Hi!
Im looking to make Lego style cubes that connect to one another (probably magnetically) on each side and glow different colors and patterns based on a app using Bluetooth.
I was thinking of having 6 SPI ports, one on each side to communicate between each box. It seems like this can be a bit excessive and I believe this also alludes to having a micro in every box. I was hoping to have a master box that would always be included. Are there any resources you know of that might be able to help with this issue? And how are modular designed normally done?
Hello there,
I just turned a 1000 hours now, and for the last few hundred Ive used the same type of design to create my bus mall. Its 3 assemblers on top of eachother with 3 spaces in between and all the necessary materials belted from outside of it. It stretches quite far when done..
Well I got tired of remaking the sort of same mall every time I restarted. I dont restart very often, but often enough to spend hours designing this thing.
Its modular in the sense that its a complete mall for most items you need to make your factory grow, a few items excluded, like belts, assemblers and inserters, as I have a separate BP that makes all of that. Its just separated in to 14 different "modules", so you dont have to build all of it at once, only when you reach the point where you need those machines.
I tried to make it as I was progressing from the beginning, so it should be relatively close to your progression, except the end where it got a little jumbled. It uses 7 belts of input, and they all start and end in the same place, so you can just put down the next part when you need it. It did for me atleast(For the most part)
It is in NO WAY optimised when it comes to ratios or consumption, if you chuck it all down right away, I dont know how long it would drain your resources before it stops, but for quite a while I imagine. For me atleast, I pretty much never run in to a situation where Im waiting for the items I need, but that depends on playstyle I guess. It holds quite alot of intermediaries, reason for that is one part Im not a fan of long inserters(I dont know why), and when you get bots you can just upgrade all chests to passive providers, for when you make a bot based mall in addition to this, for the items not included or if I forgot something.
2 of the blueprints is for the mods Fluid Must Flow and LTN with LTN Combinator Modernized, but you can simply delete them if you dont need.
I provided some simple descriptions on all the BPs for what amount they craft, some probably wont work as intended cause some circuitry is added early on, and I have bots from the start of the game, and I dont know if those are added when you place by hand.
Enough rambling now I think, here is the link: Rexa's Mall Bus Modular Design Thing
