I’m Chloé Aeberhardt, a French journalist currently working for French newspaper Le Monde and the author of ‘Female Spies Tell All’: a five-year study detailing the secret lives of eight women spies who worked for the main intelligence services during the Cold War.

In ‘Female Spies Tell All’ they recount the decisive role they played in the East-West conflict. As well as the book and web series, ‘Female Spies Tell All’ has also become a graphic novel. Before I joined Le Monde, where I am busy covering health issues for the Economy department, I worked freelance and wrote about many different topics, including: editorials on Hollywood’s Magic Castle, pro-abortion protesters in Texas, human cyborgs, nannies of the rich and famous, babies and work culture in Japan, the conflict in Northern Ireland, Icelandic literary trends and global street art. I also profiled actors, sportsmen, writers and TV personalities. I’m currently working on a new publication. AMA!

I want to preface this by saying that I think we can all agree Chloé can be poorly written and pretty one-dimensional at times. However, I always see people say that Thomas Astruc/the writers started to make her a redemption arc when she became Queen Bee only to yank it away... but I’m fairly certain that she was intended to be irredeemable from the beginning, or at least a character who is morally grey and often in the wrong.
Her and Adrien mirror each other in that they both come from neglectful, borderline abusive families, have insane expectations thrust upon them, and grow up extremely privileged in terms of wealth. Adrien is supposed to be an example of rising above all of that and being good and kind despite his privilege, while Chloé represents people who ultimately fall back on the cruelty and unfair advantages they’ve been given. Is it well executed? At times, not particularly, but I think Chloé is a pretty good parody of real attitudes that a lot of people who grow up in hyperprivileged environments can have.
In conclusion, she was never meant to be redeemed, and the constant harassment Thomas gets over her character feels a little inane to me. Could the showrunners have written her better or more realistically? Yeah, but not every character (or PERSON) has an epic redemption arc that suddenly makes them into a wonderful person. Personally, I love to hate her character, and I am interested to see where the writers take it in the coming seasons.

I am a 24yr old female vet student/vet assistant. I received a sample of Chloé perfume (I forget if it was through Macy’s or another sample offer). I was pleasantly surprised by what a pretty, clean scent this perfume has. I usually wear Chanel Chance Tendre and can be picky about other florals. This scent is different than something I would usually pick. The initial scent is a beautiful peony rose scent and the dry down is clean and almost a soapy floral to me. This is a perfume I would consider buying myself in the future and could see myself wearing as an everyday spring or summer scent even in the classroom.
