A list of puns related to "Dolby Cinema"
Hello fellow 4K enthusiasts!
The Godfather is one of my favorite films of all time. Iβve seen it more times than I can count. I was ecstatic hearing about the 4K Blu-ray release this March. Iβm sure some of you are just excited!
This is just a heads up that The Godfather 4K restoration will also be screened exclusively in some Dolby Cinemas in the US, along with some international territories in February!
The announcement states screenings will begin February 25th, but my area only had one screening for the 24th available. This may be worth checking out as Dolby Cinemas are known for their incredible image quality (Dolby Vision and four times the resolution of standard cinemas) and awesome audio (Dolby Atmos with 64 audio channels).
Albeit, I donβt expect the sound to be mind-blowing as The Godfather is more of a dialogue based film with no Atmos. The film will retain its use of the 2007 5.1 audio track, although the mono track for Part I and Part II will be restored.
Other fun facts about the 4K theatrical and 4K Blu-ray release:
RESTORATION DETAILS
Over 300 cartons of film were scrutinized to find the best possible resolution for every frame of all three films.
Over 4,000 hours were spent repairing film stains, tears, and other anomalies in the negatives.
Over 1,000 hours were spent on rigorous color correction to ensure the high dynamic range tools were respectful of the original vision of Coppola and cinematographer Gordon Willis.
In addition to the 5.1 audio approved by Walter Murch in 2007, the original mono tracks on he Godfather and The Godfather: Part II have been restored.
All work was overseen by Coppola.
Canβt wait for this release! Hope to see some of you at the cinema! And I know Iβll definitely be seeing everyone with their 4K copies in March. ππ»

This movie is such an amazing treat for anyone, no matter how old you are. And with it going to Dolby, it is a must for anyone to see. I personally saw the Early Screening in November with a friend and it didn't have much effect on me except it being a solid movie but when I went to the Dolby format, I WAS FLOORED.
With the amazing seat technology inside of the theater, you'll feel the bass of each performance in the movie and the songs that are displayed in the movie that is sang by the cast and other artists. With the sound surrounding you, you'll feel as if you're actually in the audience of that movie. For the best experience, you should sit in the lower half so you can be engulfed by the movie, surrounding Bono's new character, the loner rockstar Clay Calloway.
You'll cry & laugh during the movie and feel anew once you leave the theater. Personally, when I saw it in Dolby, the emotions just came over me so hopefully you'll feel the same. I give this movie a 5/5, just because of how entertaining and fun it is, no matter if you watch the first movie or not.
Gonna go watch Spiderman No Way Home and saw alot of good ratings with Dolby Cinema. I saw Endgame in IMAX on release day but didnt see a big deal over it so wanna hear any feedback here if Dolby Cinema is a huge difference from Standard or I wont really be missing out much just better image and sound quality
Got into movies and audio big during COVID (couldnβt go out so did my own home theater)
Long story short I frequent the Chantilly, VA Airbus IMAX a lot after itβs reopened. I heard Dolby Cinema is decent so I went to rewatch spider man at the AMC in Columbia, MD due to being closer.
I saw all the speakers around the wall and was super excited this was going to sound amazing. But it didnβt. It was super bland. Not impressed at all. Am I tripping or am I just use to watching Real Imax screens and sound? If that makes sense.
A month ago, I watched Ghostbusters Afterlife at the Dolby auditorium. I felt like it was way too loud. Obviously watching a movie in a theater will be louder than watching on a laptop or a TV, but I literally felt like my ears were about to blow at certain times. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Just got home from watching Spiderman NWH and the AMC Dolby Cinema was really good but man. Fuck those teenagers that kept trying to be funny when the thing everyone is waiting for happened. Movie would have been 100% perfect but is like some people has no respect. Otherwise awesome experience I'll definitely be going there more often. I'll just make sure is not winter break next time or summer to avoid a group of teens as much is possible.
Both are great with their own perks. While NWH was shot in IMAX cameras and the huge screen and Laser is to DIE FOR, the Dolby Vision & Atmos plus the moving seats are absolutely a plus to really be immersed into the movie.
Greetings my Danish friends!
I've been living in Denmark for about 1.5 years and prior to the pandemic I lived in a county with Dolby Cinema. I work in video production ... so I may be a fidelity snob. Just hoping to have a good theater experience again. The Dolby Cinema laser projection has spoiled me ... their inky blacks are much like OLED TVs where you can have complete darkness even with the projector still on. Plus the audio set up in their theaters is next level. Since then, standard theaters and IMAX just doesn't compare. About a month ago I went to a movie theater for the first time since the pandemic started β went to an IMAX and was pretty disappointed by the visual quality.
Has anyone here heard of a similar projection quality? It doesn't need to be Dolby at all but more so that level of image quality and richness of sound. In the past, I have seen these theaters as just sections of other theaters with only 1-2 screens per location. Any information would be helpful. Ilive near Fredericia but often visit Odense, Vejle, and Kolding.
Sorry this isn't in Danish. My Danish isn't quite good enough to describe visual detail and terms.
EDIT:
Sorry just finally finished meal prepping for the week for my spouse and I. Sadly I'm not in the Copenhagen area, I'm in the Frederica area. Has anyone heard of something like Imperial but on Fyn or the neighboring Jutland region.
Those of you who have been to Cinescape. Does VIP have audio and picture quality as good as Dolby Cinema? I havenβt been to VIP so Iβm not sure, please help me out.
My home theater has seats thats are positioned flat and all seats are on same level slight slanted when u go more down. Since the seats i am going to sit at are stadium style seats
I know it'll first be on IMAX while Spider-Man No Way Home is on Dolby Cinema.
I saw DUNE at both theaters and here are my thoughts.
