Nietzsche said islam fits the European 19th century culture more than Christianity, he also said the moorish civilization in spain is just as good as Ancient Greece ,do you agree with him ?

In Moorish Spain, how common was the name Issa (or other variants of 'Jesus' in Arabic or other languages?)?
If the Muslim population in medieval Spain commonly named their sons after one of Islam's prophets (Issa ibn Mariam, Jesus, son of Mary), could this is explain why modern Spanish-speaking cultures commonly use the name JesΓΊs while it isn't common to find the equivalent names for Jesus in other Christian cultures.

The Reconquista fails and Moorish Spain drives the exploration for the new world!
How would this change the dynamics of Central and South America, where Portugal and Spain traditionally colonized? What about Portugal's trade with India around the Cape?

Hiking around Siurana, Tarragona, Catalonia. Fun story: This was the final area in Spain to be Christianized in the Middle Ages, and local legend has that the last moorish queen rode her horse off those cliffs instead of facing capture.

Historical Fiction Set in Moorish Spain
I have been reading, almost exclusively, historical fiction lately. I have read almost everyone from Bernard Cornwell, and several other artists. I love most things Medieval. I have developed a hankering for the fight for Spain between the Spanish and Moors. Anything would help. Thanks

Old Moorish habits of Spain history?
Okay I was read some old book on Spain's history...they were talked about customs of people's lifestyle in Spain. In particular I wonder on this passage of that book (Thomas Salmon book, 18th century): "And there is one odd custom still prevails, which was introduced by the Moors; and that is, the ladies sitting cross-legged on carpets, while the master of the family sits in a chair, and dines at a table..."
How come man will sit by table but women on floor, I was wondering? And was it done by the Muslims population or even Caucasian Spanish? Finally on ladies sat cross-legged on carpets, do they sit that way with shoes on, just socks, or only barefoot? Because I was thought the bare foot is taboo in the old spanish culture because it is seen as erotic. Thanks for info!

What was Portugal's role in the Moorish conquest of Spain and the Reconquista that followed?
I know very little on the subject of the Moorish Conquest and the Reconquista. I know a little about the roles that the various kingdoms of Spain played, but I realize I know nothing about what Portugal did during the many years of Moorish rule on the Iberian peninsula. Can anyone enlighten me?

Al-Andalus: The Loss of Spain by the Moors. Do the Berbers of North Africa and other Moorish cultures still believe Spain is theirs by right?
From 711 CE to 1492 the Moors ruled part or all of Spain. Did any subsequent Moorish figures ever seriously attempt to re-take their former territory? Do any modern movements exist with such goals? How is the loss of their empire perceived within these modern communities?

I've been living in the historic ancient quarter of the stunning city of Granada, Spain. Famous for its Alhambra palace, amazing tapas culture, moorish architecture, and malafolla. AMA
Been here for 6 years. It is also my first proper participation in Reddit. I will be back in a few hours to answer all your questions.
