WTF. How is this a good use of resources?
Thankful for MP Lee Bee Wah for bringing this issue up in Parliament during the COS debate by MCCY.
for me:
a. what is our reserves and why is it a secret? b. what are the salaries of the key appointment holders of sovereign funds management companies like Temasek c. why does the People's Association's activities seem so much like an extension of the PAP? d. why did we have a selected President and why the restrictions on race? e. why do we select non qualified people with ex military background to lead commercial enterprises like SMRT, NOL etc when there are far more qualified people in the world we can select? f. Why are Ministers' salaries peg to the top percentage of salaries earners? Why not peg them to a multiple of the median salary ? Why not peg it to performance of the economy and jobs? g. why is LKY's last wishes not respected and why is a family matter debated in Parliament? h. is the 6.9 million population target still the target? how does the government plan to achieve it? i. how did we overspend by almost 200 million for the Youth Olympics and why was nobody held accountable? j. The various mistakes made by MOH in the past few years including the HIV database scandal etc why is the Minister of Health not taken to task ? Is Ministerial responsibility not a thing in Singapore? k. Is there any evidence that privatisation of public transportation and energy market actually lead to efficiencies?
