Could Bob Chapek be a liability for The Walt Disney Company ($DIS) as long he is CEO?

The first thing we need to know about Bob is that he came to Disney to the home video division in the mid-90's during the direct-to-video sequels craze, which let us know how he take decisions. Then he was in Consumer Product (I.E. merchandising) and then the parks in a tenure symbolized by hiking the prices while being cheap on the experience. (the NBA Experience replacing Disney Quest shows it)

Now as a CEO he has been very "controversial". What happened to the parks have only worsen now. And the pushing films to Disney+ have not been meat good by people inside the company like Marvel and Pixar. And there are overall "bad taste" decision made under the start of his tenure while can't be blamed on him from what we know like the cancelation of The Owl House and giving Quantum Dream a Star Wars game. So overall its feel like the Disney empire is sinking under his term.

I wander how long until he will be kicked and who will replace him. He is worst then Eisner in the 2000's and the buffoons that had to be replaced by Eisner.

If the Walt Disney company ask you how to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the brand (at least on the big screen) how would you do it?

First I'm talking about only films under the Disney brand, as in live-action with the logo, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar. No Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures (unless they want to remind us the enabled Weinstein)

Considering that Disney love to corporate masturbation (but don't like sex) it would be fitting for the company and the brand, and they already reveled a logo for "100 years of wonder". And Disney might want their 2023 line-up (with a spill over to late 2022 and early 2024) to be a celebration of that. Though I worry they will blow it up like with Bob Chapek still running things. (same of Jim Ryan with PlayStation/Sony Interactive Entrainment)

  • First we will focused on what is already planed with The Little Mermaid live action (thirst) remake in may, it perfect for that year as it started the Disney Renaissance as well I have a feeling that Disney might have learned from past war crimes for this remake. (There are two another live-action!Disney in March and August as well a Pixar spot in June and a WDAS spot in November.)
  • It could be might be a good idea to push some films meant straight for Disney+ to the big screen (for at least 2 weeks limited engagement). Disney could cash in 90's nostalgia with Hocus Pocus 2 (if they will do the celebrations early with D23 2022). There is also a live action remake of Peter Pan from David Lowery, the director of The Green Knight, so Disney may want to get back from cinephiles. And there is Disenchanted, and a sequels for Enchanted might could make money as part of Disney meta-masterplan.
  • Haunted Mansion is already filming so a 2023 release could be feasible to be the parks part of the celebrations.
  • I wander in what point National Treasure 3 is in and they might do some throwback in the line-up for the anniversary. The 2000's was the best time for live-action Disney after all so they might capitalize on that.
  • In term of the logos we might see Disney debuting a graphics over hall for the castle for the logo like Paramount and Universal did for their anniversary. and maybe a new "When you wish upon a star" rendition. Or they could do throwback logos, which could fit Pixar if they bring back for a one time do the basic 3D castle they did.
  • Cranking out a biopic for 2023 could be a possibility. Maybe a sport biopic like the o

...and do I need to mention Star Wars??

There are so many other stupid moves they’ve made recently...too many to list here.

They are not too big to fail if they keep going down this stupid road they are on...

Solid beats for The Walt Disney Company. Even the analyst targeted D+ subscriber count came out great. It seems they are very well headed towards that 230 million to 260 million subscribers by 2024.

An Open Letter To Walt Disney Company On The State Of Physical Media.

November 15, 2021
Carl Mulder
HD MOVIE SOURCE

Dear Walt Disney Company,

I grew up watching Disney movies, it's something that is a part of me and my upbringing. Disney movies hold a special place in my heart and always will. I am writing you today to urge a change in the way that you release movies on Physical Media. I cannot speak for everybody else, however, I feel as though you show a lack of effort in your approach to Physical Media. Current 4K Ultra HD (Disc) releases are half-hearted tokens that say, hi, we still see you, but that's it. Even standard Blu-ray releases are treated as "second class", which don't even have Dolby Atmos soundtracks. Like many others I'm sure, feel pained by this lack of effort. I am not ignorant of the cost of business. Disney+ is now your baby, and Physical Media simply can't pull in the same money that your streaming service can. But, collecting your movies "Physically" is special to me and many others. I want to buy a "full product", and right now on Blu-ray and 4K (Disc) formats we are simply not getting that. I will explain.

Here's a quick list of the improvements that I would like to see happen on Physical Media for Blu-ray and 4K (Disc) going forward. These are not demands, however, I would like for you to consider them.

Technical Additions & Versions

  • When movies are shot in IMAX, please include the FULL IMAX version on 4K (Disc) & Blu-ray.
  • When movies are shot in Dolby Vision, please include the Dolby Vision version on 4K (Disc).
  • When movies are shot with Dolby Atmos audio, please include the Dolby Atmos version on 4K (Disc) & Blu-ray.

Technical Improvements List

  • Please consider using 100 GB discs on the 4K UHD (Disc) format.
  • If the use of 100 GB discs is not possible, please consider using the 66 GB 4K Ultra HD Disc for the movie only, with no extras.
  • Please consider using a 25 GB Blu-ray disc for all the extras.
  • Please consider using a minimum average bit-rate of 84.5 Mbps on all 4K Ultra HD (Discs).
  • The current quality of 45 Mbps, in my opinion, is unacceptable. For a great company like Disney and when compared to what others are doing right now, it's flat out not good enough.

My Final Thoughts.

Hey, I love Disney, I love your movies, but I want options. I love to collect these movies at home and touch them Physically. Sure, streaming is great, it's instantaneous. That shouldn't be the only way to enjoy your great movies at their best. I think that showing
