There was an interesting post yesterday about players who are known for one play, and one of the top comments was about Jerome Simpson who is almost exclusively known for his front-flip touchdown over a dude thatβs been featured in every NFL TV promo since it happened in 2012, for good reason. But that wasnβt an important play, it was just a dude who had a pretty unremarkable career being extra in a regular season game against a meh team while on a team that failed to do anything consequential.
So your task: letβs say you do marketing for the NFL. You need to create a short montage of short highlight clips showcasing the absolute best entertainment that the NFL has to offer. Your audience is broad. They may not watch football, they may not know any players or the context associated with various historic plays in playoff games and Super Bowls, they may not even understand what football is or what the rules of the game are.
But you have to sell them on it. You have to showcase the insanely athletic catches, the savage hits, the impossible throws, and the ridiculous runs that the NFL has offered for over 100 years.
Whatβs making the cut on your highlight tape?
I think itβs interesting. Is the David Tyree helmet catch that cool if it didnβt happen in the Super Bowl? Is the Malcolm Butler interception jaw-droppingly insane if you donβt know that it basically robbed the Seahawks of a repeat? Is the Minneapolis Miracle historically insane if it didnβt happen in the postseason?
Among the young actors who you think are so determined to get to the top that they will literally do anything and everything that takes for them to be there. Who are hustling very much to be there. Like dating influential ppl , playing dirty PR game etc.
I choose - Rakul Preet Singh and Vicky Kaushal
I am making this post coz i am genuinely curious about how people think about this. But a lot of UC people seem to have the opinion, that caste based discrimination is bad, but there is nothing wrong in having a caste identity coz its our culture and past.
But my problem is with the fact that we still identify with our castes at all !! We have studied science and know that there is no biological difference between people of different castes or races. We know all humans are the same.
To define your identity by the profession of your ancestors is just inherently unscientific. We know that professional skills are not passed down genetically. So there is no reason to classify entire progenies by profession. The whole premise of caste is ridiculous and illogical.
Why do we still hold onto our caste identities. Like even our names based on it. Wouldn't it be better for India as a country to en masse shun their caste identity and adopt a more rational approach to our personal lives.
Mine are Jeff Hardy, Johnny Gargano, and John Cena.
Do they really delete everything? Which companies do you know keep what data?

Personally for me it's Irene and Elara (I suck at boy names so I have no preference lol)
Wages are the tip of the iceberg of the power relationships between capitalists and workers.
Workers are convinced to neglect those power relationships and only look at their individual productivity, but this is extremely short-sighted, and the working classes are paying the price for those decades of neglect.
Actually solving the abuse and exploitation of the working classes and the public means building solidarity, even if you individually are doing okay at the moment.
