To give you a bit of backstory I begin lifting after college at an estimated 275lbs in June 2004 and lost most of that weight from February through July of 2005 to the tune of about 90+ lbs. This was done through a low carb diet, but sticking to higher protein and lower fats than the keto diet. I kept the weight off for a while. In 2010 when I was measured I was at 205 (21.8%) so up from my low of about 174 (12-15%?). I attribute most of that to lack of focus and kind of being relaxed about weight loss and maintenance weight with still being much below my previous weight highest weight. In March of 2010 I began dieting realizing I had college graduation coming up and probably let myself go a bit. So from then until about the end of May 2010 I lost about 26lbs weighing in at 179. After this period began the long back slide…. I started a crap “first real job” out of school and it put a lot of stress on me so I gained a bit of weight and didn’t work out as much as I should have. Then a few other jobs until at I was around 215-220. Around this time I found out that I was having my first child and sort of ate what my wife ate – I just did what I wanted and went to the gym even less. So fast forward to last month July 2015 – I weighed in at 264 and decided it was time to do something. So both my wife and I have been doing Keto with solid results. I am currently at 246 as of this am. I have been here before and have a good amount of lifting experience. The only concern is that I am not losing weight as fast as I was the first time through which can only be explained by the differences from the initial weight loss protocol to current.

I'm in the process of doing a deep-dive into Tyrese Haliburton's season so far, and I came across some fairly startling numbers regarding how much the he's being utilized as a focal point of the offense.

Raw Numbers

So at a glance, these are Haliburton's numbers on the year:

• 13.5 points
• 6.9 assists
• 3.9 rebounds
• 46.3% FG
• 43.0% 3FG
• 80.7% FT

Per 75 possessions:

• 14.3 points
• 7.4 assists
• 4.2 rebounds
• 46.3% FG
• 43.0% 3FG
• 80.7% FT

He's only averaging 0.5 more points and 1.6 more assists than he was last year. For a player that showed so much promise, you would think that he would be improving more than he has. For a second year guy to improve my such a small margin is unusual, especially on a team where you would expect him to play a large enough role to see improvement.

He's still very efficient, clocking a 57.5% TS.

Usage

This is by far the most startling part of what I found when researching this topic. If you're unfamiliar with usage rate, it's essentially what percentage of plays a player is involved in while on the floor that ends with them. Last year, Haliburton had a usage rate of 18.1%.

This year, Haliburton has a usage rate of 17.6%. He is being utilized less than he was last year. As a matter of fact, both this year and last, he was below league average in usage rate. There are role players on teams that are worse than Sacramento that have higher usage rates than Haliburton.

Here's the breakdown of Sacramento's usage rates (minimum 10 games played):

That's an indictment on the coaching staff for not making use of one of the most efficient scorers/playmakers that you have at your disposal.

You might think of Abercrombie & Finch as the store you used to shop at when at the mall as a teenager.. you know, the store with the clothes that had Abercrombie & Finch written all over everything? But here's the thing: their clothes are actually kinda cool now. They have thankfully adapted to the times and are offering a very inoffensive and trendy selection of clothing. But most of you don't care about that. You're all wondering why any of this matters. Well, because fundamentally the stock is undervalued in key metrics that make me think the stock has massive upside. Let me just quickly paint the picture here:

I think in a market with insane multiples on pre-revenue companies that value is a safe place to be, and although clothing retail is as boring of a sector as it gets, the multiples here cannot be overlooked. $ANF is undervalued. It should trade higher than the current price.

Background info: I have eight years experience as a nurse assistant, a year at a hospital, two at a dementia care nursing home, and five in home health, but have worked in government the last seven. I understand this is not the same as being a nurse but I did a lot of the same tasks, especially in home health.

Anyway I was watching my local news and they did a feature on our hospital (top 100 hospital in nation - not even sure if that's a bragging point but they advertise it a lot). The hospital is losing over 53% of their nursing staff because of the vaccine mandate.

I have seen on this thread that nurses are making a lot of money now because of the staffing shortages. I know my local hospital won't be paying those type of wages, but I was expecting somewhere near $15 for nursing assistants.

My sister in law just got a job in the ED and they putting her through school (she won't say for what, I think it's for an assistant type certificate). I'm not making enough to live on even though I've been in my government job seven years and we recently received raises across the board to make us competitive to outside cities (still aren't, imagine that). So I thought about going back into nursing since the shortage would make it easy to get hired on and I assumed the pay would be better. I love helping people and I'm in college already with all the nursing prerequisites finished. She told me to go online and apply. There were tons of nursing assistant jobs in different departments. They don't list any of the wages except housekeeping which they list at 13-15/hr. I asked my SIL if she new the base pay for the jobs she was recommending. First she said the position paid a little more than hers. Ok I still don't know what that is... Then when I said it was frustrating they don't post salaries, she said it's because it depends on experience... Well my SIL had zero experience so why couldn't she say it would probably be around x dollars? When I asked her if she had experience (I knew she didn't) and what her starting pay was, she answered $13 with no experience.

$13 for nursing assistants is crazy! I remember how hard we worked non stop with most of the heavy lifting. I felt like she was getting taken advantage of, but I didn't say that. Just thanked her for the info. I'm making that now and don't work nearly as hard. I can't believe there's people out there busting their butts off and dealing with covid protocols and ppe gear for only $13. It's a scam. They work

And if so, why? I honestly can't tell whether this is promoted by crypto-racists trying to claim they were discriminated against too, people who think it just sounds cool and counter-intuitive, or people with a critical race perspective.

