I just built my first longship and it feels awesome sailing around the ocean! I need more iron, so I sail to a nearby costal swamp and jump out and go into a crypt and start getting that sweet iron. As you may have already guessed, when I go back out to load up the goods into the ship, it's been destroyed.
It's night, I'm cold, wet, not rested and running low on food. But there is still hope ! After a few near death experiences running around the shore, I successfully recovered everything from the ship wreck except the deer hide.
I now find myself in the half cleared crypt, wondering what my next move is, and how to avoid this situation next time.
My plan is to store all the scrap iron in a chest in the crypt and escape into the Black Forest to hunt some deer and then sail home. And when I return, I'll either destroy the shop myself, or have it loaded with building material to build a fortified dock.
How do you plan your mining expeditions ?
I just finished this novel and as a fan of historical fiction it was quite a fun read. Would like to chat with some other history fans over the book, starting question might be whether the author considered Christianity superior to the Pagan religions. I found it quite refreshing that the novel never gets too moralistic, alltough the ending might imply it still favors Christianity. What do you think?
I’m currently doing a one city always war challenge with Norway. So, I thought I might as well take advantage of the coastal raid ability of the Viking Longship. And boy, am I having fun with this unit. This game has basically been me, sailing up to every civ and just pillage the crab out of all their coastal improvements and districts, then wait for them to repair them and start all over again. And even if the unit gets damaged by city strikes, enemy naval or ranged units they can just fall back into ocean tiles (where no other ship can reach them) and heal up.
Additionally, the one thing I didn’t knew, they can even capture settlers and builders with their coastal raid ability. This game I have captured around 10 builders and 4 settlers, before I stopped as I would just deny them future cities for me to pillage.
So, for anyone playing Norway, just spam those longships, have fun raiding the world and feel like a true Viking.
Hi as the headline states I'm looking for a Longship model in about 28mm.
I'm currently building a Viking Raiding party and I thought that a longship would nicely company them do you guys have any recommendations?

I need some advice about where I can get, or have built...a Viking Longship
The reason I got into sailing in the first place was because of a trip to Denmark as a child and visiting a museum which had all manner of preserved Viking ships that just captivated my imagination.
I have decided that from this day forth I have a mission. I want a Viking style Longship propelled by oars and sail exclusively designed for a crew of 40 but the problem is...who builds such a thing?
I know I sound crazy right now But that's because...I probably am. So where can we get this ship built lads?
And I was wondering what specific type of glue should I purchase and what brand of dark stain should I buy too?
Just pushed two cute lil starred Piggies onto the longship from a distant island. They seemed excited to sail to our main base. I figured they would be safe for the journey due to the new friendly fire changes and inability to aggro Serpents.
As soon as we hit top sailing speed, they quickly slid into the boat's back rail and exploded into gore. New lesson learned. RIP lil' dudes.
Esteemed Gwent players, may I present a card that needs no introduction, The An Craite Longship. I have been playing Gwent ever since it came to Android. Of all of the many cards I have played from my hand in that time, this is my favorite. What a stud of a card, a card so great it has been left alone update after update. It needs no extra help, it dare not be nerfed, it is Skellige perfection.
Playing Skellige decks, it is the perfect turn one play. If you go first and this card is left alone it can be responsible for 14 points of difference. It causes more aggro than most gold cards I play. Opponents fear and hate it. The amount of locks, poisons, banishes, kill cards, and coins spent on taking this card out of play is absurd. Opponents hash out their play stopping cards in droves over a 5 provision bronze card, and guess what, I have two of them!
After I play the An Craite Longship, what am I doing next? You have no idea. Am I doing pirate mechanics, a ship deck, going after the bloodthirst deck? You'll have to wait and find out. Either way, slinging out a damage every turn with a sexy piece of armor on it makes you have to do SOMETHING. You can't let that beauty stay there no matter what my strategy is.
So you either let me play a 5 provision card worth 14 points of total point difference or waste a valuable play stopping card on a 5 provision bronze card. This card is art, it is glory, it is Gwent in its most beautiful form. An Craite Longship, I salute you. To the dev who created you, bless your heart. Norse longships do not look like they were be good for raiding or trading at all. Every recreation I have ever seen requires it to be practically filled from bow to stern with people rowing for it to even operate, and there wasn't any below-deck storage for goods or money. So where did they keep everything? Not even just trade goods or stolen things, but even food, fresh water, medical supplies? Stuff to make a trip lasting longer than half a day?
Of course it was versatile for shallow rivers or the sea, but the ship itself seems completely impractical for long voyages, especially for the weeks or even months-long trips that would eventually lead to the New World.
