A list of puns related to "Lake Trout"
Iβm very new to lake trout fishing. Can I get some pointers. As in rod type, line type, and lure type. Iβm going to Burntside lake by lost girl island. I was told to use braided line? Anything helps. Iβd appreciate it. Itβd be my first attempt. Iβm going via my snowmobiles
On Jan 5th 2017, the parks board removed the thin ice signs and allowed skating on Trout Lake: Vancouver Sun article from 2017
Here's the links to the Environment Canada historical weather stats for December 2016 and January 2017.
So in answer to the questions that have already started coming in - nobody knows for sure if the lakes will freeze enough to skate on, but based on the historical data from last time it happened, it looks a lot colder this coming week than it did 5 years ago. Back then we still dipped above 0 during the daytime, and it never fell under -10 overnight. The warmest it's been today was -6 at midnight.
So, draw your own conclusions; I have no qualifications aside from being able to google historical data. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go lace up my skates.....
First time going for them. Been on the bucket list. How do I get them thru the ice? Any tips an advice welcomed. I'm experienced at ice fishing just never gone to Maine.
Does anyone have any experience fly fishing the norther lakes? Big lake, woods canyon, etc and what some good flies are to use during X time of year?
What are your personal favorite tips/tactics when it comes to zeroing in on the bigger stocked trout in a body of water? For instance my favorite rainbow lake is a good mix of 10-26" fish. Fishing usual shallow flats in 3-7fow yields many fish up to 16" and every once in awhile a 20+ fish will come in. How do many of you go about seeking out the bigger fish consistently?
So we have a boat, a couple spoons and lures, and the dipsy divers that the people at bass pro recomended. What are the main ideas of this. For example, when should we get out? What depth? Or anything else. We do know that there are some lakes around us with the fish in them.
Looking to try my hand at ice fishing lake trout for the opener. Can you point me towards some accessible trout lakes?
Edit: will happily take any suggestions but ideally am looking for lakes within the BWCA so I can fish the BWCA lake trout opener. Thanks
Going fishing Saturday (to beat the atmospheric river coming sunday.
Anybody been out there recently? Thanks!!
Pretty new to ice fishing. What kind of lures and techniques should I use to catch some stocked rainbows?
Just caught my first rainbow trout today and ran home to cook it. I cook fish from the grocery store many times a week, so I was really surprised with how the fresh fish flesh curled up when I fried it in butter with the skin on. Am I supposed to brine it? Do something different with the skin? I have more to cook tomorrow so I want to do it right for my family.
