Was the ghost in S6 E13 actually Darth Bane?

I ask this because I thought the Sith didn’t become one with the force when they died, so they couldn’t come back as ghosts?

If so, how did Bane appear to Yoda on Moraband? I know there were illusions placed by Sidious, but this encounter seems to happen before he is aware of Yoda being on the planet and goes full β€œhocus-pocus” on him with Dooku.

I may be wrong, but wookipedia seems to also call this a β€œspecter” instead of an illusion like the snake wraiths beforehand. Any ideas?

Darth Bane, The Rule of Two, and The Dyad

In The Clone Wars, Bane said the Sith killed each other because of their own greed, and he accordingly survived and chose to pass on his knowledge to only one.

Now new Canon accordingly says that Bane was inspired by the natural power of a Force Dyad, an unseen bond for generations, possibly, probably his own generation.

Was this rationale, from the original Legends material, at odds with the idea of a Dyad, a Natural Inspiration for the Rule of Two, or does it harmonize? How could you reconcile these things?

I’m reading the Darth Bane trilogy and kinda found book 2 a bit less enjoyable. It seems Bane and Zannah’s success isn’t due to them being intelligent or using the force creatively but shear luck or their opponents not having common sense more than in Book 1.Does that get worse in Book 3?

I'm currently reading *Darth Bane: Path of Destruction*, and I'm having a hard time understanding why it's so beloved.

I'm about halfway through the first book, and I'm having a hard time finding things to enjoy about it. The writing is very "tell-not-show" and comes across as amateur and somewhat juvenile. Darth Bane himself feels like he was written by an edgy 16 year old, and comes across as something of a Mary Sue. The book at least is easy, so it won't take me very long to finish, but I'm surprised. This is supposed to be the best novel of the trilogy and yet, in my opinion, it's shockingly poorly written.

Why did Darth Bane care enough about destroying the Jedi to create the Rule of Two?

The Darth Bane books are great, but I feel like I dont quite understand why Bane ended up doing what he did. Why did he hate the Jedi so much that he actually enacted the Rule of Two? Why go further than "huh, the Darth idea seems like it would be cool." Why was he so ambitious? It seems like he was just doing things for the sake of doing them, without a real personal motivation behind any of it.

How could Mace Windu and Yoda know about Darth Bane and the Rule of Two if the Sith were seemingly gone for a millennia?

In Legends I think the fact the Sith were gone/hiding for a thousand years was pretty much ignored and we got some Sith between Darth Bane fighting the Jedi, so they knew they followed the Rule of Two

However, excluding all that Legends, how in Canon Mace Windu and Yoda knew of the Rule of Two at the end of The Phantom Menace? "Always two there are, a master and an apprentice" Yoda says.

However, how could Yoda know this when the Jedi had no idea who Darth Bane was and they thought the Sith were extinct? TPM's ending thus imply that (maybe originally?) the Rule of Two was always a Sith thing that they knew about during their many conflicts, not a rule the last living Sith created because they had no idea the Sith weren't extinct

I know Yoda meets the Force ghost of Darth Bane during TCW, but even then, he spoke already knowing who Darth Bane and the Rule of Two were

Also, Darth Revan and I think Darth Nihilus would also appear in TCW as Force ghosts. How the hell would that even have been reconciled with Legends and Canon, specially because that scene made the Son, who is essentially a God, appear to be a lesser being to the deceased Sith Lords

What do you guys think about a show or/movie on Darth Bane

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... (spoilers!)

The title says it all.

What are your opinions on either a live-action movie or television show with Star Wars character Darth Bane?

I'll start. A possible movie,

The biggest issue with me for a movie is not enough time to flesh out Dessel as a person. There are plenty of scenes throughout the book that are needed to show his journey on Apatros. The reason being is that Dessel is part of Bane, but knowing how a movie would go 2 hours isn't enough to flesh out his character. We've seen it time, and time again... Characters' pasts aren't fully fleshed out leaving a majority of questions unanswered.

So then, television show it is???!

While I think a TV show would be excellent in fleshing a character out, the right actors and cinematography are essential to immersing the viewer in the amazing world of STAR WARS! This is why I've come here to suggest a few actors we as viewers could imagine playing Dessel/Darth Bane. Firstly he is noted to be around 2 meters so when doing math 2 meters, 78.74 inches, or over 6 foot six inches. Not a lot of mainstream actors are that height, right? Well... here are a few names to suggest.

  • Pablo Schreiber: Now when you look at Pablo I understand what your thinking "Man this guy is nuts if he thinks Pablo could play Darth Bane!", actually the contrary. With maybe a lot of knowledge of the character, Pablo Schreiber could immerse himself into the role of Dessel. He's played in movies such as 'Den of Thieves, and '13 Hours', which all appeared to be in a good state. With maybe a lot of working out to give us the broad-shouldered and muscular hulk' like appearance, he could pull it off.

  • Mark Strong: Nothing to say about him. Very good actor lacking in the height aspect short about 4 inches. He is cold, intelligent, cunning, without remorse/mercy. Some of his major roles have played these aspects of Darth Bane.

Just finished the Darth Bane Trilogy. Question about the ending:

Spoilersβ€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€’

Who else thinks that Bane might have survived the essence transfer and is simply posing as Zannah? Only problem is If this were the case, bane would have had to fail at the essence transfer at some point down the road. Because Plagiues and Palpatine are clearly not Bane.

Also, is there a conclusion to Set’s story somewhere?

We need a Darth Bane Movie

I’m listening to the audiobook version of The Rule of Two and for some reason the duel at the end of the book is taken to a whole new level of awesome by the audiobook. I started thinking that we need a canon Darth Bane movie but to see that duel between 2 Sith and 5 Jedi in a live action or animated movie would be amazing! It would be like nothing that we have seen for the big screen before.
