A list of puns related to "Jordan Curve"
What are the Jordan curve theorems for higher genus surfaces? I'm thinking of something like a surface with n handles can be represented as a 2(n+1) sided polygon Q with opposite sides identified. Let C be a ``closed" non-self-intersecting curve from a point p on one side to the point on the ``opposite side" ``identified" with p. Then Q \ C is `` topologically equivalent" to a 2k sided polygon with opposite sides identified where k<n+1.
Would also appreciate a simple reference on topology of curves on surfaces not interested in proofs just want a kind of list of theorems about curves on surfaces that non-topologists might want to know.

I'm wondering: Why is the Jordan Curve Theorem difficult to prove?
My first guess is that perhaps "continuous" functions are simply not nice enough to make it easy to prove.
But to clarify my question: perhaps there is a subtle assumption from the theorem, if removed, might make the theorem false....
If so what are these subtle assumptions?
If we work from my first guess about "continuity," can we weaken this assumption ever so slightly to make the conclusion if the theorem false?
So I'm confused.
I've checked a couple of different authentic retail pairs and the reverse swoosh curve is so inconsistent.
I've seen one pair where the curve ends just above the stitching (see left image below) and one that curves much further up around half way between the stitching and top of the shoe (see right image - apologies for bad resolution)
Then finally, looking at this comparison set here - the retail pair - the curve overlaps the stitching?

Does anyone know the correct placement of the curve to aid in better self-QC?
In 1994, British American fashion designer and entrepreneur James Jebbia launched his retail magnum opus, Supreme. Twenty-six years later, and weβve arrived at the current state of trying to buy anything online.
I kid. Well, mostly. The combination fashion/sneaker public did not invent automated checkouts, but these people have perfected the craft. Itβs no longer a basic Python script, this is an art. A learning curve in and of itself. At the best of times, online shopping is a quick and convenient alternative to ever going outside. At the worst of times, items disappear from your cart mid coffee sip, stores sell out in an f5, your IP gets banned for unknown reasons, Chrome freezes irreversibly, and you log on to Twitter just to see someone with five-thousand orders placed on the thing you only wanted one of.
Bottingβthe use of automated checkout scriptsβis a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. Iβve probably made that reference already, but it still stands. Users of the Dark Arts can have sneakers and box logo hoodies set for delivery without getting out of bed. They can order in the tens, dozens, hundreds at the highest level. And, ideally for them, they can flip this investment around into cold, hard profit. At least, they used to. As you might have heard, a bill has been reintroduced by House and Senate Democrats that if passed would crack down on online botting. For Americans, this sounds pretty good. On the other hand, it doesnβt feel like this should have come down to legislation, right? Why havenβt the companies making these products, selling these products, not just enable stricter anti-bot practices? More on that later, but when it comes to the bot hustle, we have a lot to unpack.
The Before Times
What does a drop day look like in 2022? A lot different from how things used to be, and not just because of times wot are unprecedented. Before Nike SNKRS, before Adidas Confirmed, before the site bandwidth nightmare that is Supreme New York Dot Com at 11am, getting the fashion pieces one wanted was beautifully simple. Things operated on (old) concert ticket logic; if you want it, line up. How early do you line up? Well, how badly do you want it?
The art of queueing up has not totally died. For the purists, or those fed up with botting, the line is still the preferred method of doing things. But lining up for shoes or clothes is not the same as lining up

The first question that folks have asked me: Is DeMar worth it? The answer is an unequivocal βyes.β He will fit in just fine at the 3, and if you want to have fun with small-ball lineups, he can hold his own at the 4. Heβs an elite two-way threat, a consummate 3-and-D player. This Galaxy Opal card will be available until February 1. If I did it, you can do it.
The Option Packs within the Agendas allow you to βchoose your own adventure.β Here are some tips for how to approach the grind.
Ruby Option Pack
Score 125 points over multiple Single Player games = Self-explanatory. As tempting as it might be to finish this one first, Iβd unlock one of the players through the Ruby Option Pack before finishing this Agenda. Iβd recommend unlocking Strus, Yurtseven, Gafford or Metu first. You can work on their Agendas offline.
Score 250 points over multiple Single Player games = See above. Iβd play the Iced Out 2 Challenge as part of this Agenda. The game ends once you score 20 points with a player. You get 500 XP for winning the Challenge. You also get an Iced Out 2 Award Pack.
Score 75 points over multiple Triple Threat Online games = There are a lot of Moments Rewards players who need to complete their Agendas in TTOnline or Multiplayer games. Ruby Jaylen Nowell is a great example. Pink Diamond Kemba Walker is TTO-specific.
Score 75 points over multiple Unlimited games = Same idea applies here. Try to knock this out in one game, if you can. Through the grace of a minor miracle, I dropped 85 on an opponent who was running Pink Diamonds out the wazoo yesterday. I moved to the Ruby Tier. Bing bong. Once again, if I can do it, you can do it.
Score 75 points over multiple Clutch Time games = Again, try to stack this with players whose Agendas are Multiplayer or Clutch Time-specific. Amethyst Devonte Graham comes to mind. Weβll discuss him in a minute. Pink Diamond Trae Young also comes to mind.
Amethyst Option Pack
Get 16 rebounds with Omer Yurtseven over multiple TT or TTO games = This dude is enormous. My only tip here is to run him with two small guards in TT. You can definitely grab all the rebounds in one game. Is that Spud Webbβs music?
Make 8 3-pointers with Max Strus in a single game = Best to be done offline. Thankfully, his jumper was changed. Heβs got a smooth release now, especially off the catch. Not too difficult. If you want to make your life easier, toss a Gold Shoe on him.
Score 29 points with Jaylen Nowell over multiple Multiplayer ga

βIf you imagine the sort of trauma that weβre expected to recognize, uh, that someone says they say they experience because of mean words on the internet, and we have this economy based on, um, what we all know is not true, but the, you know, these trivial, frivolous things can cause some kind of actual trauma. For an organization like that, or someone in public life to come out and say that this huge thing actually didnβt cause me that much trauma, it sort of imperils the whole victimhood economy, doesnβt it? Because if itβs the case that many or even most people who experience this simply donβt have their lives ruined and defined by it, that rather imperils the people whoβve made a career out of squawking victimhood for far far less serious experiences.β
-Milo Yiannopoulos, Jordan B. Peterson Podcast S2 #9 A Conversation with Milo Yiannopoulos (36:11)
How are our lives affected by trauma? Some would say deeply. Others might say barely at all. One thing is for certain: it can be hard to tell for sure. In Season 2 Episode 9 of the Jordan B. Peterson Podcast, Peterson interviews Milo Yiannopoulos about the events leading up to and following his controversial remarks about his experience being subject to sexual abuse as a teenager, comments which lead to a public downfall of sorts. In the podcast, Jordan opens a clearer and more personal window into what led up to those events, shining light on (among other things) whether Milo himself might perhaps have been shaped by his own traumatic experiences.
Early on in the podcast, Milo goes back on something he said at the time of the controversy and states that in fact, now, he has come to find what happened to him strongly objectionable. Itβs common knowledge that being in a position of powerlessness can at times be hard for some to accept. Peterson points out that often when we look back at memories, they can be distorted in that we may not see them as happening to a younger version of ourselves, but to ourselves as we stand right now. This can lead us to reframe things as though we had more control over or i
