A list of puns related to "Dolby Atmos"
Hey! I'm new to the whole audio world, and just bought myself the beam g2 soundbar, 2x sonos one's and a subwoofer to create a little home cinema of some sort. I'm very confused about eARC vs ARC. My TV natively supports Dolby Atmos. Do I need an eARC port to get Atmos through my system, or is the usual ARC already enough for Netflix, since I think I read somewhere that Netflix uses DD+, for which ARC should be good I believe..? Thanks for any help!!
I tend to listen with earphones with maximum of 50% volume, recently only get to experience Dolby Atmos but immediately notice on the same volume settings all the songs sound a bit softer, I need to crank up to about 70% to achieve the same volume I used to listen to
Does anyone need to turn up their volume too?
At at about 24:35 in Lost in Space S2:E2. There is a first thunder, pretty low, and then about 5 sec later a second one, much louder, really banging and I could swear it came from my ceiling on my left side. The combination with the rear speaker was amazing too.

Update 2
Okay, there's miles and miles of misinformation flying around in this thread, lets clarify a few things!
These are digital signal processor drivers, designed to work with stereo headphones. The source audio can be stereo or multi channel encoded. The game does NOT need to be encoded for regular Dolby Atmos or DTS format to gain benefit from this, it only enhances the effect. Looking up a list of Dolby Atmos supported games isn't required in the slightest, stop spreading that misinformation.
Your headphones can be connected any way you choose - either by plugging in the controller directly, or by tapping into the HDMI audio out through a connected device such as your TV or sound system. It's best to turn off any other signal processing features, such as "Surround" mode built into some headphones with a button toggle. Here's a screenshot of the audio settings on the Series X showing the output settings
Both Dolby and DTS come with apps for Xbox and Windows that allow you to fine tune the audio profile and equalizer. Here is a gallery of screenshots I took from my Series X using the XCloud streaming: https://imgur.com/a/SbVV6zd
It is NOT a subscription, it is a one time license fee for a real time digital signal processor driver that lasts over many devices. The drivers are for both Xbox and Windows, and have exactly the same applications available for each from their respected stores.
My recommended best value headphones that many many other review sites have praised for years are the HyperX Cloud II's. They are on sale right now for $60 USD: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/search/shop/devices?q=HyperX . In the past, the cheaper HyperX CloudX use to be exactly the same headphones with just some accessory differences and a cable with inline controls, this is NO longer the case. They use slightly smaller drivers now and are no longer as good as the Cloud II's - be careful of outdated reviews.
I invested in a Sonos arc, sub and ones for Christmas.
Just been listening to the weekends new album βDawn FMβ on Apple TV in Dolby atmos. If you wanted something to show off the system, this album is definitely a good choice!
Atmos is great!
I read different opinions about the best in-game audio setting, when you use Dolby Atmos for Headphones with a wireless headset.
Sometimes I read posts where they advice to set in-game audio to Stereo and Headphones.
Other posts say that you have to choose Surround Sound with Speakers.
So, to get this out of the way.. what's the best setting if the game gives you several options when you use Dolby Atmos or DTS:X for Headphones?
For instance, in Battlefield V .. you have several options in-game.
Sound preset: Speakers / TV / Headphones / 3D Headphones
Output Configuration: Stereo / Surround / Auto
In this Reddit post, it says the optimal setting is:
Xbox processing - Dolby Atmos (in my opinion the best setup)
To achieve this setup:
Xbox settings menu
In-game settings menu
But on other websites they say you have to choose Surround Sound in-game, otherwise the Dolby Atmos / DTS:X won't work.
Who has the definitive answer?
A comparison of Taylor Swift's album RED (Taylorβs Version) in various formats including Vinyl (4 LP 45 rpm), Qobuz Hi-Res (24/96) and Tidal Master (24/96) streaming versions, and the Amazon Dolby Atmos binaural version for headphone listening.
The Vinyl and Dolby Atmos version that are the most dynamic and give a more natural rendering.

Hi everyone,
Essentially this post is asking, which setup would you choose out of:
HDR with (lossy) Dolby Atmos OR Dolby Vision with Dolby Digital 5.1
through a Sonos home theatre system.
Longer explanation: I just purchased a full Sonos setup with Arc, sub and 2 rears. But because of my TV (Sony x900f) I can only get lossy Dolby Atmos or Dolby Digital.
So I have both a Nvidia Shield (2017) and Apple TV 4K and one supports Lossy Atmos with HDR and the other supports Dolby Vision with Dolby Digital only, so which one would you choose between the two for streaming movies off Netflix/Prime and downloaded movies off my Plex server?
When checking control centre while using Disney plus, I get multichannel audio.
However, when using Netflix or AppleTV or PrimeVideo, control centre shows Dolby Atmos.
