We've made it through our first holiday season crunch and we'd like to welcome all of the new Framework Laptop owners into the fold! You are amongst friends and we're glad you're here. Yes, there were logistical hurdles that many companies, not only our own, had to jump over to get product out our doors and to yours in the US and Canada. Hopefully you are all enjoying your new shinies and are taking advantage of what your Framework Laptop has to offer.

I wanted to take a moment to discuss a few topics that have been flowing through the Framework Support team as of late to hopefully clear up any confusion that might be out there regarding shipment timing of Framework Laptops, and the difference between Framework Laptop orders and Marketplace orders.

For the US and Canada, barring any outlying circumstances, we're shipping orders within 5 business days of order placement (weekends not included). We had some unexpected inventory shortages of certain components due to inbound delays from overseas which led to some short delays, but in general, we're shipping fast. We've seen some frustration from folks that have written in to attempt to change their order after a few days only to be told that their order has already been locked, picked, packed, and is ready to go out the door. While we understand that can be a frustrating experience, I'd like to explain why changing or canceling an order at this stage is either very difficult, or impossible, given the fulfillment process. We work with an external fulfillment partner that handles our shipments for us, and once final payment is captured (typically 1-2 days after the inital $100 deposit is captured), we auto-communicate the order to them so that they can process it for shipment. Once that order is in their system and the gears of the machine start turning, it's hard to stop. When we receive a change request, the order is likely already been pulled from inventory, put together in a package, weighed, sealed, and labeled. Even if it isn't yet, we have to put in a request to "stop ship" to see if we can halt the entire process, have the order canceled from their system, and verify that everything is scrubbed without errors. Once we verify cancelation, we then have to cancel everything on our side to allow for the process of a refund. Hello all, I been working 1 year as a sea export operations for a freight forwarding company. I am looking to get out of freight forwarding and I am wondering what career path do I have with my experience. My experience include data entry, record/inventory keeping, coordinating/planning freights arriving and leavining, communications with clients, logistic documents. I also have a bachelor agriculture business degree. The aspect I enjoy most is the planning and coordinating part so hopefully there is something I can do that focus on this part. I just do not see a comfortable future in freightforwarding business and I want to take a different path. Thanks.

I wanted to write this as a forewarning to all those who have been scammed prior. I am going to write this as accurate to the situation as possible, and detail my own mistakes in this process.

This first started a few weeks prior; I had built up a haul that I wanted to ship out, but with pricing the way it was, I was struggling pulling the trigger. Then I came across freight forwarding services, which seemed like a cheat code. I could order whatever I want and half the cost of shipping, seemed like an amazing deal. I researched as much as I could on subreddits and a few names were thrown around. I decided to go with Chen because of a prompt response and multiple “people” talking about his service on threads.

I started talking to him and vetting him. Once I asked him about how I could trust him, he became very defensive and very aggressive towards me. I immediately recognized it as a red flag, but after a week, I saw other individuals vouching for him and one individual I PM’ed who vouched for him. This is my first mistake, I should have trusted my gut which gave me very shady vibes of this guy. But I gave him another chance.

I messaged him, got a quote for 108 dollars for approx 9.5kg of stuff. Mistake number 2, I should have attempted a smaller cheaper haul with him prior to giving him my full haul, but again, hindsight is 20/20 and I was trying to get my stuff that had been sitting there. So I got some more info and paid through PayPal, I made sure that I paid with g&s just in case.

A day passes and he says he never got my payment, so we cancel the payment and do it again. He again says he can’t “access the funds.” So this should have been another red flag for me, but I was stupid and just excited to find such cheap shipping, so I followed through with his request for f&f payment on PayPal. He says he got the payment and that my package is now going to HK and that I should receive it in 7-14 days.

Great! I was really excited to finally get my haul, and I messaged him around 2 days later asking if there was any update. It was midday EST so I didn’t expect a response immediately. He must have been sleeping since it was overnight in China. I waited 10 hours and checked in again. Nothing. He had seen the messages.

At this point, I urged a response because I was starting to face reality. Still nothing and now any messages I sent saw only a single check mark on WhatsApp. He either disconnected his WhatsApp or blocked me.

It became clear to me

Step 13: After you have confirmed the address, it will bring you back to the checkout page: make sure everything is correct here. Then click submit orders and it will bring you to the payment page

Step 14: The final step is payment, after clicking Submit Orders, Taobao should bring you to this AliPay Payment Portal where you can enter your credit card. Make sure it is the Overseas version of the portal, so it accepts international credit cards. This is the last step of the process, after entering your payment information and confirming, your order will be completed!

