Netflix secures Sony’s catalog of films, outbidding Lionsgate

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nexttv.com/amp/news/netflix-strikes-deal-for-sony-theatrical-slate

Check it out, and let me say this borders on a shitpost. This is some TIN FOIL HAT theorizing, but if you squint really hard you could almost hallucinate that Theta is somehow involved in all this. Lionsgate: Theta partner. Sony: Theta partner. Did Netflix just outbid Lionsgate for something involving Theta’s video delivery tech?

The trading activity we’ve seen today has been really strange in my personal opinion. It’s a series of large orders. Almost as if a whale is trying to fill their bags without triggering the next monster move. Is this Netflix?

There is so much buzz in the shadows about who could be joining Theta’s roster next. This is far from evidence, but it raises questions for me.

I think that, by the end of this year when a huge number of dizzying announcements are in the rear-view, we’re gonna be looking back and saying β€œthe writing was on the wall the whole time!” Is this an example?

Those of you watching GuardianMonitor and your own nodes have probably noticed that much of today’s purchases have been getting staked. I’m talking like 500,000.

Discuss.

Edit: added β€œmeme” flair due to confusion over whether or not someone could actually read the body of this post and think that I’m announcing something as though it were factual, regardless of the fact that the post itself lacks any kind of claim other than the one that is factual.

To help combat potential leaks and spoilers before the release of the film, I’ve temporarily made u/Lionsgate a moderator of the sub

In the event that information is leaked out between now and the films release that isn’t meant to be put out there yet, I’ve temporarily made Lionsgate a moderator of the subreddit to monitor posts and take action if need be.

This was my decision to do so and they have agreed to this, as I care about keeping things under wrap as much as they do until the films release. In the event that I might be at work and not monitoring everything, and something happens to get leaked during that timeframe, they will have the ability to take action.

Let me know if there’s any questions, thanks!

Just some thoughts I had after Lionsgate released the in depth synopsis of the film.

So we know the movies opens on 4th of July with Det.Boswick chasing a person and then getting caught and put in the train trap. Then we have a clip of William joining the precinct and meeting Zeke for the first time. After the train trap. Wouldn't it be weird for William to be the killer? Like he would do the train trap then join the precinct and then do the rest of the killings. Why not do all the killings after joining the precinct? Why one kill before? This makes me think even more that Will isn't the killer. It just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe "Emmerson" is the killer and Will joins the force to keep an eye on what the detectives are doing.

As Warner Brothers has made a historic decision to send their film catalog to streaming, will Lionsgate follow suit and send SPIRAL to VOD?

The times are changing again as big ticket releases like Wonder Woman, Godzilla vs Kong and The Matrix 4 will head to HBO MAX a month after launch. Assuming theaters can open by May next year (I'm a pessimist so I tend to dispute this), will Lionsgate send SPIRAL to streaming early? And if so, how r/SAW feel about watching the movie at home?

Personally, I'd really like the opportunity to watch the movie in the theaters. However, the studios can't sit on their releases forever, so I guess I'd be happy to watch the film at home. I still believe that this would be best seen with an audience reacting to all the cool fucked shit that will be in the movie but, what can you do?
