For those who might not remember, Lita Byrnes was stabbed almost 100 times by her psychopathic roommate back in 2018 when she asked him to move out. This is the reddit thread and the Seattle Times article.
Her friends showed up this week and gave moving victim impact statements. The sentence for first degree, premeditated murder with deliberate cruelty in the death was 48 years, 10 years longer than that recommended by the state for the crime, and not long enough in my opinion.
I don't know if this will be of interest to anyone, but I knew the killer well. I'm blocking it out and avoiding his name because I don't think it's as important as the people who knew the victims, but I thought someone might care to read my reflections and think about how this happens.

He was an asshole, and his mom rescued him.!<
