I read this book around 2012-2014, but I'm not sure how old it really is. This one still pops up in my head from time to time, mostly the cover. I seem to remember it being all yellow with a girl in simple black line art with noticeably blue hair. She's looking down, maybe into water? I could be wrong on some of that.
The plot starts with a girl in an orphanage. I can't remember how or why she ended up there. There's something mentioned about her rain boots, or rain in general. And something about slugs getting inside the building. The head lady is not the kindest, and hates slugs.
It's revealed that she's similar to a changeling and swept off to some fantastic land. It was beautiful and garden-like. I remember a scene where a friend (a little boy?) points out that her hair is turning/ has been turning blue due to being where she'd supposed to be (?) and she looks into some water to see it. I can't think of anything else unfortunately.
I know it's not much to go off. But basically whats in the question title is all I can remember. I know at one point she is riding in like an old-timey black car/buggie situation.
I just want some real romance and drama, I'm tired of romance anime being so cringe I can't even watch it sometimes lol
Long shot, but maybe somebody knows something. I think I found it in a train station store between 2003-2006. It was one of these pretty cheap paper books for like β¬3 that probably was published as a proper book once upon a time.
The girl (maybe 15 or 16 yo) and her parents are poor and live in a camper, traveling America. The parents are professional ornithologists, but currently out of a job.
They get invited by an old lady to move into her mansion with rare birds living in the gardens. The parents are over the moon and forget everything around them besides the birds, which we later learn might be a spell because the old lady is a witch.
There is also a boy in the mansion and the girl, boy, and old lady eat dinner every evening, and the old lady seems to think it is pretty important they get to know each other. The girl starts to get stalked by a raven. Turns out it is the boy, who was cursed by the old lady like a hundred years ago.
The girl is the last of a line of girls moved in so the boy could seduce them. When he does, their youth gets magically transferred to old lady, who will get younger. She when gets rid of the parents, lives till she is old again and starts with a new girl.
Boy obviously doesn't like that and decides enough is enough, so tells the girls, and they pretend that he seduced her.
Old lady starts to complain at dinner that she still feels old and something must've gone wrong, and I can't remember if she just died of old age or if boy and girl killed her, but in the end she is dead and boy, girl, and parents live in the mansion happily ever after, because old lady was loaded.
The first and only time I saw this video was on Facebook. She was holding the cat in the air and mimicking it as he was flying while playing the Moon Theme from the game Ducktales for the NES. I think it was a Vine because of the format, but I can't say it accurately, maybe was just a Facebook video.
Alright everybody, there's 3 episodes left, so I'm wondering if anyone else is as worried about Garden Girl (Azura, played by Amy Tyger) as I am. I posted a comment to that effect earlier and basically everybody thinks she's not gonna make it ...
