A list of puns related to "Lymphocyte"
If so, how is it done?
Via bone marrow extraction perhaps?
I (17f) received my official diagnoses yesterday of what type of Hodgkin's I have and a PET scan is scheduled in two weeks to learn about staging but I believe I'm either 1a or 2a. My particular type of Hodgkins is pretty rare and even weirder because of my age and that i'm a girl. I read that it's about 1/million per year with 3/4 being male and the age range commonly being 30 to 50. Super weird. I probably won't have to have any chemo because this is very non-aggressive and slow growth which I'm super happy for! My doctor spoke of only radiation for my treatment. Has anyone else had this particular type and can tell me more?
20, male. Im a bit worried about the results of a blood test from 2019 and one that I got recently. In both blood tests I got 52/55% of lymphocytes (which according to the results is higher than normal), and 37/35% of neutrophils (lower than normal). Absolute counts are within normal ranges (4.00/4.31 x10^3/ul lymphocytes, 2.83/2.73 x10^3 neutrophils), but the percenteages being higher than normal scare me because I have looked for causes for this and one of them was leukemia. The rest of the blood test was normal, total counts of both red cells and white cells are normal. Platelets are normal, and the volumes of red and white cells and platelets are normal as well. I feel fine, no symptoms of anything. I am not taking any medication, and barely have any allergies, though I am allergic to cats and I live with cats
Anyone knows what could be causing this and if I should worry about it? I can provide more specific info about both blood tests if needed
Thanks ^^
Anyone had this from their monitoring blood tests?
I currently get tested every 2 weeks, last test was fine but this one showed raised creatinine levels (kidney function) and raised lymphocytes (white cells).
The hospital didn't seem concerned (UK NHS) but surely there must be a reason for them rising?
I have been having issues with ears and throat since starting this medication too, sort of like fullness and aching, sinus infections maybe?
Anyone experienced any of this?
blood test result shows itβs at 14. can flu cause this much of low count
Iβm prefacing this in asking that you please be compassionate and delicate with any responses because Iβm extremely crushed and torn up right now. And bawled my eyes out as a grown man tonight.
My roughly 15 year old cat has lymphocyte counts of 19,000. A year ago they were a normal range of 5,000.
Hes strictly indoor, negative for FIV and leukemia. Iβve been referred to an oncologist and intend to go.
My vet, God bless her, sheβs so nice, but I could hear the concern in her tone.
Heβs hyperthyroid and medicated with methimazole and managed well, thatβs fine for now. He has chronic ongoing respiratory viral issues probably from extreme kennel cough when adopted, thatβs nothing new. He sneezes often but itβs not a major issue.
With the 19,000 count, it would seem to be to be high grade lymphoma so likely a poor prognosis. Heβs eating fine, drinking excessive water and bouts of diarrhea thatβs persisted for 3-4 months which triggered me to take him and to get his thyroid rechecked.
What am I looking at here? Iβm willing to spend money but I wonder if in the grand scheme itβs worth it.
I am calling the oncologist next Monday to get in as soon as I can.
I bawled my eyes out tonight and am really struggling. This cat is the world to me and my emotional support and my absolute best friend. Is there any hope at all? Iβd consider chemo but if itβs buying him 9 months only I have to question if the stress he would ensure and expense would be worth it..
Please, any encouragement or insight. Is there anything other than prednisone or dietary that can help him manage or strengthen his immune system ? Any alt treatments or anything i can do to make it better, progress slower, or make him more comfortable.
Thanks for your kindness
I've yo-yo'd back and forth between thinking I have been dealing with withdrawal problems from Lexapro, and COVID, but I've never heard of Lexapro causing blood work like that.
Wouldn't I also have antibodies as well, if my blood work indicates some sort of chronic infection going on? My health has been so weird for the past year and a half. My hematologist didn't seem concerned, but I've told him I've felt sick over and over. No clue.
I just had a blood test for regular checkup, no symptoms, pain or anything at all.
My results indicates a high TSH, which is hypothyroidism, I think may be Hashimoto's disease.
However, what I am worried about the most is the high # of lymphocytes at 5.1. I am googling this and am terrified, sick to my stomach and pretty much lifeless that a possible cause of this could be leukemia. I will see my gp in a few days, but right now, all my thoughts are only about this problem. I guess I have a big case of anxiety and hypochondria. I do not feel the symptoms associated with leukemia like fever/chills, swollen lymph nodes, nose bleeding, easy bleeding, bruising, persistent fatigue or red spots on my skin, sweating at night.
However, I did see mentions of elevated lymphocytes over 5.0 linking to CCL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia) AT Rai stage 0, which would show none of these symptoms.
Very worried. I do noticed a few weeks ago I did have sweating at night, but only that time and it was because I was wearing that night a sweater to bed, because it was cold since we're in winter.
I read a lot about this and will definitely ask my gp for an hematologist to run the flux cytometry test, but who knows when I will be able to get the results and I am very impatient and anxious about this. My mood has completely changed since receiving this test result. I just want to lay in bed and all day and not even eat or go to the gym and workout. I lost all motivation and am very worried and scared.
Below are my recent blood test results:
Male 27
TSH 5.77 (Normal: 0.35-5.50) - HIGH
Neutrophiles 0.25 (Normal: 0.45-0.75) - LOW
Lymphocytes 0.66 (Normal: 0.25-0.45) - HIGH
Monocytes 0.01 (Normal: 0.02-0.12) - LOW
Lymphocytes # 5.1 (Normal: 1.0-4.9) - HIGH
WBC: 7.7 - NORMAL
RBC: 5.17 - NORMAL
HB: 151 - NORMAL
HT: 0.461 - NORMAL
Platelets: 212 - NORMAL
βImmune deficiency leads to reduced production of lymphocytes, cells of the immune system that recognize foreign substances and cells. Without their vigilance cancer cells can go unnoticed and be allowed to reproduce. It is Dr. Aboβs contention that this reduced production and activity of lymphocytes is one of the main causes of cancer (if not the main cause), and that this reduction is stress-induced.
