimo for the last 3 days. I've never seen it this bad.
https://www.cheknews.ca/74-year-old-nanaimo-cancer-patient-scammed-out-of-life-savings-927663/ From the article-The scam started in late September when the retired electrician went on his computer to find a cryptocurrency trading site. He thought heβd found a reputable one, and provided his email, his phone number and to verify his identity, he shared a picture of his driverβs license. Then came a phone call, where he agreed to invest $250, and he gave out his IP address so the trader could set it all up. βIβd get a phone call and heβd say turn on your computer Iβm going to show you how good the markets are doing and then he took over my cursor because he had already planted a little thing in the computer,β said the 74-year-old Nanaimo man .According to Nanaimo RCMP, you should never do that.
Hey, I need to get home from Nanaimo. Has anyone done the drive? How are the highways around Victoria and Nanaimo?
Edit: I drove back at around 1pm. Took me 3 hours or so. I'd say from Nanaimo to Duncan was pretty bad. It was real slow going and lots of traffic. A few cars off the road. people were going a reasonable speed but even then I was very light on the breaks and left a lot of room with the car ahead to prevent slipping. At some points were were doing about 40-50km which was about as fast as I'd want to go in those conditions.
From Duncan to Victoria was fine. A couple of spots near Mt Finlayson were a little icy but nothing compared to Nanaimo, though slowing down is a good idea.
Thanks to all who responded and drive safe!
Thanks
Does anyone in this SR do Instacart orders here in Nanaimo? What is the order volume like? Is it worth it? I am considering getting into it as a side-hustle.
Me and my lady went out for a date, decided to give these escape rooms a chance. So. Fucking. Fun! Incredible detail and decaorations! So many sound effects, motors and gizmos make the whole experience so immersive!
Can't recommend it enough. We failed! So we'll be back to finish it off and to do all of their Escape Rooms eventually.
The more people the better for sure.