Hey everyone, it's Shane here with the second guide for the sub. This guide will be regarding how to order TaoBao goods to a Freight Forwarder. The requirements to utilize this method are:

• A TaoBao Account
• An international Visa or Mastercard Credit Card
• Google Translate Browser Extension

Step 1: Once you have found the product you wish to buy and have inputted the color and size requirements, click Add to Cart (Make sure you have the Google Translate on automatic translation, so it translates most chinese words to english, makes it much easier!)

Step 2: After clicking add to cart, Taobao will take you to this page. Just click go to cart checkout.

Step 3: After you have been redirected to your cart page, make sure all the product info is correct, and then click settlement to go to the checkout page

Step 4: After clicking settlement, it'll bring you to the checkout page. Here you will need to enter the address of the Freight Forwarder, for this guide I will be using the address of Darren's Zheijiang Warehouse. Just click on use the new address to start adding a new address.

Step 5: Taobao will take you to this page, which is the selection page for the address, this is one of the most difficult steps so pay attention. The Google Translate extension will not translate the province/city/street names so I will translate it. You will need to input the Province, City, Area/Town and Street in these option menus.

Step 6: Find the address of your Freight Forwarder, and copy the Chinese name of the Province. Then go back to Taobao and press Command/Control F to search the page, and paste the name, it should be highlighted on the page.

One day I was just scrolling trough the sub when I encountered a haul post, 3 pairs of jordans -if I remember corectly- and in the title it said 54$ shipping. Everyone was asking op how was shipping cost so low? He replied to everyone saying PM I dont want this to seem like an avertisement. I still have the dm’s between him and I - u/Richy_LLoyd this was the name of the account, deleted now lol -.

He gave me the number to a guy called Chen - +14099953652 - .I quickly got in contact with him, asked him if he ships to my country and asked him how much it would be to ship around 7-8 kilograms. He responded very fast no matter the time. After like 2 weeks of talking and setting things up I sent him the package and 90$ for thr shipping cost.

This is where everything went wrong. After I sent him the money he stopped responding, even tho whatsapp showed me when he was online or last online. After a couple of days of 0 contact from him I get a message: “I could not attend any work related issue -video of a woman in the hospital- My wife has been admitted” “She is going to deliver”, it was a video of a pregnant woman lol. I said congrats and that was about it. Now normally I would have thought yeah i got scammed BUT pretty much around the same time I got sent this video, somebody posted in the sub a screenshot of the same video I got with the caption of chens wife is giving birth or something like that. I have the screenshot of the post - i just have to find it in my phone -. The post is no longer found anywhere, neither is the account that posted it.

After 2 days I texted mr chen, sorry to bother you, but can I get the tracking number for my package? This is where i got blocked, I had gotten scammed. Fucking sucks.

THIS IS WHERE CSSBUY CAME IN CLUTCH, fucking love them I will always recomment them from now on. I contacted them and asked them if they could get the package back, at first they told me it was already shipped. I gave them chens number and they told me to contact him, which i couldnt since i got blocked. This is where i thought i lose everything. like 2 days later i get a notification on cssbuy sayinng the package will arrive soon. How did they manage to do this ? I have no ideea. Package is now in my warehouse, NO item missing.

Is there a sub of like approved members that act as a Freight Forwarding company? But instead of using a company I can use a person and thus only pay the international shipping and not the customs and duties to import? For small personal items?

I can see Freight Forwarder jobs advertised here in Ireland for good money. Has anyone any experience of the job? Would it be difficult to pick it up? I assume there are entry level roles like any job?

Hello Everyone, I’m new here. To start I am 32 year old male living and working in New York. My highest level of education is a 2 year degree is business. I am currently employed as a Logistics Coordinator for a freight forwarding company. I got the job with zero experience and prior training. Salary about 45k.

It’s been great for the last 3 years and I enjoy it. However I want to take my career to the next level. The company I work for is fairly small so there is not much room for growth. Is there a recognized certification or path I can take to increase my value as a prospect for hiring companies ?

Just a quick question is it normal for a ddp price to be almost double the exw price?

I am looking for a sub where people offer their service to send me goods from their country. For example I am looking for a US person who sends me a letter with pepper seeds and I’ll pay for the shipping/package/goods/service.

I am purchasing a large machine from China for use in Detroit, MI. I am unfamiliar with the logistics of international shipping. What steps do I need to take to set up transport all the way from the factory to my driveway?

The seller uses a forwarding company that will get it to a Detroit warehouse they say. And then it would be on me to get it from there to my driveway (30 miles)

What's the most efficient way to go about this? How does this game work?