IMAX sound system seems unbalanced. Too loud. The seats were nice pleather though. But the rows didnβt curve to the screen so it wasnβt comfortable if not seated dead center.
DOLBY CINEMA has curved rows. So a seat at the end of the row can still be watched without twisting the neck. And of course pleather reclining seats. Also the rows are wider so you wonβt touch other legs as you walk past them.
The screen quality just seems brighter and darker (contrasting) on DC over IMAX. And if seated with lower rows, the ratio is similar to IMAX.
Which one do you guys think I should go for in this case? I've personally only seen "LieMAX" and wasn't impressed, and have never seen Dolby Cinema.
Gimli bursts into room
"AND IMAX!"
I've been meaning to post an update on my bad experiences at the AMC Mission Valley 20 in San Diego.
Original post:
I complained MANY times to the management, to the AMC corporate email, to the AMC Twitter and Facebook accounts, and directly to Dolby and IMAX themselves. I also have a friend in LA who is a studio projectionist and he passed along my gripes directly to his Dolby contact.
Whoever listened (it doesn't matter) must have got the word to where it needed to go and ever since the end of October, the Dolby Cinema auditorium has been running off of two projectors. I've been there about 5-6 time since then and every show was great.
I cannot speak for the IMAX screen since I've stopped seeing IMAX in that theater altogether. I only go to IMAX Laser screens now (why I'm driving 100 miles to Irvine to see Matrix Resurrection at the Spectrum).
If there are any employees or contacts with the Mission Valley location, I wanted to thank you for finally getting your act together.
Iβve only went to one theater and watch last night in soho which I think was definitely the best choice I couldβve made, I was extremely impressed but wanted to know if different locations would be worth the travel to go see atleast 1 or 2 movies Iβm really looking forward to see, also if they are different from theater to theater which is the best one youβve personally gone to?
Hey everyone I was lucky enough to get 3 tickets to Spider Man No Way Home @Dolby, Lincoln square. I usually try to get tickets on the 4th or 5th rows and try to aim closer to the center. I'm taking my younger siblings as i really wanted to surprise them. This is my first time at Lincoln square and I wanted opinions on the seats I got. When it comes to the viewing angle or position. I know certain people just avoid the front. I think I'll be fine wirh it but I wanted peoples take on it and personal preference. Image of my sear selections below. Thank you!

And if nothing in chicago whatβs the closest in the burbs ? We are coming from Pilsen.
Anyone have opinions on the best theater in the area to see Dune? Afaik, there are three aspect ratios it is shown in: 2.35, 1.9, and 1.43. The only place closer than NYC showing 1.43 ratio is the Museum of Science Dome, but that distorts the picture and generally does not have great reviews. Therefore, I'm trying to decide the best place to see it in 1.9 aspect ratio. Does anyone know specifics about Assembly Row and Boston Common? How do their IMAX screens compare, and how does IMAX compare to Dolby Cinema?
Just watched Ghostbusters Afterlife on Sunday, and happy to say that the sound was rockin, and the rumble seats were in full effect.
I'm not sure if it's just a Disney/Marvel thing, but I watched both Eternals and Shang-Chi in Dolby Cinema theaters, and the bass was pretty lacking. I was concerned it might have been my specific theater, but I think the mixing just might be off.
Anyone experience the same?
Hey guys, I had the chance to catch the early access screening of the movie in Dolby format. Definitely watch this in theaters. Edgar Wright is on top of his game with this movie, touching psychological horror. The casting choices were very good.
If you've seen the trailer, the use of vibrant bright colors and 60s aesthetics are very pleasing to the eye.
The story revolves around Ellioise (Thomasin Mckenzie) a fashion student (obsessed with the swinging 60s) who has the ability to go into 1960s London when she goes to sleep. What starts off as glitz and glamour is turned into a dark nightmare that soon sees our main character in more danger than she could have imagined.
I absolutely loved the look of the 1960s, even seeing the sign of the James Bond film "Thunderball", the clubs and even the music and dancing really brings you in. I rarely looked away from the screen while watching the film. LOL, also switching between past and present seeing Elloise start to mimic her dream counterpart Sandie (Anya Taylor Joy) is really cool.
Huge shoutout to both Thomasin Mckenzie and Anya Taylor Joy.
Thomasin Mckenzie's character was absolutely great, her facial expressions of pure horror and being broken at times were good. She was on my radar since I saw her earlier this year in M Night's "Old".
Anya Taylor-Joy was breathtaking as a 60s character looking to make her stamp as a singer. She has a certain glow to her. Her performance of Downtown omg.
The 3rd act of the film is pretty weak compared to the first two acts. But this is when the psychological horror starts to kick in and leave you on the edge of your seat questioning what is really black and white.
Let's talk about it, what format did you guys watch it in? What were your favorite parts you liked and disliked? and would you recommend this film to others? Would you watch it again?
Rating 4/5 for me.
In my opinion, this was one of the best films of the year for me and I will personally be getting a copy on blu-ray. Also perfect ad placement for Beats headphones in this movie lmao
Has anyone else noticed issues at the Burbank 16 Dolby Cinema (Auditorium 14) recently? I was there for Encanto yesterday at 3:45 and the screen was having issues and they had to stop and restart the movie and fast forward back. I'm back for Encanto again (I'm a fan) at 6:30 and currently the screen is not working (but there's sound.) I'll head out and let them know if the screen doesn't start working by the time the welcome videos / previews / Nicole Kidman AMC commercials start
Sony TVs such as the A80J have sound modes Cinema and Dolby Audio. What is the difference between these modes? Are there any advantages of one over the other or use cases where one works better than the other?
Does anyone have any input? I can't decide which format to see it in
