I'm not sure if this is off-topic or a newbie question, so I apologize in advance. I have an old Netgate SG-1000 that used to be my pfSense appliance - would I be able to wipe this entirely and install something like Debian or Ubuntu on it, or is it more of a proprietary device that doesn't support other OSes?
Hopefully, someone can help me out.
Due to my SG-1000 not being able to download packages or install updates I needed to update via USB.
I got my firmware/software from Netgate support (pfSense-plus-SG-1000-recover-21.05.2-RELEASE-armv7.img) and wrote the image to my USB memory stick with Etcher. I followed the instruction for reimaging from here, https://doc,s.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-1000/reinstall-pfsense.html .
When I attempt to boot to the memory stick I get this error...
Watchdog enabled
I2C: ready
DRAM: 512 MiB
MMC: OMAP SD/MMC: 0, OMAP SD/MMC: 1

I have tried several different memory sticks and followed countless other things found on the internet. Including this from Netgate https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-1000/faq.html
Does anyone have any ideas?

There were eggs in the game and may or may not have been included in the title. I believe I remember white being used a lot in the background and there may have been objects falling from the top of the screen.

For Doge to become the global currency we need more companies to step up and start to offer goods and services for a set Doge price. 1 Doge = 1 Doge
We will have set prices in Doge that will update every month. So as the price of Doge goes up and down our vacation packages price will stay the same in Doge.
This is one way we can propel Doge from the bottom up.
50% of all transactions will be held in Doge in one designated wallet for at least a year before it is exchanged for any other currency.

I just got a Sega SG-1000 II I purchased in japan... The console seems to be in fairly good condition. However, I am jet to get a couple of carts to test it.

The console case is in good shape but missing the yellow pause button... so wondering about 3D printing it, however, I do not own any other one.. so wondering about if anyone with one of these consoles would mind to share the dimensions of this piece so I can design and 3D print it.
Update:
Since there have been no posts here nor in the SMSPower forums, I went ahead and asked a friedn to design a 3D printed button based on the dimensions of the hole in the unit. Now I got the 3D printed button... these is how it looks now. Not sure if this is close to the original, but is holding very well (as the unit had the interior peg which is used to press against the mechanism on the motherboard.
Not sure if this is close to the original (as I do now own another SG-1000 console) so any advice would be great to get the model adjusted to resemble the original button as much as possible. A few photos of the 3D printed button and the console with it.

Not sure about the height of the button... any feedback will be appreciated.

This guitar sounds, feels and looks amazing. But I'm kind of itching for a 24 fret guitar.. an MIJ IBANEZ or something of similar value. Located in Ventura County.. but willing to drive up to SB or the greater LA area...

Been GASing for a higher end Yamaha electric for ages... finally pulled the trigger on it. The build quality, fit and finish, etc is unbelievable. Super comfortable to play. Sounds incredible. Beautiful full cleans to killer distortion. I'm in love.

hello im looking for a duo-full 5 man team for climbing to around 1000 points which i was able to reach last season with around a 65% winrate. i may not be as active for the next 3 months because of exams but am willing to play more after them. i usually play mages (harith lunox chang'e) and dont mind flexing to mage support or offlane. also willing to be coached on how to get better at the game and specifically better at drafting. im in mythic 5 as of almost a week into the season and i do look foward to winning lots of games too :) voicecomms is not a issue either. Just out of curiosity, I decided to ask. The sega sg-1000 was released in 1983 on the same day the famicom was released. It uses nearly identical hardware, with a zilog z80 clocked at 3.58 MHz, the sn76489 For sound, and the same Texas instrument video chip. It sold a respectable 2 million units, but was completely overshadowed by the famicom with the popularity of super Mario bros. The sg-1000 can play every colecovision game thanks to identical hardware. The sg-1000 was updated to the mark III a few years later with better graphics, and came to North America and Europe as the sega master system. Still compatible with the colecovision. It was later repackaged as the handheld game gear, but still compatible with the colecovision. The sega genesis is not compatible however, since unlike the other systems, itβs video chip did not have an sg-1000 mode. And thatβs it. Is the SEGA sg-1000 welcome here? Probably not but still.
Oh, and fun fact: the famicom tool inspiration from the colecovision, when one of the engineers who worked on the famicom brought home a colecovision, and was impressed by the smooth scrolling of the colecovision, that scrolling was implemented into the famicomβs PPU. So thanks to the colecovision, we have smooth side scrolling games like super Mario bros.
Does anyone know about adding SG-1000 games to genesis mini using Hackchi and why they come up as Game Gear? Also should is use one of the Retroarch Cores for them?
