A list of puns related to "Conrad Hilton"
I hated his character he kicks Don around like a football or a cat playing with a mouse before it kills it. I canβt be alone in thinking he was some kind of sadist. I know barely anything about the real Conrad but Iβm interested to know everyoneβs view of him. Maybe you change my mind?
Anybody know if the whole Conrad Hilton portion was based on actual occurrences of Hilton with advertising agencies ? I wouldn't be surprised it was, assuming he was as much of a self-absorbed prick in real life as he was in the show.
Iβm just wondering if famous people from the 60βs ever appeared in backgrounds or even on screen and I just didnβt know their name. The only real world person I can think of is Hilton but were there any more?
Connie tells him to start showing up to work on time, and asks why there isn't a bible or family photos.
Don spouts back a wry comment
Connie tells Don he's not amused
Don tells him he was caught off guard, with him in his office
Conrad laughs as though insulted then gives Don his advert business. Was he testing him?
(Also posted this in a Bali group but decided to ask here)
I'm Hilton Gold status and will soon be traveling to Bali. I'm wondering whether to stay at Conrad Bali or Hilton Bali. Has anyone had experience with these two hotels?
I'll be travelling with my husband and 2.5 year old child for a family trip. My considerations would include
- quality of executive lounge (planning for executive room)
- child-friendly pools, facilities
- quality of nearby beach
- overall feel of resort (not planning to go to many places, would be great to chill and rest within the hotel/resort itself)
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
I stayed at the CONRAD Hilton hotel and made my first youtube video. Not the best but you have to start from somewhere. Enjoy.
Has anyone here paid for a Hilton Premium Club Asia membership for a stay in Thailand?
We'll be at the Conrad Koh Samui for five nights next month and although breakfast is covered through elite benefits and we will have a rental car, I know we will end up spending a fair bit on food at the hotel. Included in the 8,000 THB ($250) membership to the Club is:
50% discount when dining with one guest
One (1) Certificate for Complimentary Set or Buffet Lunch for two persons
One (1) Certificate for Complimentary Set or Buffet Dinner for two persons
One (1) Certificate for Complimentary Afternoon Tea for two people
One (1) Certificate for Complimentary bottle of House Wine when dining in any restaurant
One (1) Voucher for one Complimentary Room for 2 persons in a BKK Hilton
I'm thinking that with one dinner at Jahn and a couple lunches at Zest we will probably have broken even on the membership, and it would probably make me more relaxed about spending money on what I know is totally overpriced food for Thailand (even though I'm just pre-paying for it). I'd also potentially switch my stay from a smaller boutique hotel I'd paid for with TYP to one of the BKK Hiltons (although not necessarily).
Potential downsides are that I'd be pre-paying for something and potentially feel obligated to overspend at on-site restaurants vs venturing outside, that I'll be missing out on the pretty ridiculous 54 HHonors points per dollar we'd be earning on any hotel spend, and that I'm paying for something without really using a lot of its benefits.
Anyone done this for a CKS reservation before?
Edit: ended up going for it. Even if the math miiight not fully work out once the HHonors points are factored in, the reduced stress of having essentially prepaid for a lot of food will be worth it. My wife registered and we paid the 8,000 THB and immediately got access to the discount codes/certificates via the app. Now I just need to figure out if there is availability to use the complementary night at the Conrad Bangkok on one of the dates we're there.
Just finished re-watching the series and I was surprised by something. When SCDP lose Lucky Strike and are scrambling to find as many accounts as possible, why didn't Don approach Hilton? I know that their relationship was quite complicated but you would think that Don would have done it if he thought it would help save them.
