A list of puns related to "European Integration"
What do you think would it look like if this scenario happens? I think we can enjoy a lot of the benefits of being a EU member, without the downsides (from the Israeli perspective) of open borders, for example). In this scenario Israel will be somewhat similar to Switzerland. They're not part of the EU, but in order to be part of Union's single market they needed to adjust their laws. I think that Israel in many ways has a lot to offer to the EU and the same thing for the EU to Israel.
I know it might be far or even improbable scenario due to various reasons, but I was wondering if it did happen, what would it look like and how would it impact Israel?
When we talk about more european integration (or even big steps on the creation of a federal europe) we essentially mean moving powers from the member states to the EU. The most important powers of a state is foreign policy and security, therefore giving those to Europe would be a crucial move for the future the Union. This was also the basis for the arguments for the abolition of veto powers of Member States in the European Council that is happening r.n..
A country like Cyprus, which has a huge diplomatic and sovereignity problem to deal with, would never consent into such a move. The Cypriot people find it hard to trust their own political leaders to bring them a fair and lasting solution to the Cyprus Problem, so imagine how hard will be to trust some random politician im Brussels. Hell, we even trash talk the EU for not (in any meaningful way) supporting us against Turkey's ambitions in the negotiatiom process. In my opinion, until the Cyprus Problem is resolved, no cypriot politician or citizen will consent to the creation of a Federal Europe. I even doubt they will ever agree into giving up their veto power as a Member State.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Lightwave Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:LWLG), a technology platform company leveraging its proprietary electro-optic polymers to transmit data at higher speeds with less power, today announced that it has received the 2021 Industry Award for Optical Integration from the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) β a premier industry exhibition β held in Bordeaux from September 13-15, 2021.
ECOC created the fiber communication industry awards in six categories to put the spotlight on innovation happening within the industry. The awards recognize and highlight key industry achievements in advancing optical components, photonic integration, optical transport and data center innovation.

In the early days, the US was a big supporter of European integration (e.g. EU), seeing a mass of friendly, culturally connected, democratic states in Europe as necessary for world peace and US interests (President Eisenhower was a huge fan of it as you can re-read here).
So I wonder what your own position on this is? Is the EU a friend, a rival, or an enemy?
Many of you may have worked many months at home due to the Covid pandemic and are still doing it without any perspective to come back to the office.
At least in my group of friends, many of us have strongly considered moving to another EU location if home office becomes the future of work.
However, we have faced the limitations of the current national and EU regulations, being taxes the toughest obstacle.
The lack of a pan-european legal framework regulating home office is preventing that the citizens fully benefit from all the possibilities that working for an EU company from anywhere inside the EU offers.
Do you think it is time to adapt all national work and tax laws to really achieve the free movement of people? I would gladly accept a single work law from Brussels overpowering all national regulations.
I look forward to see your views on this.