Cancer cells are not healthy cells, they do not function as well as healthy cells and they are not strong. Remember, they have great difficulty in getting energy since they can only utilize glucose and can only do so very inefficiently and to a very limited extent. This should already tell you that cancer cells are not strong. Researchers find that they have to inject a million or more cancer cells into an experimental animal before the animal develops cancer. The majority of the injected cancer cells are destroyed by the animalβs lymphocytes.β

Iβve been curious what to expect with lymphocyte counts the further I am removed from my kidney transplant. Iβm about a year and a half past my transplant and consistently hover around low 1,000 to maybe 1,150.
Itβs certainly improved from early on, though Iβve been curious as to where that generally fits into the averages of a kidney transplant. Itβs at the very low end of normal which is great, just having a hard time figuring out if I should count my lucky stars or keep hoping for a further climb. I mean, both is probably the answer π€·π»
If youβve got any thoughts on this please share!
Hello docs! I recently had a blood test that came with the following results: 36.8% neutrophils out of a 38-80% range (so considered low) and 52.3 lymphocytes out of a 15-49% range (so considered high). What could this mean? I unfortunately googled this and heard some nerve wracking possibilities, like leukemia. I am 29, male, works out regularly, non smoker and casual drinker with no prior tests results showing something like this (at least to my recollection). Thank you so much in advance! π
I realized my neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio has gone up with the first having increased around 20% and the second going down 20%
I am freaking out because it can mean increased inflammation and my high sensitivity C-Reactive Protein was 3.0 in 2021 August and in 2019 the non-high sensitivity one was 1.7
Does it mean POIS is some chronic inflammatory imbalance?
I am afraid the inflammatory markers might increase
But at the same time also my red blood cell count/Hematocrite has increased probably due to me having grown larger and gained weight
Are we doomed to have a continuously worsening inflammatory state?
On left are the newest results and on the right previous ones before them in the past

Hello, Male, 28 years old, 183cm, 95kg, not smoking. So, I am dealing with Hypochondria and my CBC triggered my fears for past two years. I've lost my father because of Lymphoma and that's the additional factor for my concerns. So last September I did cbc, everything was normal except Lymphocyte percentage (45) percent with normal range of 20-40. But the absolute count of lymphocytes was normal (2.61) I did another cbc in November and percentage was higher 48 percent, but count was still normal. Third cbc was in December and percentage was 47 and count normal again and all the other results also was within a normal range. This year in February I did cbc again but in different lab where normal ranges are indicated as 12-47 and the result was 40.5 with normal total count of lymphs and the last cbc I've made was month ago in the same lab and the result was 42 and number of lymphs normal 2.28 (1.05-3.24 range) and a little bit lower than normal rdw-sd and rdw-cv (erythrocytes normal). I am still worried as it is always above 40 percent. Please help me to understand if those results are normal, or I am dealing with the same disease my father had.
major fatigue, night sweats, excessive sweating, bad hair loss, inability to gain weight, heart palpitations, brain fog, confusion, some GI issues like bloating and gassiness
i was really sure it was thyroid related. tested ts3 ts4 tsh all came back within normal range, this is the only thing that came back super abnormal :-( i was really hoping this would find something to help diagnose me.
this lymph% was 57% in 2019 and 48% in 2017. i wasnβt sick with a cold during any of the blood tests. please help!! i just want to feel normal
Hi folks, Quick summary, Iβm 29 & female in NorCal.
I was diagnosed with joint hyper mobility a few years ago and have severe issues from it, I canβt work and have bad chronic pain, joint issues, chronic GI issues, etc. (this was a sudden onset for all symptoms, too). A few doctors have said I could have hEDS but I will not say for sure due to there being no definitive test for it. Joint hyper-mobility syndrome is the only diagnosis I have so far. I got some blood work done, with low lymphocyte results as well as positive ANA, and a 39 out of 40 on the Lupus test (it says up to 40 is norm and Iβm 39).
My drs says they results mean nothing, but Iβve had multiple blood test with low lymphocytes along with these other markers. Iβm wondering if anyone else with EDS or another connected tissue disease also have these results?
Iβm just trying to figure out if this is something I should try to get a dr to look more into or not!!
They say itβs nothing to worry about, but when I researched all of them it seems to indicate soft tissue problems which I have, and donβt think itβs fair to brush off the test results!
Let me know if you guys have any advice! Xoxo
Dear All,
My wife started to take Tecfidera (Dimethyl fumarate) this March. Back then in March her baseline Lymphocyte measured in her blood was around ~ 1.00 G/L. In May she was tested again which showed that her Lymphocyte count has dropped to 0.8 G/L and the November result was even lower: 0,39 G/L.
Did you experience the same with Tecfidera?
Apart from that she feels OK. Despite this low Lymphocyte count she had no infections or illness or anything and fortunately she had no MS symptoms at all since she is on the medication.
The reason why I am raising this is that her doctor was telling us that if two consecutive blood results show Lymphocyte count lower than 0.5 G/L then we may need to change to other medication. In general we are satisfied with Tecfidera and apart from the blush on her face she had no other side effects.
I am not sure if it's related but both the May and the November test was done one week after a Pfizer shot.
Thank you for your response.
