India and Pakistani Monarchy Situation (How do I think an Indian monarchy restoration would go)

There are people who desire to return their monarchs and movements like this are most common in Romania, Bulgaria, Iran, Afghanistan, Brazil and Germany. However many ask why are there no monarchist movements in India or Pakistan? My answer is that the people have no memory of being ruled by a monarch (except for the British), however the many ethnic groups in India and Pakistan did have rulers of their own ethnic kingdoms whom were called Princely States. These Princely States were vassals and protectorates of the British Raj, Mughal Empire and Maratha Empire whom all ruled the Indian Subcontinent long ago.

Plus Pakistan and India were colonial creations of the authorities of the British Raj. The reason of their creation was due to idiotic ideological and religious differences the Hindu Indian National Congress and their former friends/hated enemies the Muslim League. The reason these two political parties were enemies was because their peoples were enemies for generations. The Hindus were enemies of the Muslims because in many Hindu majority regions, Muslims were victims to ethnic cleansing and the Muslims were enemies of the Hindus because the Hindus were oppressed under Muslim aristocrats and autocratic Muslim monarchs for thousands of years. This and the Kashmir region dispute were reasons why the partition and the constant wars between the two nations is a thing in OTL.

Origin of Partition (India was never unified as one nation)

India was never a united nation as many would like to think, India was nothing more than multiple kingdoms waging war with each other. These Kingdoms were created by ethnic groups with different cultural and religious backgrounds that had a habit of not getting along with their neighbors and constantly waging war with each other. There were many empires throughout India's history that tried to create a united India, but it never worked because the rulers of those Empires always had opposition against them which made centralization really hard. The only Empires that came close to creating a fully united India were the Mughal Empire and the Maratha Empire. The Mughals were successful due to their Persian Emperors (whom are descendants of the Persian Emperor Tamerlane) adapting to the culture of India, but sadly they were Islamic like their predecessors, the rulers of the Sultanate of Delhi and they lost wars to various rivals and to the British. The Marathas created an Empire that was secular and tolerated the practices of

Q/ What is the situation on the Indo-Myanmar border?

A/ The Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB) is 1,643km long, encompassing four states. We have a total of 46 battalions in Assam Rifles. In the northeast, connectivity is a major issue where all battalions cannot be employed only on a border-guarding role since we have a counter-insurgency role to play as well. The situation on the IMB is and has always been challenging given the terrain, weather and cross-border linkages that exist.

Q/ How do you respond to the criticism that the Assam Rifles is not doing enough?

A/ Yes, at times, there is an opinion among certain sections that the Assam Rifles is not doing enough. But then these people hardly know about the challenges that exist on the IMB. It is forested, interspersed by mountains and a large part of it is riverine.

People say the border is porous. I say it is open. There is no border fence; all that exists are border pillars which are just two or three feet high. It is difficult to explain where India ends and Myanmar begins. Then, there are ethnic linkages between people on either side of the border. It is a legacy of our colonial past and people feel that they are connected like brothers and sisters. There are Nagas and Kukis on both sides, although they are known differently.

Under such difficult circumstances we are doing our duty to the best of our abilities, day and night.

Q/ Of 46 battalions, how many are engaged in guarding the border?

A/ Currently, 19 battalions are engaged in the border-guarding roles, and they cover 26,000 sq km of a total of 46,000 sq km being taken care of by the 46 battalions. Counter insurgency role for us is in Nagaland, Manipur, Assam and Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) areas of Arunachal. So, please understand the enormity of the task at hand.

Q/ How has the coup in Myanmar affected India? What is the situation in Myanmar now?

A/ After the change of dispensation on February 21, large sections of people are huddling in the border areas to cross over to India. Around 12,000 have come in so far. Of that, about 10,000 are in Mizoram alone. Many have been sent back.

A national emergency was declared in September in Myanmar. People are protesting against the army there. They have formed groups. After September 7, when aerial bombardment took place close to our border, refugees became desperate and have since been trying to enter India. **In the last one month, around 4,000 of them have arrived in Mizoram. Indian Military Strategy History, 2018 Land Warfare Reforms and the Indian Army Integrated Battlegroups Concept- a Detailed Documentation (Part I)

PS BEFORE READING: The views are exclusively the author's own and are purely based on all available information and sources compiled from the Internet.

