A list of puns related to "Educational Stage"
In Mexico it goes like this:

Year 3: Age 5-6
Escuela Primaria (Elementary School) 6 years long
Year 1: Age 6-7
Year 2: Age 7-8
Year 3: Age 8-9
Year 4: Age 9-10
Year 5: Age 10-11
Year 6: Age 11-12
Escuela Secundaria (Middle School) 3 years long
Year 1: Age 12-13
Year 2: Age 13-14

Escuela Preparatoria/Bachillerato (High School) 3 years long
(divided in 6 semesters)
Year 1: Age 15-16

And then whatever years of university you choose to study
It just seems weird to me since in the 1950s-1980s science fiction was booming, there were all sorts of science educational programs airing, some scientists moved into the limelight, astronauts became heroes, and I have this image of parents wanting their kids to be scientists. So it seems like a strange shift to me since then.
Platform:
PC
Genre:
Education and Kids Activity
Estimated Year of Release:
1998-2004
Graphics/Art Style:
2D - Cartoony 2D Animation
Notable Characters:
Cartoon Animals and Human Kids (Both a Boy and Girl)
Notable Gameplay Mechanics:
Multiple different activities and games to play. Possibly split into multiple CD's
The minigame/activity in question was a little studio with a classical looking stage (Wooden Floors, Red Curtains etc) where you could animate different characters by dragging them into a scene, and selecting what they would do (walk stage left, walk stage right etc)
You could also sound mix on a timeline to make them say different sentences, basically chopping up sound clips.
It is possible it is one of the Jumpstart Games - However I've not been able to locate it in any of the many playthroughs on youtube of those games
We had this game installed in our school PCs, it is an educational game with several games of which I can't recall except one, where there will be 2 pirate ships in combat shooting cannons at each other.
I think there are trivia of the world too, and the graphics are better than Windows 95 era pixel art. (They run on Windows 98). It is definitely not Math Blaster.
I don't expect to find it but just trying my luck haha.
Genuinely curious as to what videos / opinion pieces / films / movies / podcasts / books have been most impactful in describing why late stage capitalism is THE MOST profound issue of our current time.
I am currently reading Eating Animals, which describes the horrid and negligent ways we as humans are excavating resources at an alarming rate and imprisoning other forms of life to quench our appetites for literally just taste stimuli...
Iβm more interested in a short approach to convincing others... like, is there a YouTube video for YOU that has stood out as an impactful, convincing, and captivating argument?
Thank you!
Hi everyone,
The title sums it up for the most part. I am looking for someone to provide immediate, fast turnaround, in depth editing services and continue working with me over multiple revisions (as necessary). I understand market rates and am willing to offer competitive compensation. I have a few projects I need edited that are in various stages of completion (e.g., ranging from "thoughts on paper" to "I have edited this umpteen million times") and need someone who can help me pull everything together to a standardized level of quality. I am looking for someone who can also read my stylistic inspiration and help edit against my stylistic goals (I will compensate for time spent reading stylistic inspiration in preparation for editing).
If you are interested, please DM me your email and a brief overview of qualifications and capacity for work and if it looks like a good fit I will send you an email to discuss further to see if there is mutual interest. Thanks very much everyone.
Colin
My sister and I both went to the same elementary school in different years (her in the late 90s, me in the early 2000s) and remember this series of videos. Basically - this girl (white, long blonde hair I think?) has to write a play or study lines for a play, but sheβs nervous and takes a nap to relax. In her dream, she encounters a talking bear (a guy in a suit), a knight, and they have to face some kind of villain, maybe? It had βpartsβ so theyβd put the VHS in and itβd be a black screen with white text that showed what part or episode you were on. Neither of us can remember anything beyond this or the end. We watched it for what felt like all year several years in a row and it never felt like it reached a conclusion - but weβre probably wrong about it. It looks like it couldβve been made in the 80s or early 90s.
Hey /r/sydney, on the off chance anyone remembers this post I made a couple of weeks ago, I figured I'd swing by with an update. OP (eventually) delivers and all that.
After numerous false starts - folks who expressed interest then changed their minds, or just didn't respond after saying they'd do it, etc., I didn't have high hopes that this little ploy would eventuate. However, late on the day-of, I sent one last-ditch response to some dude called /u/JackEatsSharks, and, fingers crossed, it seemed like a go.
When he confirmed that he was genuinely interested in a spot of casual weeknight subterfuge I briefed him with the deets of the event and sent him through my invite. And just like that, /u/JackEatsSharks became /u/-anal- for an evening. No homo.
Whilst at work, I was corresponding with him via Reddit, waiting for what I thought was the inevitable "nah sorry dude, I'm bailing", but it never came. He did seem to be genuine, but I wasn't certain I wasn't just being taken for a ride by some bored Redditor.
All doubt was assuaged when this message came through from a mysterious phone number. The man, the legend, /u/JackEatsSharks. Er, I mean, me. Definitely me.
He fuckin did it! What a guy.
Weird subplot, it got really uncanny at that point because I thought I was corresponding with a perfect stranger, but... I actually know the guy. He's a regular at the bottleshop I work at and we've chatted a bit. I tried to work out how and why he might've conducted this elaborate prank-within-a-prank on the dude from the local bottleshop having somehow known it was me the whole time, but there was just no way. Neither of us had any idea we were talking to one another until we exchanged photos at this stage in the plot - just a weird, small world thing. Surreal!
I don't know much about how the event went down except that there were definitely people skeptical of his claiming to be me, but not enough that he didn't get in, and not enough that he wasn't able to collect my certificate. I received a message the following day from an old classmate informing me that "some random guy collected your certificate" and asked me if I knew anything about it. I fessed up and she told me that supposedly one of the head teachers had been quite flustered about it and was muttering about wanting to ask for ID. It would indeed appear that they fully piece
... keep reading on reddit β‘EDIT: UPDATE OP delivers
I won't go into details here but it's for a qualification at a not-too-significant educational institution that I completed last year. I forgot about the presentation evening so didn't take time off work for it.
They're disorganised enough that this could probably be pulled off. Case in point: I just received an email that for some reason, despite having finished this qualification a year ago, they "haven't been able to secure my official certificate so I will be presented with a substitute certificate on the night". That's what would make this so funny actually, having a substitute "me" collect said "substitute certificate".
This isn't a favour for me as obviously I already have the qualification and this event is just a superficial formality, I don't expect you to deliver the certificate to me or anything, etc. I just find the idea incredibly amusing and figured before telling them I won't make it that there might be weirdos like me who would find it fun with nothing better to do tomorrow night that might be up for it.
You can bring up to two guests. There will very likely be free booze.
Hit me up if you're keen.
EDIT: This is definitely for real, offer still open. C'mon guys, live a little
EDIT: I've PMed everyone who's expressed interest, still waiting on a goer.
