In the 'Choose your friends wisely' talk, there were some very disturbing unsaid things wrapped in serious sounding counsel about choosing good friends.
1) "Moab was a country that Jehovah told us to not wage war against"
Subtext: Our genocidal war campaign didn't include Moab.
2) "Moab still worship Ba'al, the same god as the Canaanites. Does Jehovah want us to be their friend?"
Subtext: The Moabites are just as disgusting as the ethnicities we massacred, God clearly hates them too."
3) Phinehas was righteous, and the consequences on Israel were sad, but deserved
Subtext: A priest murdering an interracial couple is what God wants. If we don't do as God asks, he will send a disease to wipe out thousands. Obedience is not rewarded, but disobedience is punished with death.
4) The Moabite women were sent to tempt the Israelites.
Subtext: Men are the only important group, woman are so secondary that there is no need to even tempt them.
5) Why should we avoid chat groups on social media of people we don't know personally?
Subtext: Everyone out there is a potential Moabite woman. If you are not always hyper-vigilant, then God will definitely murder you at Armageddon, he's very good at mass murder as we have read.
Conclusion: Don't talk to anyone who doesn't share you exact values, or think in a different way. Be suspicious of strangers and always remain on high alert.
If not, God is going to straight up murder your ass.

I learned this at an early age watching my father serve as an Elder. The man just couldn't keep his freaking mouth shut:
- I knew about the mean-faced pioneer who had an affair behind her MS husband's back and got private reproof
- The virtue signaling MS' pornography problem
- Sister spinster's depression
Edit: But he could never tell me whether or not his Elder buddy was guilty or innocent of molesting a sister because "ThE BrAnCh sAiD tO kEep iT CoNfIDeNTiAL" - fucking idiots π€¬π€¬
I could go on and on. I knew never to talk to the Elders about anything I wasn't comfortable with the whole congregation knowing. It's amazing how fast gossip and slander can travel in this cult.
After deleting all my old social media accounts and starting a new one with just worldly/pomos, the first 8 new follow requests I got were from - you guessed it: busybodies, regular pioneers, elders wives. Some of these people I've never had a conversation with longer than 5 minutes.
Insane.
They're probably up to speed on my deletion and have heard rumblings of my inactivity - looking to dig for new dirt on me. Weeks after I stepped down I got messages from someone mentioning details from the conversations I had with my Elders when I wanted to stop being an MS.
It's amazing that they have the audacity to say "if you ever want to talk or go out for coffee I am here".
LMFAO. As if I would EVER agree to that.

So I'm not entirely sure if the video is new or if they're showing older videos but this one wow just ridiculous lmao. I wasn't paying full attention cuz i never do, just enough to make my parents think I am but I think I actually glimpsed a clip that had a girl talking to a wordly guy at school and she thought to herself that if she continues to talk to him she'll end up a single mom with 3 kids, LMFAO. Wtf?
JWS are getting more and more deluded by the minute. I think that's one of their biggest problems, they're sexually repressed and sexually ignorant. They don't believe in sex education or birth control unless you're about to get married.
Even showed a picture of people on zoom calls, picture of Lett and then a drawing of a food box.
So fucking ridiculous
On tonightβs Local Needs: 1) Are you spending too much time on social media and youtube watching cat videos? 2) Are you rushing off zoom the moment the meeting ends just to watch cat videos and missing out on socialising with your brothers and sisters? 3) Are you paying attention to this talk or are you thinking about the cat videos you posted and seeing how many likes you get? π€ Guess someone has a cat video problem...

The new show First Touch is really nice, the sharp difference in vibe from the regular broadcasts suits the show really well, and makes for a really comfortable watching experience.
If I've understood it correctly, Overtime was supposed to be similar, like a recap show? Wondering what peoples thoughts are when comparing the two? Also anybody know why Overtime was shut down?
