As salam 3alaykum, Iโm aware that ghusl janabah and some other obligatory ghusls count as a wuduu provided you have the intention beforehand.
Iโm just wondering if I have a normal shower when not in janabah or any other state of impurity if this counts towards wuduu as well and if so what are the steps. Jazakum Allah kheir.
Abu Saโid al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, โShall I not tell you of that by which Allah expiates your sins and increases your good deeds?โ They said, โOf course, O Messenger of Allah.โ The Prophet said, โThorough ablution despite difficulty, taking many steps to the mosque, and waiting for one prayer after another.โ Source: Sunan Ibn Mฤjah 427 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
As-salaamu alaykum!
No frills: I have struggled to make up my fasts for the last two years.
In 2018, I did not fast for 15 days.
In 2019, I did not miss a single day of fasting; however, I didnโt not make up my missed days from the previous year.
I do not want the issue to snowball into 2020. Please, if anyone can help me, what are the total numbers of fast I have to make-up and how much do I have to pay/give in expiation.
PS: I donโt know if this matters, but just in case it matters I follow Hanafi fiqh.
Jazak Allahi Khayran.
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (๏ทบ) said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."

i came across the word "expiate" today and looked it up. its contemporary meaning neutralizes it and makes it another synonym for "atonement" - but its obsolete meaning is actually quite fascinating.
>late 16th century (in the sense โend (rage, sorrow, etc.) by suffering it to the fullโ): from Latin expiat- โappeased by sacrificeโ
i'm curious if anyone's ever experienced depressive episodes as a form of expiation?
