i actually don't hate the reboot so far (i'm on ep 10) but my god do i hate julien. i know some ppl on this sub dislike her as well, so i know i'm not Alone— i just wanted to go off about it. :S i didn't expect another blair to be the MC nor do i want a carbon copy of blair, but why in the world did they think julien was an interesting enough character to warrant being MC and queen of constance?! WHEN MONET IS RIGHT THERE?! julien is one of the most boring characters on this show that i'm actually more invested in kate than i am anything to do with her. the way they've handled her "fame" is tragic and one dimensional and unrealistic in a way that isn't even fun, and we barely see any part of her ruling the school or influencing her peers in a natural way (which... that's the appeal of gossip girl, or at least in the OG.) i have no idea what went on when they decided she was a better fit for MC instead of monet's character or even luna.
also, don't get me started on the teachers being gg lol. i don't even hate the idea of kate being gg by herself, but now that they've added 500 different teachers it's just so messy and convoluted that i don't understand how they haven't been outed by now by each other or just by accident.
anyways, other than that, the reboot is better than i thought it'd be!!! queen monet for s2