When someone loses their seed phrase / cold storage wallet or dies without passing them on to an heir, their crypto is effectively gone forever.

However, that crypto is still technically reflected in the market cap because the charts don't track how much of each crypto is "lost". This means that a significant fraction of the "value" at any given time is entirely fictitious.

As time goes on, the percentage of crypto that is associated with wallets that are inaccessible to anyone period will monotonically increase, eventually (provided enough time) hitting 100%.

I was asked how many plants I have after talking with some friends. I've always ball parked it around 30-40. So I counted. 68. 68 plants. Not including propagations and plants I am growing outside and planning to bring in at some stage. What about you? How many do you think you have vs the actual number??

A lot of folks seemed to think he could take on Shunsui and Ukitake. Really confusing, especially since Ukitake's shikai hard counters the Lanza. I personally believe most of Ulquiorra's showing was just posturing to scare Ichigo. Sure the Lanza explosion was huge but as Ichigo's dad explained, spirit pressure > size. I think he would be stopped by Byakuya or a serious Zaraki (kendo). Not including Gin, Tosen or Aizen ofc. What do you guys think?

A demotivated IMT such as myself has noted little change in my day to day since FY1 in the same teaching hospital. I am still a glorified phlebotomist/cannulator and discharge summarist/scan organiser. Occasionally on an on call, I might do some actual medicine despite being in my fourth postgrad year and having done PACES.

Purely from an efficiency standpoint, isn’t it inefficient to pay me to do just this? People in other countries are running wards/clinics/lists with less experience and are actually doing medicine

1. Bloods/cannulas routinely and admission bloods:

• Pay phlebotomists/nurses more to do it. The ratio of nurses to patients is far more than doctors and it makes no sense that fully qualified nurses say “they aren’t signed off”.
• the most efficient cardiology service I worked in had every patient cannulated/bled like this and left doctors to do clerking/treating patients and the ward ran like clockwork.
• even less economically developed countries have systems like this and you are met with shock from Commonwealth docs (India/Pakistan/Bangladesh/Aus/NZ) or even European docs over the amount of routine bloods doctors do

2. Discharge summaries/chasing scans/ward round scribing

• Yes this can be a useful source of info and less errors with doctor summaries but departments with AHP/DAs worked so efficiently when they did these

3. Scan chasing

• massive waste of time that annoys both the junior and the radiologist
• often doesn’t make a scan happen quicker unless there is a contentious request or limited scan service

4. appointment arranging

• again efficient depts have had secretaries that sort this but too often I have had to arrange follow ups as a junior

5. Tech breakdown

• if a computer breaks which it does on a daily basis, it’s my job to chase IT and try and fix it myself
• Good IT systems and working computers save us hours

6. Portering/moving patients

• porters are in shortage so it’s often quicker to drag the bed myself to urgent scan

It just seems that the above would make doctors happier as well because you’re not asking a doctor to spend years with exams and masses of debt to do a job that someone with minimal training could do in terms of the day to day admin. This is not equivalent to say specialist procedures like LPs/CVC/arterial lines etc which take time and need competency and proficiency which a doctor is more likely to provide.

Long story short is that we have had a lot of turnover at my firm (national) lately and most recently it has been all of my close friends. It’s no secret in the firm how close I was to these people. The one I’d go to lunch with a couple times a week (pre pandemic lol) for years.

I have not been seriously looking for another job at all during my employment, but I sometimes do field HR/recruiter calls just to see what other firms pay or hours. Usually they offer me about 10%-15% raise.

So the managing partner calls me into her office today, which is alarming because I have probably talked to her <5 times in my 6 years of employment. She just cuts to the chase and says “rumor has it your thinking about leaving. I just want you to know how valued you are. What did your friends leave for, I’ll match it no questions asked, just tell me what I need to tell payroll”. So I walked out of there with a 15k raise in 5 mins.

I went back to my cube and I couldn’t really comprehend what just happened. Was I so underpaid they were wiling to pay me anything? Or do they really value me? To put it into perspective, I’m actually a 4th year senior because I don’t have my CPA (surprised they haven’t showed me the door for this alone), so while I’m actually a top performer, I’m a bit handicapped by not having my CPA. This puts me at 98k base salary (historical bonuses are all over the place from 3-7k). I believe my firms current pay ranges are 60-65k for a brand new senior and 90k-93k for a first year manager (which seems to be around market rate as I have a friend at B4 who started at 90k in 2019) and I know of second year managers at 97-100k in 2020 who were then given 10-12% raises in 2021. Someone else who had quit last year at my current experience (and no CPA) was making 78k. I assume if he stuck around for 2021 comp adjustment (2020 was bad), he would have been around 85-88k. As I was a couple grand behind him, and got up to 83k. But that’s all I really have to go off of because it’s kinda rare for someone like me to have 6 years and no CPA. I’d say about 25% of my current work is manager level as I do have some of my own clients (very small trash that no one else wants), but for the most part I’m under people.

The State of Nevada can pay their people so little because of the way they set up their pension (which is only 70% of your wage after you retire now, useless). On paper they pay you 1,200 per check(every 2 weeks), but they take $200 per paycheck just for the pension. If you try to opt out they lower your pay so it is just $60 more than what it would normally take home before, but now your pension is worse.

Currently trying to gain weight, so I was wondering what my TDEE was. I'm on vacation so I am walking around a lot. I'm not a scientist, but I don't think nine miles of walking in addition to daily activities only equates to 1,150 calories in total.