Hey I'm looking at the Samsung HW-A550 for $177 and the HW-Q600A for $477. I think I want Atmos and a center channel but at 300 dollars difference I'm finding it hard to bite the bullet. Is the HW-q600a really 2.5 times better?
Does anyone have a TV that has no sound delay when passing through Dolby Atmos content from their Xbox Series X to their Beam Gen 2 or Arc? I keep reading stories on the audio delay for various models so Iβm trying to find one or two (preferably more budget friendly) models that wouldnβt have any delay.
Thank you very much for your help!
I am sure that this is a total whoosh moment, and won't be news to anyone but me.
I have been considering buying a $$ Dolby Blu-ray full of Atmos demos off of eBay. Was looking for something else, and clicked on the Dolby app, only to find many of the demos streaming on there for free.
Doesn't look like it has all of the demos, but it has the best ones, along with a bunch of movie clips, in Atmos.
If you have the gear to take advantage of it, go check it out. Pretty amazing.
Hi Folks,
I have a movie listed as Dolby atmos 4K and HDR on my computer. I had some questions about how to watch this on TV. I understood that I need Hdmi 2.0 to send this quality data, but I couldn't get an answer about what settings I should make to send this type of content from the computer. Currently, I have VLC and PotPlayer on my computer, at the same time I installed this Dolby Audio application from Microsoft Store and enabled it for TV. But I'm not sure if I can still send HDR and Dolby Atmos to my TV. I would be glad if you help me.
Hi, Iβve recently bought an LG SL8YG soundbar for my CX, and I just wanted to know how to make sure that Dolby Atmos is working. I use Disney plus and when using tv speakers it displays Dolby Vision/Atmos. However when using the soundbar it only display vision.
Is that just how it is or should it be saying both? It says Dolby Atmos on the soundbar but I just wanted to make sure. Furthermore, I donβt have the sub plugged in atm, and lastly what is dolby digital plus, and does the SL8YG support it?
Many thanks in advance.
I just got a beam Gen 2 and the one sl surrounds. I use an LG C1 tv and I use the native apps like Netflix, hbo max, Apple TV app etc.
Will I get Dolby atmos from the native LG apps or do I need to buy an Apple TV 4K?
I also have an Xbox series x and PlayStation 5 hooked up to the tv. Would either of those support atmos?
Or is there some type of processing that causes the delay to be unavoidable (not able to be fixed)?
The delay is fairly subtle. But It's significantly noticeable with gun shots. The time between pulling the trigger and audio (pew! pew!) is very noticable from Dolby Atmos vs Uncompressed 5.1 (no delay).
Not sure when, but I just realized today that all of Jermaineβs Albums are available in Dolby Atmos (on Apple Music) which brings the Spatial Audio.
Had to re-download my library, works like charm.
Looking for an all in one, possibly expandable, soundbar solution with EARC and Dolby Atmos to pair with my LG C1.
Iβve seemingly narrowed it down to (in no particular order):
Tucked by Katy Perry has a guitar at the very start of the song which is very noticeable when listening to the song normally. But in Dolby Atmos, itβs gone.
Is this normal Atmos behaviour? I thought Dolby Atmos was the widen the experience, not get rid of instruments completely.
I have an Atmos compatible AVR and source, but only 5.1 speakers. Streaming Disney+ from Nvidia Shield 2019 gives DD+ only, no Atmos. Seems be to be a known bug or limitation for this combination of app and device. Am I missing out on something due to this limitation, or would Atmos only benefit me if I had additional vertical speakers?
I know Atmos is a 3D positional system and can be used with different lossy and lossless codecs, but I haven't been able to find out whether Atmos can provide better audio quality in addition to the positional stuff.
Hey guys,
I just picked up the LG C1 77 inch yesterday, and, I plugged my Vizio Elevate into it, seems to be working great, but.. I can't quite tell for sure if Dolby Atmos is working or not? The audio settings in the C1 just list it as Arc? Is this normal? I have the earc option turned on and I'm getting surround sound and all of that. I just notice that the C1 will tell me at the top right when Dolby Vision is on, but I never see anything for Dolby Atmos, so, I'm not quite sure if it's on but it just doesn't tell you or if there's some bug going on.
Thanks!
Is there any way to listen do Apple music with atmos on a soundbar without the Apple tv 4k?
Hi there,
I just wanted to share how amazing I found the overhead effects in the first episode of the second season of the Witcher on Netflix.
I think this is my new go to reference when I want to show someone the benefits of overhead speakers.
I have an Elac Debut 2.0 setup with 5.2.2 if anyone cares.
Cheers!
Since the holidays are coming I need some help how can I properly stream 4k, Dolby atmos movies from Movies Anywhere or the other various streaming services...basically asking which is the best equipment to get?