Stage I: P.M.S Blackett's Scientific Strategy, India's Dangerous Geopolitical Game of Chicken Against the PRC (1947-1962)

Part A: Post Independence Scenario (1947-1961)

The original Indian military-strategic theory of tactical and strategic restraint and Pakistani-focused defense strategy can be credited to Nobel Prize-Winning British scientist PMS Blackett- a pivotal member of the British wartime community in World War 2 who was pivotal in developing the ULTRA signals intel network and organizing a coherent bombing strategy of going against maritime targets in the Atlantic - was hired by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1946 to present a scientific strategy for the defense of the newly formed Republic of India. The Armed Forces had retained Field Marshall Sir Claude Auchinleck's, Armed Force Organisation Plan calling for 200,000 Active Duty Ground troops, a 20 squadron Air Force and a Navy centered around 2 Aircraft Carriers with a primary threat coming from the Great Indian Desert Region (i.e. the post-independence state of Pakistan). P.M.S Blackett had submitted the following recommendations to the Indian Government,:-

  1. Maintain a small territorial defense force focusing exclusively on a Defensive Minded Strategy
  2. Maintaining a Non Aligned posture against the Soviet Union and the United States
  3. Military Expenditure MUST NOT exceed 2% of India's GDP
  4. No need to pursue any Weapons of Mass Destruction Programme (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Weapons)
  5. Focus Extensively on Generating economic growth by modernizing core industries, infrastructure, and poverty alleviation.
  6. To ensure the Indian Armed Force do not get entangled in a war against a major power, extensive civilian control of the Armed Forces must be maintained in all affairs related to defense.

This extremely pacifist recommendation was taken to an extreme level that pushed India's Defense Budget below the recommended 2% target- the Army went through a massive demobilization period in which 7 World War II era Divisions were disbanded while the Frontier Guards were divided between India and Pakistan- with Pakistan gaining 7 of the 11 Frontier Divisions, [with defense becoming an afterthought.](https://eparlib.nic.in/bit

What if the triple intervention never happened?

Japan had a hatred for the three nations of France, Germany and Russia. The reason Japan was unable to get the territories it won in Manchuria was due to the West having no desire to see China suffer the cruel terms of the Treaty of Shimonoseki.

The reason they didn't want China to suffer unequal treaties drafted by Japan, was due to Several Western newspaper correspondents present at the time revealed that Japanese troops "indiscriminately killed" thousands of Chinese soldiers and civilians, and the story of a Japanese massacre soon spread among the Western public, damaging Japan's public image and the movement in the United States to renegotiate the unequal treaties between that country and Japan. The event came to be known as the Port Arthur massacre. Japan won the war and gained the territories of Taiwan and Southern Manchuria, however they would not gain Southern Manchuria due to Russia, Germany and France intervening with the treaty. However they had reasons.

Russia's reasons of intervening were due to it's paranoia of not extending the Trans-Siberian railway into Manchuria to get warm water, because the Russians need warm water to do stuff they can't do in cold water and sadly, most of their coasts and bodies of water are sadly cold due to Russia's geographical location.

Germany's reasons of intervening were firstly, its desire to draw Russia's attention to the east and away from itself and secondly, to enlist Russia's support in establishing German territorial concessions in China. Germany hoped that support for Russia would encourage Russia, in turn, to support Germany's colonial ambitions, which were especially vexed since Germany had only recently formed itself into a unified nation and had arrived late in the colonial "game."

France's reason of intervening was due to it being friends with Russia due to the fact French bankers did have financial interests in Russia (especially railroads) and the fact France fears of loosing Indochina to Japan.

The Triple Intervention was successful for the three European Powers because Japan had to back down as it's Armed Forces would automatically loose against the European Powers who have more powerful and larger armed forces. The victory of France, Germany and Russia against Japan was called a g

How China Views India's Military Strategy

CASI's mission is to advance understanding of the capabilities, development, operating concepts, strategy, doctrine, personnel, organization, and limitations of China's aerospace forces, which include: the PLA Air Force (PLAAF); PLA Naval Aviation (PLAN Aviation); PLA Rocket Force (PLARF); PLA Army (PLAA) Aviation; the PLA Strategic Support Force (PLASSF), and the civilian and commercial infrastructure that supports the above/

The β€œIn Their Own Words” series is dedicated to translations of Chinese documents in order to help non-Mandarin-speaking audiences access and understand Chinese thinking. CASI would like to thank all of those involved in this effort. In the β€œIn Their Own Words” series, CASI and its collaborators aim to provide Chinese texts that illustrate thoughtful, clearly articulated, authoritative foreign perspectives on approaches to warfare at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.

Well first off some interesting tidbits that concern us and the First Sino-Indian War :

> The strategic concept of the mid-1960s prominently stressed β€œluring the enemy in deep.” Given that the US war in South Vietnam was escalating, that the Sino-Soviet relationship had ruptured, and that the situation in the Sino-Indian border regions was grim, the national security environment had further worsened. Mao Zedong believed that the United States, the Soviet Union, and India might jointly launch a military attack against the PRC, and thus the guiding ideas based on β€œfight early, fight hard, and fight a nuclear war” emerged; [Mao] gave instructions a number of times that the strategic concept needed to respond to β€œall directions” and to resist possible invasions by foreign enemies among multiple strategic directions. It was necessary to focus both on holding back and luring the enemy, to lure the enemy in deep, and to annihilate the enemy in depth. He conceived of the possibility that the enemy would attack among four directions – Tianjin, Qingdao, Lian

Muslims in East Turkestan: Internal Persecution and Ignore...

Muslims in East Turkestan: Internal Persecution, Ignoring the Outside Since 11-01-2009 The violence practiced by the Chinese authorities against the Muslims of East Turkestan generated counter-violence by Chinese Islamic movements, led by the Turkistan Islamic Party.

In Ramadan last Chinese authorities have imposed restrictions since the beginning of the month on some types of worship for Muslims, and within the prohibitions: Prevent wear the veil for women or lengthening beards for men, and to prevent local officials from fasting holy month of Ramadan .. Officials in Yang Mali city and visit mosques twice The website of Yang Mali said that there are 9 rules to ensure security and stability during the month of Ramadan, including banning students and teachers from fasting, banning retired government employees from entering mosques, banning men from growing beards and banning women from wearing The Islamic niqab, and the closure of restaurants during the day in Ramadan, according to what was stated in the Saudi newspaper ( Al- Sharq al-Awsat) on the 9th of last Ramadan, quoting (The New York Times) .

The newspaper also stated that the Chinese government claimed that these measures were to prevent "extremism, terrorism and separatism"; Therefore, "we must confront the spread of religious education provided by religious leaders and their students," according to her claim. It was not immediately known how to implement the new instructions directed to all Muslims in the region, not just the "extremists". The sources did not mention that the authorities would abandon these restrictions after Ramadan or not... Rather, the Chinese government made Tarawih prayers and prayers a cause of extremism, as they say: β€œWe must warn from time to time, and stop the religious from organizing collective prayers (such as Tarawih and Qiyaam), and prevent large mass gatherings that harm social peace and stability in Ramadan.”

In addition to the above - as stated in (Middle East) - The regional government banned its Muslim employees of the ruling Communist Party, teachers and students from fasting Ramadan or practicing religious activities, and also warned that β€œanyone known to be forcing other people to fast will face punishment,” referring to the preachers who talk about the obligation and virtues of an obligation. Fasting.

In this direction, the authorities issued orders to restaurants to open their doors during the day in Ramadan. The authorities also demanded that beard

Quick Reminder - Chindutvadis have been, are and will be eternal loyal bootlicking dogs.

Subhas Chandra Bose was a fervent critic of Vinayak Savarkar, a man regularly praised and deified by PM Modi. On many occasions, Bose objected to the worldview of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha, which was founded by Madan Mohan Malaviya (another of the PM’s heroes) and described by Bose as a β€œcommunal organisation”.

Bose bluntly accused the Hindu Mahasabha of being more interested in the downfall of the Congress than in the independence of India. In a March 1940 editorial, he wrote that the Hindu Mahasabha had colluded with the British in the Calcutta Municipal Election at the expense of Indian parties:

β€œβ€¦ the tactics employed by some Hindu Mahasabha leaders … have caused us pain and sorrow. The Hindu Mahasabha did not fight a clean fight … [Their] candidates included men who had tried their level best to break the Congress Municipal Association and to that end had formed the United Party in the Corporation in co-operation with British and nominated groups of councillors. Some of them have been re-elected and one could easily anticipate how they would behave in future.

The Hindu Mahasabha has given evidence of greater desire to do down the Congress than to save the Corporation from British domination.

It remains to be seen if any other Indian group in the Corporation will show more keenness to resist British domination than to fight the Congress…”

As Congress President, Bose oversaw the passage of a resolution barring members from joining the Muslim League or the Hindu Mahasabha (Savarkar was President of the Hindu Mahasabha from 1937 to 1943).

An editorial that Bose wrote in Forward Bloc Weekly in May 1940 read thus:

β€œThat was a long time ago when prominent leaders of the Congress could be members of the communal organisations like Hindu Mahasabha and Muslim League. But in recent times, the circumstances have changed. These communal organisations have become more communal than before. As a reaction to this, the Indian National Congress has put into its constitution a clause to the effect that no member of a communal organisation like Hindu Mahasabha and Muslim League can be a member of an elective committee of Congress.”

A major point of contention between Bose and Savarkar was the Quit India Movement. The Hindu Mahasabha joined the Muslim League in boycotting Gandhi’s calls to launch one final struggle to make the British leave India. And under Savarkar’s instructions, the Hindu Mahasabha went one step further in actively aiding the Brit
